I did not really like the taste of the water in the room: tasted of chlorine. However, the water in the Lido, Dive Inn, New York Deli all tasted very good.

Great photos!
What a relief you could get a new passport. Have a nice trip.

The bagels are shown as available only during the breakfast hours, but I didn't inquire as to whether or not they would make exceptions.
The menu allows you to select from many different varieties of bagels and many different varieties of spreads/toppings, so I don't think they were pre-made. Even if some were, you would be able to ask for a fresh one.
Wonderful, thanks for your answer!

Does anyone know if the bagels in the NY Deli on Koningsdam are only available for breakfast or also for lunch?
Are they pre-made, or can you choose your toppings?
Thanks!

Hi Amsterdam traveller, we are sailing on koningsdam in June from Amsterdam and will be in the city for 3 days beforehand, can you recommend any local eateries (casual places) that will let us sample local cuisine a bit like the Dutch cafe onboard?
The already mentioned café Thijssen is indeed nice and they serve all kinds of snacks.
Furthermore, you might like Restaurant Moeders (Rozengracht) or Rosereijn (Haarlemmerdijk) or Cafe Schiller (Rembrandtplein) for some Dutch food.
You might also sample some Indonesian food, for example at Kantjil and the Tijger (Spuistraat) or Cafe Kadijk (Kadijksplein).
Dutch Fries from Vlemminx (Voetboogstraat: no seating) has the best fries in Amsterdam.
Enjoy your stay in Amsterdam and on Koningsdam!

Food is free. Just the coffee and alcohol and some of the snacks like the various imported licorice have a price but the food menu like sandwiches and pea soup etc are free
Thanks so much for your quick answer!

I love the design of the ship, thanks for all these photos! I will be on my first ever cruise in July on Koningsdam. Getting really excited :).
I have a question about the grand Dutch cafe: is the food here included? I do not see any prices of the food on the photo with the menu (I did see the prices of the drinks).

Hm that's interesting. I noticed definitely a different taste in the stateroom as opposed to other venues.
