  1. I have not accepted it, but they sent notice on the 17th(9 days ago). I have been away for a bit and haven't been able to move forward with it yet.

We arrive at 8am at port long beach (carnival). My understanding is we are really only 15-30 minutes from the airport, depending on traffic.  but getting off the boat is the hardest part and there is no real telling how long that will take.

I paid extra for our original flights into LGB of LAX. It also had a great departure time what worked very well with no stress getting off the ship and to the airport.

What would be some of my best options to get this resolved? Obviously I need to get with Delta on it, but I would like to have as much info as possible before reaching out to them.

  2. I am trying to figure out my best option here.

I booked flights into lgb, which was more expensive than lax. My return flight was nearly empty when purchased and seats were selected.bi got a notice that my flight that was at 1pm is now at 10:30am! And my original flight only has a couple empty seats now.

We are scheduled for arrival at 8am. Honestly, is this flight doable? We are a group of 6, 4 adults, 2 kids (used to traveling).

Flights are now $200 more expensive than when I booked.

  3. So I spontaneously bought a cruise today for the family. We will be in Cabo on Dec 25 and the 26th. Any recommendations for us? the kids are 11/8.

I saw the glass factory, do they offer lessons? that would be so awesome to go and blow our own glass something.

@TheChefslc, I am debating that too.. not sure about that. Do they have to carry that cup around in order to get the refills? They wont want to do that.  I have never done that package, I just drink lemonade and water. How does that work?

from my prior cruise, you just show your card and get a drink from pretty much anywhere. There was no need to use the "souvenir" cup. However, I do believe they are required for the freestyle machines if your ship has them.

I think you should rephrase this. 😳

Wow you are right. That is what I get for trying to do this with my phone.

Let me try this once more...

I am trying to find out who the comedian was on my wife and I's first cruise. It was on the Imagination and dated Jan 7, 2013.

I am hoping to find out if anyone happens to either know who this was or if they have the fun times from this cruise.

I have gone as far as looking page by page, starting around page 3800 on this forum in order to see if maybe it was posted.

  6. I've the past few years I have off and on tried to find out who the comedian was on my wife and my first cruise. I have never been able to locate the info. And now I am at it again...

Does anyone happen to have a fun times from 2013? The sailing is from carnival imagination sailing Jan 7, 2013.

If not, does anyone happen to know who the comedian was?

  7. I would book the 7 day or longer one. the kids will love the experience and will enjoy the kids club, they are 8/5 (turning 6 during the cruise).

Its funny, my girls were just asking my wife and I if we can go on a cruise for our next vacation. Little do they know, we have already booked one and will be going during spring break. What they want is to go to the kids club.

I am certain your kids will love the trip.

8664 has a forward facing window in addition to one facing starboard. It might be a little bigger

    Perfect, more windows!

Sold! I have now switched to 8664. Thanks for the response.

I honestly am kind of shocked that these rooms are still available for my sailing, I know its about 6 months out but these rooms I would consider premium and yet they are available.

I want to switch my father in law to the other one but I think its kind of a jerk move since this room really works well for people with more than 2 people in the room.

  9. This current cruise we just paid in full. The price was $1100 for my family of 4 on a 6 night cruise. Our deposit was $1000 so we just got and and left it at that.

Tonight I decided to upgrade from an inside to an ocean view room 8164 for $230, I just paid that in full to. I do not expect any further discounts for this cruise. It's really a great price in my opinion.

Is this a 6-day cruise?  Royal only does them for 7 days or more.   On my cruise we organized our own on the roll call.  We found 10AM the first sea day in the Viking Crown Lounge worked well and even had a slot pull right after the M&M.

Good to know. Thank you for the information.

So go with the open mind that you selected a relaxing vacation on a classic ship, and you will love it.

This is what my wife and I are doing. After looking at some pictures and really thinking about it, we figured it will be fun to just have some relaxing time on the ship and then enjoy our ports. We really are looking forward to Key West. We have only been there once but I loved it and cannot wait to go again.

  11. We will be on the same cruise! I am excited for this and honestly, I am not really worried about the size. I am actually excited about it. I want to have a nice relaxing vacation and not have to worry about what am I going to do next.

My girls will be in the 6-8 year old club and I am certain they will enjoy it, even with the smaller ship.

As for the "bad" reviews I found, it seems it's generally due to the size.  I have an inside GTY cabin but for my $150 pp for my family of 4, I cannot see any negatives. We don't spend time in the room anyways.

This booking is also over spring break. I know being the smallest ship it will have less kids my girl's age, but there has to be a few others that they can make friends with.

I also did not see a "meet and mingle" for this booking. Maybe we could get one setup? I am not the best organizer but it was fun the last cruise we did.

  12. IF you are able to remotely access your computer, either through a VDI or Remote Terminal, you would be able to simply log into your workstation and do your test then log out and go on your way.

Windows has a built in one that might work for you. It is call "Microsoft Terminal Services Client" you will want ot make sure you have tested it both locally and remotely before you trust your test to it.

I have done this myself 12+ years ago when I took a trip to the Philippines and needed to do some things from the US. I would go to the internet cafe and connect to my home computer through the remote desktop and do what I needed. There were times it was SLOW and times I would get disconnected, but it did work.

You can also buy a Virtual Private Server that has this same functionality for a fairly reasonable price. Again, just make sure you know how it works and what it does and how to access it before you trust it.

Glad you got this sorted out but fail to see how bringing your children will offset the cost. You do know you can’t “share” a drink package, right?

I am aware of this. My wife and kids only really drink water. I plan on ensuring we just have bottles of water whenever needed. If my kids drink it, so be it.

That is how I read  his post:  He plans to give his daughters drinks from his package.

    @TheChefslc ?

Pretty much. My kids do not really drink soda, they tend to just stick to water and the occasional juice.

  14. We are taking our girls, age 8 and 6 on a surprise spring break cruise.

We will be sailing Mar 29, 2020 on the Empress. I did not do very much research into the ship before booking because the price was too good to be true for our 6 nights with a family of 4.

Being that this is a smaller ship, how have the kids club been on the latest sailings? Have there been enough kids for them to make friends? I hope that they will love the club like our last cruise.
