Hi,
One of the three people in my stateroom for a three night NCL cruise in less than 3 weeks just found out they can no longer go.
-Is there any way they can get their money back or get a credit?
-Should we call NCL now and tell them or wait until we get to the pier?
-Will I be allowed to check in online for only three of us? If the third person is no longer going, should I not even bother checking them in?
-If I manage to find a friend to replace the person who cannot go, will NCL allow a name change this close to sailing?
-What is my best option to proceed with our cruise?
Thank you very much.

Hi,
I heard a 2 day inaugural cruise for May 4-6 on the NCL Bliss from NYC advertised today. I went on the NCL website and do not see this. Does anyone know if this is a cruise that can be booked of it this is a charter cruise that can be booked? Interested in going but am curious if there is a way to go besides winning a contest.
Thank you.

Hi,
If I have remaining onboard credit after my cruise from my travel agent, not from RCL, therefore making it refundable, how is it typically credited back? Will it automatically go to my credit card registered to my onboard account?
Also, if I have non-refundable RCL credit for each of two rooms, can I combine them once onboard so if I charge more on one cabin or another, I can ensure everything between the two rooms is used up? Or do I have to allocate my spending based on the credit assigned to each room?
Thank you very much.

Hi,
The beverage package for my cruise had been on sale for $48 and is now $54.
$54 seems a little high. Has anyone seen the beverage package go higher than $54 online prior to the cruise? How much does the beverage package cost onboard - is it likely to be more than $54 or is there still any advantage to buying it now at the $54 rate?
Thank you very much.

Hi all,
I am very frustrated.
Earlier in the week, Royal Caribbean advised to hold off on purchasing a beverage package as on black Friday it would either go down from $48 to $42 or $44 per day or would remain at $48 and include internet.
I held off on purchase, and while Royal Caribbean is advertising the current price as 30% off, it has gone up $6 a day.
1) RCL misinformed me and I should not have held off as the price went up not down.
2) Why is RCL advertising this as 30% off when it is the highest I've ever seen it for my December sailing. This is misleading or an outright lie.
3) Why would RCL increase the price on black Friday? I would have purchased it earlier had they not suggested I wait.
Very frustrated by the misinformation and the misleading advertising.

Beverage package on the Anthem was $48 for the past few weeks. We waited to see if it would go down for black Friday and it shockingly has gone up to $54. What a disappointment and surprise, now we definitely won't be purchasing.

Is there no live music nightly bar like fat cats? Does the Escape have 1 less band (no Beatles band, no blues band)?
-
Thanks! Is there a band/lounge that replaced fat cats blues bar (which on the Epic is the cavern club)? Do we still have the same amount of live music? Is there a dedicated lounge for this like on the other ships?
-
Which ship is better? I'm surprised Escape is newer (and will sail from New York) yet doesn't have Bliss / a nightclub. Does Escape also not have Fat Cats? Is there a different bar with a blues band instead?

Hi,
If I have a coupon for a free dinner for two, where can it be used? How would it work if I go to Izumi which is a la carte?
We've been to Wonderland and Jamie Oliver's and are hoping to try a new specialty restaurant with our coupon. Thank you.

Does Escape have a fat cats blues bar with a band like the Breakaway?

Do you think we can expect 2 days of cold vs Breakaway 7 night cruise which gets to Florida after 1 sea day having 1 day of cold? So the extra day of cruising on Anthem would unfortunately be in cold weather not warm?
-
Still can't decide, lol. If the Breakaway had a solarium and large lounges, choice would be easy. If RCL changed up entertainment for a repeat holiday sailing, choice would be easy to repeat.
Per day prices are the same minus the extra day on Anthem. It's also frustrating that BA gets to Orlando in 1 day vs two for Anthem. Extra day of cruising is unfortunately an extra day in the cold.
-
Thanks! Have you been on Breakaway for Christmas? If so, how was it? What is there to do on BA on sea days?
-
Anyone else have an opinion? What does Breakaway have to do indoors on the 1st and last day (no 270 or promenade, no solarium)?
-
Hi,
When sailing on the 8 night Bahamas Anthem of the Seas cruise in the winter, when can we expect to reach warm weather? The NCL Breakaway gets to Orlando after 1 full sea day, whereas the Anthem takes 2 days from NYC to get to Orlando. I assume the ship will go at a slower speed. Or will Royal Caribbean go full speed and make an effort to get everyone to warm weather as soon as posssible?
Since it'll be cold out, will the ship still go full speed to reach warm weather by the second sea day, or as a result of taking 2 days to get to Orlando instead of two, will we be subject to two days of cold weather and not hit the South for an extra day?
Thanks!

Sorry! Lol - put holds on both, need to decide by 5pm today.
-
Either Anthem (repeat) or Breakaway would be for this holiday season. Thanks!
-
Does anyone think this might feel repetitive? Right now, in addition to the same production shows, Finnis Henderson is also scheduled and on the same cruise from last year. Same Name That Tune and other gameshows (which were great the first time). The one form of entertainment that was our favorite - Synergy Band - has been replaced by a Swedish band called "The Royal Swedes". Had Synergy been on, maybe that would be enough to convince us to try the Anthem again, but now we have concerns. Thanks!
-
Thanks! What was there to do on the cold weather days to and from NY?
Also - were you on for Christmas or New Years last year? Glad to hear it wasn't just families with younger kids but also college aged for our kids. Would you say the crowd was mostly from the tri state area?
-
Hi,
We sailed the Anthem last holiday season with our family - grown kids ages 18-24. If we switch it up and try the Breakaway this year - can we expect a decent group of families with college aged kids give or take and not just younger families? Does a Breakaway sailing for the holidays attract families from the tri-state area primarily? Or does it get a lot of foreigners visiting New York around this time of year? Anthem was mostly families but the 10 nighter lacked families with college-aged kids and there were only 30-35 in this group for our kids to meet and hang out with.
Also - what's there to do ont he cold sea days given there's no indoor pool or solarian or large promenade / 260 type lounge?
Thanks!
-
Thanks. Any idea if the crowd will be similar? Same number of families with college-aged kids for our kids to meet?
-
Thanks! Still torn and need to decide today. Do both ships have similar family crowds for a NYC holiday sailing? Can we expect the same amount of 18-20's kids / grown kids on this type of sailing on either ship?
What does NCL have to do on indoor cold days since RCL has 270 and solarium?
-
Does anyone have any insight on this, need to make a decision which ship and holiday cruise by today. Thanks!
NYC Escape - no nightclub
in Norwegian Cruise Line

Hi,
Since the Escape mostly uses Spice H20 as the club and has the dj play outside of skyline bar, when he Escape is in NYC during the winter, I am concerned regarding the lack of Bliss and a true nightclub. Since Spice H20 won’t be able to be used for 4/7 nights on a winter cruise and skyline bar isn’t a lounge with a true dance floor, will any additional changes be made for a nightclub?
