I'd call it a roll of the dice. DW and I made that mistake. It was almost like working into the first cruise following drydock was calculated in.

If you are highly active 40 somethings I'm thinking something that is not a cruise. Way too much down time. Consider flying to Anchorage and renting a car and from there you can immerse yourselves in activities. My personal preference would be the west side of the Kenai to Homer. But you could also do the east side to Seward and do a Glacier hike and fjords cruise or a Prince William Sound cruise out of Whittier, both are spectacular. or head north to Denali, Fairbanks etc. If you were going to focus on Denali and North a flight to Fairbanks might make more sense. The cruise ports are fun, but very touristy and the 7 day Seattle itineraries are limited to the SE arm of Alaska. If you have already decided the hiking above Skagway, as mentioned is spectacular and you begin a few steps from the ship! IMO it is the highlight of this trip, and if you fish, take a pack rod and catch some dollys at Lower Dewey Lake, just make sure to have a license.

I recall the signature dish in the Savoy Room being pork chops.

The pool band on the Crown a month ago, as mentioned above was Temperature, while being pretty good, they played very little Caribbean (reggae, calypso, parrothead, etc...). Mostly motownish stuff. I don't understand why the bands play so little anymore. When we first started cruising the bands would play throughout the afternoon.
As for the comment above about the Grand not having a pool band, did you check the other (Neptune's?) pool area?

While the Wakeview Bar is a great secluded spot, I do not believe it offers bar service. Also, time your visit carefully as not to get stuck down there during one of the many activities in Club Fusion when exiting would mean barging right onto the stage.

Where is your cabin location?

Does anyone know about or have pics of E209 on the Caribbean Princess?
Thanks

Are the deck plans accurate with regards to the relationship between the rooms and the life/tender boats?

The only advice I have is to always play the max; thus a $1 machine may cost $5 per pull or whatever the max is.

One more try...

These are category Q, they are all the way aft on deck 3 but are on the outside. THANKS!

My understanding is that RCI has a contract with a Belgium brewery to make a beer specifically for them. It is a tasty beer, but RCI is not pushing it.
Give it a try if you like microbrews.
Enjoy!
Draft?
Never again!!

The routing for the Royal sucks, it is too big to traverse the inside passage and goes out to sea instead.
