  1. How often do they serve the escargot now?

Thanks. Nice to know. What did they serve the first formal night? Prime rib?

If I remember correctly escargot was served on nights 1, 2 and 4. On night 4 I was not liking any of the entrees so I just had 4 appetizers, escargot, onion soup, caprese salad and caesar salad. Prime rib was the entree on the first formal night.

If they try to serve you the coconut "pudding", run like hell and never look back.:eek:

Escargot and prime rib were available tonight. We enjoyed the escargot, but opted for salmon instead of prime rib. My key kids had the spaghetti Bolognese which was solid. Meaty, Long cooked sauce and al dente pasta.

  2. Is there a charge for their services? I wish they were on my upcoming cruise but it's not on the list. From their website it sounds fabulous. My 14 year old is autistic and is a great kid, but he does not interact with other children and won't leave my side. I wonder if this would help him on a future cruise.

Any current specials apply. (Kids sail free, BOGO, etc)

They charge $50 - $75 more a day to cover the staff cabins, etc.

    Worth every penny.

We leave the 26th for our second cruise with them. We cruised the first time April 2016. I'll echo what everyone has said.

    - Being with other families in the same boat is so nice. When your kid acts out, they won't be the only one.

    - Early Boarding

    - Quiet and private muster drill.

    - Evening respite.

    - Pool time

    - Private sessions for flow rider.

    - Reserved seats for shows. No need to get in line early.

    - Kids club can still be used, but they will call teh Autism on the Seas staff first if your kiddo has an issue.

    - Beach time. (They watch the kids in the water or sand. You can lay in a chair and read or nap. or find a hammock.)

We still did things together with all four of us, but having time with our daughter where we weren't distracted calming our 9 yo autistic son was good for her and for our family as well.

    Happy to answer any questions.

  3. It is my understanding that the ship has a group of families that have children on the Autistic spectrum. I absolutely pray for these families as this is the worst case scenario ever. I can't even imagine how they are dealing with "out of the routines" When we took our daughter the emergency drill caused a full on meltdown.

I am not on board, but part of the Autism On The Seas private community on Facebook. The staff from that group posted: No one in that party was hurt and they are in their private bumper car session this morning. The kids looked happy in the photos!

  4. I have stayed there and it is a zoo. The dining room is way too small for the hotel and seating precious during peak times. Parking is not convenient unless you are in one of the front spots.

The other Homewood near the airport (the one next to the Hilton Garden) is much smaller and nicer.

  5. We are headed on a 4 day on the Enchantment in April. I am wondering what the quality is of the spa treatments? Do you feel they are comparable to a high end hotel or spa? Do the facials include extractions?

Can I get a true deep tissue massage?

Or is it overpriced for the quality? Would love reviews of the treatments.

  6. Holy cats - that would have been a nightmare. Thank you for sharing this, my searches missed it.

The good news (sort of) is after a bad reaction this year I got tested and am allergic to everything BUT bees.

I have about 15 minutes after 1 or 2 stings and we are sailing the Enchantment, which isn't a monster of a ship.

That said - this is great feedback. I'll carry a bag or wear cargo capris depending on where we are headed.

  7. This may seem silly - but I have a serious allergy to stinging insects (wasps, hornets, yellow jackets). I carry an Epi-Pen and will always have it in port. Are stinging insects an issue on the ship? I'm trying to decide if I need a bag at all times or can get away with a lanyard/wallet.
