  1. Thanks for posting! It'll be our first time too. We've been doing mostly RC and MSC (previously only did NCL) but switched to Celebrity next year because the kids club goes to 12. So excited for this all adult one though.

Any chance you still have a copy of the At A Glance? Trying to find one. I'm interested to see what activities they have compared to the other lines!

What did you wear to the PJ party?

Are the reservations linked, for the five of you?  That would give you a table together.

Not sure, but my sister in law is a TA and booked all of us. if not no worries, we usually do the buffet most of the time

Did you request a table for two? We travel as a twosome, but are always seated at a larger table (usually round) with a number of other people. If that is what you'd like, just ask.

On Meraviglia my sister in law and I did not make any special requests. We were just placed at a tiny table. There were many other couples/friends, parties of two at the late seating that were seated this way.

Also you could not scoot in-between tables. They were very tightly packed. I might have a photo I can send if anyone is interested 🤷‍♀️

We'll be on Seaside in June in a party of 5. I am hoping we'll get a big round table. These were by the windows. We'll see.

Really no food? I know I know, it's like taking sand to the beach. What about candy bars (I like to give to the crew) or Kind bars I like to snack on while on an excursion?

I took snacks back in December! Had no idea about the rule. Not sure if it was overlooked.

  5. I think it comes down to whether you're the type of person who likes club level perks. We've done it twice, in Las Vegas and in Punta Cana. Personally I'd rather do a balcony room and skip the drinks. We don't want any wifi on a cruise either. But these are definitely a draw for some cruisers 😎

  6. I miss NCL so hard! We used to do them all the time before COVID. Now we're doing RC/Celebrity due to pricing and itinerary.

On the Meraviglia my sister in law and I sat at a tiny square table by ourselves. It looks like only big groups get a round table like on RC. They must be families or friends cruising together.

However the small table we were at was very very close to other tables. Like we might as well been sharing. I dunno, wasn't feeling it. Not sure if every ship is like this though. We'll be on Seaside in June.

  7. Hi friends! Excited to go on our second MSC cruise in June on the Seaside 🚢

Since we don't do the beverage package I wanted to get on the Beverages page of the website/app the Bottle of House Sparkling for $19. I noticed that this is the only alcoholic beverage listed that doesn't specifically state "can be consumed in stateroom".

Is this specific bottle just for consumption in the main dining room?

Or is this just a weird oversight?

Has anyone ordered this one bottle? Thanks in advance!

oh sorry to hear this about Vision.  But I have done so many of the big ships I wanted to experience an older ship with traditional decor.  I know that there will be no big shows or ice or water, but I think the ship will still have some fun and perhaps less loud thumping music for a change.

I did sail on Equinox and I enjoyed Le Petit. Food was pretty good and the show as well.

Here is a couple of photos.  Also, beware there are three versions of the show.

I am including 3 photos.  Spain was salad and Japan was green tea cake.

was a competition between 4 countries and we had to vote.

Thanks for the pictures! It looks so fun 🙂

I know NCL is pricy now but if you can get on the Gem or Jewel, we did both, they are smaller ships buy had a lot of events and outdoor seating. I loved the seating behind the buffet.

Our big thing with Vision was no dedicated place for films and some piano music. No white party etc 😭

  9. Hi! We're new to Celebrity. We've done NCL a lot in the past and more recently RC/MSC. We booked ABC on the Reflection for summer 2024.

We don't usually ever do the specialty dining but we're interested in Le Petit Chef. I watched a tiny bit on You Tube and the concept is so cute.

Is there a way to pay for one dinner or is it better to get a package? Anyone know the pricing of one dinner?

I wouldn't mind dining at the specialty places, but my son usually likes the buffet and then heading to the kids club in the evening so I'd rather just do two dining packages and pay a la carte for Le Petit Chef for my son if that's possible?

With RC they had a black Friday sale, I think it was 30% off excursions and the soda package last year. Is it worth waiting for one of these with Celebrity or do they not offer?

Also any thoughts on the Reflection? We just got off the RC Vision and it was honestly the most boring ship we have ever been on in 17 years 😂 But had the most amazing itinerary.

  10. Awesome review! Thanks for sharing!

Not sure what the cruise lines are smoking, I know they have to increase pricing all around but the drink package makes zero sense to purchase unless you're drunk all day! I guess it's more like having an all inclusive trip and not worrying about drink prices? I dunno.

I was going to book the equinox, but unfortunately it skips Bonaire. We settled for the Reflection, which seems older and not as fancy. Need to cross ABC off our list!

  11. Hey! I can't help with any of your questions but I just wanted to say I did a last minute, very chilly, trip on the Meraviglia to Ocean Cay ad had a fantastic time! Did a girls trip and now booked for June with the family.

Most staff seemed friendly, the only times they were cold were the Italian staff members like at the info desk or on the phone

We booked a mid ship balcony room and had super noisy neighbors, there was one night were there was a wild party (I am packing ear plugs next time). Anyway the really bad part was one of our neighbors above or to the sides was smoking marijuana. It was so strong that whenever we opened the door our whole room smelled like skunk for a while.

