  1. We’ve done the steakhouse on the first night many of times and have gotten the free bottle of wine. However, if you go with another couple, that’s within your party, they will only give that table one bottle of wine, which really don’t make any sense the other couple paid their way we had nothing to do with them other than they came with us, but there will be but one bottle to a table. Perhaps, if you complain, maybe they will give the other couple their bottle of wine!

  2. Congrats! We have 22 cruises under our belt with carnival with two cruises already booked for 2023 we will be hitting our mile stone cruise in 2023 as well. So the benefit of the cruise is you get 25% onboard credit of what you paid for the cruise? Oh and the Diamond party? As far as the unlimited laundry I see no value in that, three loads for my wife and three loads for myself on a seven day cruise is more than enough! But we’re looking forward to our milestone as well, just trying to figure out the best bang for the buck! Like a 10 or 14 day.

  3. Oh that’s easy! Back in the day when my wife and I were bringing our 3 kids, and paying for five airfares from Boston to Florida or California and buying a cruise for five people and paying for five excursions in each island. It came down to those little pieces of paper with numbers on it called money$‼️
However now they have kids of there own, they’re not grandfathered in anymore‼️ And my wife and I book nothing but balconies preferably aft balconies, we will never be in an inside state room again. And that’s all I got to say about that😉

  4. The MRS. and I have never good luck booking the steakhouse, when we first got on the ship. As far as getting reservations for the (first night…) The first night, we have found is normally all booked up, by the time you step foot on that ship. So we always Well in advance, Book and pay for the steakhouse for our first night.

Yes, you will be able to get a basic dirty martini with any of the vodkas listed in the document i linked in the first post.

Drinks at Starbucks are not included, but specialty coffees at Cafe Promenade are included.

Thanks for the info. And based on what ive read, you can get a milk shack at Johney rockets IF, your eating there.

  6. For what it's worth, I have a confirmation email (posted above), but when I look at my activities on my booking, it isn't listed there.

Boy my wife swears, it's been on ours in the past. However things change. Yet your good to go, and if this happens to be your first time, you maybe booking it again for your last night! Oh and split the cheese cake, It's Hugh!

  7. We're thinking about booking a cruise over New Year's. Has anyone cruised over the holiday? What kind of special events, if any, could we expect?

Thanks in advance for your input

    Happy cruising!

Has far as Christmas they had a tree up in the atrium, and played Christmas music. And the ship was decorated for Christmas!

  8. I get a confirming email within a day or two, probably has to do with loyalty status. They confirm the priority plats & diamonds first. Others may have longer waits.

Besides the e-mail, that you now know about. You will also see it in, manage my booking in your activities.

And as far as Diamond and platinum goes, if they have a full house. That's there priority, if a Diamond or platinum member calls after they're all booked they're not getting in, if your diamond or platinum! Once you have reservations you're good to go. You were smart to book it online prior to your cruise, there have been times we have gone in on the first day track down the steakhouse folks as soon as we got on the ship. And that first night is already taken!

  9. 28-Apr-18 My wife and I sailed a (7) day on the conquest, of all the Meet and Mingles we have been to this was the best by far! It started with A very nice invitation, on our bed that you could not miss. So there was no need to check the Fun Times! It was held in the piano bar that they now call the blues bar, right behind the alchemy bar. Carnaval had nicely arranged juices coffee and tea along with pastries and cookies with napkins and plates. They had an individual there representing the ship, and A photographer that took a picture of all of us. And my wife and I each, got A picture for free. That was delivered in our state rooms later on the cruise.

    So job well done!

  10. Both appropriate and proper. We cruised with a retired General in uniform. Next formal night he was at the Captains table.

I, and probably more than a few Vets, would be likely to send over a drink.

Make sure to stop by the photographers on formal night. You don't HAVE to buy the pictures, but you may find one that you can't resist.

Thanks for serving - Ken S

Military dress uniforms are appropriate for formal nights.

I was not a ARMY DOG, I was a SQUID! Yet I've got his 6, if anyone would say anything about his uniform. God bless your husband. I'm one of 4 brothers with a total of 70 years active. Bottom line if I, or any of my brothers, heard anything negative, IT would get Ugly Real Quick! Just saying... Enjoy your cruise! And yes I've never taken a Sensitivity class, and would Never make it today if a was 14 years old today! I wish you and your husband, Fair winds and Following Seas.

  11. Why not just follow the suggested dress code? It isn't that hard.

The millennial‘s are like snowflakes they’re very sensitive, they just make the rules up as they go along, got to love this new world. NOT me though! Oh and let’s not forget the jeans and T-shirts on elegant night that’s always a highlight it’s amazing how people are observant and may look at each other, and say, do you think we’re under dressed!?!!? Clueless

  12. As for myself no, when ever I'm on my own walking around the ship it's in my pocket. Most of the time I don't need it, and my wife has it. As for her she has a small over the shoulder coach travel lite purse if you will, that she always uses. Yet on our last cruise people we meant years ago while on vacation in Key West, that now are our vacation buddy's, 5 cruises later, just bought my wife one as a gift! And yes it it has a lot of Bling, so she maybe the Keeper of the Sail and Sign Cards, in her new Blinging Lanyard! but for myself I'm a pocket guy.
