  1. Just received notice for our upcoming Alaska cruise on the Royal Princess that we will now anchor and tender at Icy Straight Pt instead of docking.   Also reduced sailing time in Glacier Bay.  Starting to look like an NCL cruise lol!  A little disappointed, but still looking forward to it.

  2. Do it!  Never did an inside cabin until we went on a last minute cruise recently with NCL.  Only negative was swimsuits and workout gear never quite dried, but Princess ships have a self laundry.  And… you will  have to set alarms to wake up as it is quite dark, but great for napping.  The Majestic is a terrific ship especially with the covered pool.

  3. The only major negative was the large smoking bar area above the pool deck.  A lot of smokers. Seemed like smoke blew back over the pool decks.  Morning buffet was the same each day, but good omelets.  No reservations needed for shows.   Two production shows were pretty good.  Comedian two nights was awful.  The three bars together was kind of weird and crowded at times. Food and service were good overall.  No major negatives.  Nicely refurbished ship. We were on a 11 day cruise.

  4. Recently cruised on the Jade.  Long time Princess cruiser.  The Jade is a refurbished ship in great physical shape.  Food is good, especially in specialty restaurants.  Buffett a step down from Princess.  Better entertainment with live music on NCL. Only real issue is the bar above the pool is a smoking area.

  5. Long time Princess cruiser here.  Recently sailed on another cruise line for the first time in years (will do a comparison).  Docked next to the Carribean Princess in San Juan.  Have been reading reports that it is looking ‘tired’ for a while. Yep, they were right about the exterior of the ship. We have sailed on her a while back, but it was depressing to now see the rust everywhere.  C’mon Princess, spend a few bucks and buy some paint!  Was looking forward to sailing again when she docks out of Port Canaveral, but wonder what the interior looks like. Hopefully she will go into dry dock before that?

  6. Greetings:  We are long time Princess cruisers who just booked an NCL Jade cruise to the Carribean out of Tampa.  Great itinerary and good price hooked us away from the love boat line.  Last NCL cruise was on the SS Norway lol!  Would love to hear thoughts, suggestions or can’t misses about this ship.  Looking forward to experiencing something new.  Thanks in advance for your comments.

  7. Good afternoon.  First world problem here lol!  When trying to schedule specialty dining on our next May cruise, only Sabatinis shows as available.  Since we have the premier package and two specialty dinners, would like to schedule the Crown Grill one night.  Is it possible that it is sold out eight months in the future?  Only the two specialty restaurants on the ship.  Could it be that with the package deals now, there is too much demand.  Not really wanting to go to Sabatinis two times.  If this is the case, it’s another package ‘perk’ that is not useable (kinda like unlimited desserts!).  Emailed our Princess rep who responded that we could check availability once on the ship.  That has not worked for us in the past.  Thoughts?

  8. I would bail on that cruise.  Been on a few that had large groups, but none that large.  Even small groups can be obtrusive.  One cruise a small dance group kept popping up in weird places.  One afternoon, a manager made everyone leave most of the Wakeview bar area which they roped off.  The leader of the group showed up with a boom box, and only two or three couples danced.  Not everyone was thrilled with those antics lol!

  9. Unfortunately, on our Canada/New England cruise there were a number of bars closed on deck.  More specially, the retreat bar and the wakeview bar were closed     Quite a bit.  We thought it had something to do with local laws when in port?

  10. Unfortunately our most recent Sanctuary experience on the Enchanted was not very good.  Was probably 3rd in line to reserve and the only sea day available had two lounges tucked into the corner with no breeze at all.  Could have been ok, but a group of 4 couples had reserved together and it was non stop party.  They even had multiple people coming in and out visiting with them all day.  The visitors were even using the hot tub lol.  Manager was nowhere to be found til end of day (looking for a tip?.  Many other trips it was great.

  11. The Majestic is a great ship.  Loved, loved the noodle bar in Alaska.  Conservatory is great.  Recent cruises on other ships we had a difficult  time getting Sanctuary reservations.  In Alaska a neat place to actually swim who it was freezing out.

