Thanks for the replies, The problem i have is the site is not letting me amend cruise to next year. I am due to pay the full whack on the 20 th april and dont want to give them another 2+ k and wait till cruise is cancelled then fight for it back. All i want to do is shift the 400 deposit to a cruise next year but they are not allowing me to do this. Why ? I booked for last year and moved it to this year no problem why are they not letting me do it this year.

Due to cruise 8th july greek mystic and due to pay the full amount on april 20th. I think there is little to no chance of this going ahead so wanted to move it to next year. Unable to do this as wont let me amend booking. Seems they want me to pay in full for this cruise or lose my £400 deposit. Losing faith with marella . Doubtful i will cruise with them again as bad customer service seems the norm. Anybody on here had the same problem?

Hi Victor,
In what way was the service so poor ? We have done D2 twice as well, loved it.
We go on E2 end of August....hopefully. Never good to hear bad reviews. Don`t go into too much detail, spare me if it`s too bad lol
It was explorer i was on . E2 might be better but it was MDR that i had issues with the service was appalling long waits for everthing from drinks to courses. There was 4 of us and when one of us asked for a vodka as she dosent drink wine we waited 40 mins before it arrived after asking 3 times. Thought it might have been an off day but no was like that every time i was in.There was better service upstairs in the italian. The entertainment wasnt that great either. Might have changed now as it was only in service 6 weeks when i was on but seemed to be a lack of staff in MDR. I liked the smaller ships not as nice looking but better atmosphere.

Also just had email.
We were sailing on celebration 28th April 2021
We are now booked on discovery 2
Been on d2 and liked it a lot would much rather be on that than E2 was not impressed with explorer the service was rank rotten

Just had an email from tui my celebration cruise in july next year is now on E2 adults only and is based in dubrovnic. E2 is now taking over all celebration cruises next year so looks like no refunds on deposits.

Yes that professor doesnt hold out much hope for tourism does he. Everyone banking on a vaccine but dont hold your breath on that coming soon they have still to get one for aids and that broke out 40 years ago, they cant even get one for the common cold for that matter. I think this is with us for a considerable time.

Sad to see her go indeed was due to be on her in july but it put forward till next year due to corona and paid £400 deposit last week only for this to happen, remains to be seen if i get my cash back or a credit note. Liked the old ship i did

On the dream for the first time on friday does anyone know who the bands are on this ship next week?
-
I was on in july some good some bad. Food quality was not as good as previous marella cruises but it was the service in the MDR that really needs looking at ,long waits between courses and drink service was slow there it seemed a bit better upstairs so would try there as dont seem to have as many tables to look after. Shows were good and service in bars was fine but lacks atmosphere maybe due to some of the duos playing around the ship. I had a good holiday as was with friends but thought the discovery a better ship.

I,ve not been dragged into the 21st century yet with regards to facepuke but my wife is on so will get her to take a look.As for the reviews its the entertainment one which bothers me most as i have found that the older ships tend to get the best bands i.e strumjam {spirit} prodigy {celebration} anyways i will find out soon enough
-
Going on discovery2 in febuary but i,m a bit concerned about the reviews coming out on here.It has been getting a right roasting, now it might have been a bad fortnight for some but would have liked to have seen some upbeat reviews before i go.
-
Ive been on celebration the past 2 years and never had any problems but sister ship the spirit last july was different and would have to agree with dave10th the pool was a drunken rabble so much so i wouldnt ever entertain the spirit again.I like a drink myself but this was a case of going over the score and the last day had to be seen to be believed.

Thanks Mark good to hear that

Thanks for your reply vitalsign.I am not trying to stir it and this may come as a surprise but i am booked on this cruise in february. I told the wife to book up for the carribean and left it to her, after doing some research i was all for cancelling it hence the posts with a little tongue in the cheek. I needed someone to reassure me and apart from a couple of oddball posts you have done that;)

I would be worried about this cruise because of the two stops in honduars {very dangerous country} in fact cant believe tui are going there. At the moment there is a gov.warning uk stating only essential travel to the country. Very worried about stopping there, in san paulo you have the murder capital of the WORLD.

Just back from the spirit good luck youll need it
-
Just an update on why my cruise was £300 cheaper ten days before i went it was simply an outbreak of norovirus on the spirit.
-
In my case yes.....I leave for croatia next thursday and the holiday is now £300 cheaper than what i paid so wish i hadn"t checked now. My cousin booked discovery last month and the week before they were offering a balcony for the same price he paid for an outside. To be honest it depends how full the cruise is but ive lost out by booking early.
-
Bit of a let down really cant see me paying top dollar so might also have to look elsewhere
-
Now that its almost upon us what does everybody think? Is it best to book in the first few days or wait till later and hope the price falls and maybe save a few bob.Not too fussed about getting the best cabin by booking early more on price i,m thinking.
-
Thanks wiamw i expect it will be much the same as this year but really looking to go to the baltic next year however think it will be a fortnight trip and not sure if i can do a fortnight.
P.S. I was on the celebration in january this year but all the woman in the coffee port said to me was milk and sugar:D

Khor fakaan is a complete waste of a day.... nothing there ive no idea why the ship stops here would much rather had another day in abbi dabbhi
I've just had another cruise cancelled by Marella, now I don't know what to do.
in Marella Cruises (formerly Thomson)

Ive moved my cancelled cruise to a land based holiday in july 22.
My cruise been cancelled twice already and shot up in price so had enough and wont be back till i find out what these post covid cruises turn out to be like. They are almost certain to be different in a lot of ways so not risking it.
Good luck whatever you decide
