Not sure about the selling very fast given the current availability - assume you'll get a J4 sometime next year. Assuming inventory stays the same, a Royal Up to GS looks good.

I swear last time I looked only 3 JS were available but tons of GS. Now it looks like the opposite haha. Either way, i'm pumped for my first suite experience.

  2. Hi everyone, I just booked the March 4th-9th sailing from Singapore to Port Klang (KL), Penang, and Phuket!

I was able to get a great price for the Suite GTY Category - WS. Has anyone done this before, and mind sharing what suite you got? I would assume most likely junior suite, but those seem to be selling very fast while larger suites not so much.

Look forward to hearing any actual experiences! Cheers.

  3. Yes, Music Hall was the nightly venue. However I am 24...the crowd was very old and the music was all from before I was born.

When they did do fun events like RED, silent disco, etc aimed at the younger crowd, EVERYBODY in their 20's came out. I absolutely loved the ship, but the night time activities were lacking. By like 10-11pm it seemed the entire ship was closed except for just the Music Hall.

  4. I loved the bionic bar, I could make exactly the drink I wanted without having to explain or ask a bartender. It was also cool as hell to watch. Agreed it wasn't the best hangout place and closed way too early.

Oh yeah, it's $3 per part of alcohol, up to 4 parts. So your own drink could be $3, $6, $9, or $12. I also never got charged for any of my Bionic Bar drinks :D

  5. First time poster and cruiser, but I also got off the Anthem of the Seas Thanksgiving sailing and had a fantastic time.

I had booked my Anthem cruises prior to doing the Quantum inaugural and one other Quantum sailing. There were lots of problems and dislikes with Quantum that I won't go into here, but I decided to keep the four sailings I had booked with Anthem in the hopes that by my Thanksgiving sailing, many of my dislikes would be resolved. A few were, but many not and so, despite the convenience of not having to fly to board her, I opted while still on board her to cancel my other cruises on her and book other RC ships for the same time periods. Two of the cruises cost me more than the Quantum due to the late booking, but I am happy I made the switch.:)

Some of the problems on the Anthem Thanksgiving sailing:

    • level of service among many of the crew
I agree that service wasn't exceptional, especially for some dining and activities, but it wasn't that bad that it effected my cruise in a negative manner.
    • poor stateroom prep despite special needs notifications: no shower stool
My stateroom service was absolutely excellent...every time I came back to my room for something through out the day it was good as new. I guess this is hit or miss depending on your stateroom attendant?
    • no bathrobes in room - took 2 days to get them
I would not let a bathrobe effect my cruise. Seriously. a BATHROBE
    • 2 broken elevators - one for the entire length of the cruise
Other than returning from the Muster Drill, elevator waits were never that lengthy. Once again, this did not negatively impact my cruise at all.
    • coffee machine in the Concierge Lounge broken for the first four days of the cruise
Annoying yes, but once again I don't go on a cruise for coffee.
    • cabin door repeatedly would not close or was extremely difficult to open - despite repeated attempts to fix it
Did not have this issue, so cannot comment.
    • long lines for activities (yes I know it was a holiday sailing but the allocated times could have been better planned out)
I didn't wait in line for anything. Made reservations or went at less popular times. I do think they should have more hours though, especially at SeaPlex.
    • Hit and miss in the Specialty Restaurants - Thanksgiving at Chops took almost 2 1/2 hrs. - had to keep reminding our waiter that we ordered drinks, needed bread, etc.
Chops, Jamies, and Izumi were all extremely excellent for us - both the service and the food.
    • Lots of creaks and noises- one being a loud repetitive thumping
That would be the stabilization I think.
    • limited number of bars made frozen cocktails due to the lack of a blender
Don't drink too much, so never was a problem. But not every bar needs to offer frozen drinks
    • embarkation time was 11:30 - got on board at 2:05 due to Wi-Fi issues
Must have missed this, arrived at 11am and was on the ship about 10 minutes later
in addition: Windjammer was not open 24 hrs as stated; and there was a charge for WOW bands despite the new policy going into effect AFTER final payment had been made and set sail pass said it would be in stateroom
I also wish Windjammer was 24 hours, as Cafe Promenade and Sorrento's didn't do it for me. Could care less about the WOW bands. I don't like anything on my wrist.

I go on a Cruise to experience all the ship has to offer for food and activities, and both were excellent. My only true complaint (other than service getting a bit better) was the hours of operations. SeaPlex should NEVER close IMO. They seriously turn the X-boxs off and take the ping pong balls away. Activities should be open way more hours, too much teen only time. Late night activities were limited and short. The rare times they did something cool at night for adults (RED nightclub experience, silent disco, etc) it lasted for like...45 minutes? Two70 should be a kickass night club every night of the cruise.