  12. Heading out soon on a New England /Canada cruise.  Bid on an upgraded cabin and was successful.  Saw that our medallions were shipped (not received yet), prior to the change in cabins.  This may be a stupid question, but do you have to get new medallions upon check in, or by some Princess magic does the medallion recognize the change?  Also, just had our Princess Rep changed for the 99th time.  Kinda liked the last guy… Bummer.

  13. So....Been seeing these 30 second spots about “something extraordinary “ coming soon on the enchanted and discovery.   Who has the inside track on what this may be?  New Show? New beverage package lol?  Your input is welcome!

  14. Greetings.  Planning a 7 day cruise on Enchanted  this fall probably flying into LaGuardia.  What are your experiences on using Princess transfers or just Uber, etc.  Looks like a later returning flight so any thoughts on the Princess excursion touring New York and then being dropped at the airport?  Any other tips on must see places during the cruise would be welcome also.  Thanks.

  15. Just recently returned from a btb on the Sky.  Wanted to love Sabatinis as previous, even went twice.  Servers were stretched way too thin, food just not great unfortunately.  Crown grill was, by far, the better option those two weeks.  Meal was more relaxed and filet and lobster were very good.  Never get big steaks but tried the porterhouse the waiter recommended.  Smaller sizes overall but that was welcome.  Very good experience.

  16. Well, what are your thoughts or recent experiences in using the enclave due to the virus?  Heading out on the Sky soon and have not done previously.  Looks really inviting, but inside and warm seems not to be a good combo?  Also, doing a B2B , so would you consider doing one week or the other or both?  Thanks for your input.

  17. We just returned from the Majestic to Alaska a few weeks ago and received a notice that we have a new contact at Princess.  We would like to change cabins on an upcoming February cruise and have been unsuccessful in getting a response after numerous emails and phone calls.  Got one reply that she would call us at a specific time.... but no call.  Does anyone have a good contact there that they use?  Not real happy with Princess about this.  The last rep was not very good either, but at least returned calls.  By the way, the Alaska cruise was great!

  18. Greetings... Just returned from the Royal's December 8th trip to the western Caribbean.  Flew down on Friday before and spent the time on las Olas Blvd.  Louie Bossi's was a fun dinner evening.  Riverside hotel was great as usual except for the stolen yeti at poolside...!  A stop at CVS for wine and a replacement fake yeti Saturday morning, then uber to the ship.  Got there a little after 11, and breezed through to the ship.  Noticed new carpeting on the steps throughout the ship.  Had a balcony stateroom which was perfectly adequate.  We are platinum and were on the Regal in February.  Room overall was great, although the bathroom door piston squealed when it was opened and closed.  Room steward said he put in two work orders to have it fixed.  It was not fixed the whole cruise.  Beds were new and pretty good, and I believe the tv was new.

Ship overall condition was excellent with a few rust spots here and there.  Very clean everywhere. Quite a mix of travelers this cruise from across the globe.  A much younger mix than February.

Entertainment was actually pretty good.  The party band was excellent, the main shows were very good, and the steel drum player was also very good.  The Elton John impersonator was entertaining, just not our favorite.  The cruise director was great, his staff maybe not so much.

Did not get to see the comedian.

Food overall was excellent, other than the last dining room meal.  Buffet dinner one night for Bavarian night.  Only used room service for breakfast, which came on time each day.  We had anytime dining, but enjoyed the same table and waitstaff (Richard)for 3 of the nights.  The maitre D refused to say hello when addressed, or even acknowledge our presence.  Looked like he was having a bad night, every night.  Symphony dining room, slight figured European.  Actually seemed to sneer!  Did a lot of yelling at the hostess throughout the week.

The poolside grill and pizza were very good also.

Forget a dress code anymore.  Saw shorts and tee shirts in the dining room on formal nights.

The ports were excellent.  First time in Roatan  and Belize.  Only one other ship in Grand Cayman, went snorkeling ,shopping, and lunch at Rackams.  Great day.  Spent the day in Roatan at Mahogany Bay, which was way better than expected.  Friends went on the hiking excursion and enjoyed it.

In Belize we went to Caye Caulker and really, really liked it.  Great place to visit.

Decided to go to Mr. Sanchos in Cozumel and had a great setup on the beach with unlimited food and drinks.

Early disembarkation went well and uber to airport flawless.

Again,  too much to do and not enough time to do it all, but another great cruise.