So like an old lady I called to complain to the main desk, they sent someone from security to talk to me and did nothing. Honestly i thought they could check cameras or there would be smoke detectors, but nope. Or maybe there are but they didn't follow up.

So yeah, it was mostly fun. My highlight was the over night stay at ocean cay where there was a beach party and lighthouse show. Definitely a new experience for me 🙂

  12. Thanks for the reply! I should've said this is the Seascape? Seaside? leaving out of Orlando. My son will be 12 😎 The water park definitely looks bigger than the Meraviglia, I did a cold girls trip in December ☃️☃️

  13. Hey friends, the Young Club, ages 12-14, I can't find any information about it other than all the fun things they have scheduled. I am assuming this is just like the level above it, teen club, where kids can come and go? Or is it like daycare? Anyone have kids that participated in this? I have an 11 year old who will be 12 on a cruise I am looking at. His favorite thing is meeting a friend in the club.

Also, any thoughts from parents of preteen kids about the water park? Is it cheesy? Fun? Looks like the height requirement is only 42".

    Thanks in advance!

  14. Hey! Not sure what the situation is with kids being unvaccinated, but when we went to St. Maarten previously our child really enjoyed Le Galion Beach on the French side, you can take a taxi or a bus to get there (not sure about post-corona though). The surf is nice and easy. There was a beach bar with chairs you can sit at if you get a certain amount at the bar. The best pina colada in the world was served to me there! My son played on the beach and with a dog that liked fetching a ball. He also played with some local kids. There's some kind of ocean swimming pool there the local kids were using. We also took a walk on the beach.

Maho beach is great too, we went before the hurricane happened and we haven't been back since. The beach is less wide there just FYI. There were two beach bars there on either side of the landing strip. My son is 10 now and I think he might prefer Maho beach just because of the chaos of the airplanes. Some people were even holding onto the chain link fence which is crazy.

The port in St. Maarten is really fun, lots of little shops and bars and restaurants. There was a place called Juggy's Bar, smallest bar in the world we got snacks at. I hope the businesses survived 😞

  15. Sailing in March. First time on this ship, 4th? 5th? time on a Norwegian ship. We've done Gem, Jewel and Breakaway in the past. Any places you would recommend to watch sail away from? We're getting  a cheapie inside room, so no view from the room.

How was the kids club? And the little slide in the kids area? Really bummed out they took out the slide in the main pool area. My son would use it all day on the Gem.

How were the shows? We've seen a cirque du soleil type show on the 14 day sailings.

Anything you want to share would be great. Going to Honduras, Belize, Mexico (Costa Maya and Cozumel).

  16. I've seen a lot of posts on Tripadvisor about the bad seaweed smell at this place. Are these people over-exaggerating or is it okay sometimes? I figure it's hit or miss. The owners respond to a lot of the negative reviews on TA and see to get defensive over the seaweed. We've had a lot of seaweed at an AI in the Dominican Republic, but no smell.

  17. Hello 🙂 First time in Roatan. Will be cruising with the NCL Dawn in March. Looking for other less crowded options than the West End/ West Bay Snorkeling at the hotels there.

I found the Sol y Mar beach club. Has anyone been? How is snorkeling from shore? Also do vendors bother you?

Any other areas you could suggest would be great. TIA!

Not sure if this was covered earlier, but did everyone just get a taxi from port out to West Bay Beach? Is Mandy's Eel Garden at a public beach or part of a hotel? 🙂 Looking forward to snorkeling!

Mitsu....I see you still love snorkeling as we do. We will be back to West Bay next month aboard Reflection. This will be our 6th trip to Roatan, but it has been about 5 years since our last, so it will be interesting to see how this beautiful reef has done with the huge increases in cruise ships arriving there. Loved your map (with the "Kidney" as the start/end point) and will try to follow as best I can (I'll try to hold off on consumption of MonkeyLalas;p until after).

  19. Since we fell in love with snorkeling yesterday and our friends were going again today, Melissa and I decided to book the excursion with our friends. I believe it was Snorkel St Kitts.

You may have noticed that I haven't been mentioning my husband Mike much throughout this review. That's because he was sick and miserable for most of it. He never set foot off the ship from the time we boarded until we got back to NY. He went to Vibe maybe twice.

It turns out he was suffering from a gall bladder attack and a blood infection. He is very stubborn and refuses to admit when he is sick. He took Melissa's antibiotics that the ship doctor prescribed for her. When we got home, he went to his doctor and he said that those antibiotics probably saved his life. Had he gone to the ships infirmary, he probably would have been airlifted from the ship. He's still not fully himself yet. He was very overweight and since we've been home (around 6 weeks) he's lost almost 60 pounds. He was at the doctor again today and he says he's recovering slowly but steadily and will have a full physical in 2 weeks.

I'm trying to add more pictures to this review but I keep getting error messages.. WTH??

    I'll keep trying.

Haven't commented in a while but I am still following along!! Can't believe what happened to your husband! I thought he was at the casino the whole time as you girls were hanging out on the beaches. So sorry to read about his gall bladder issues :( What bad luck. :( Wishing him a speedy recovery!! You guys definitely need to rebook so he can experience all the fun times! We are looking at the Western Caribbean 2 weeks on the Epic for 2019!
