  1. Male: No one beats Big Sexy - Josh Waitzman

Female: Hands down - Chloe Loddo

I can't choose between them because each of them brought something very special into our trips. We have had all but one who made our cruise a voyage to remember, however these 2 went over the top to be sure we never forgot that we had just experienced a vacation unlike any other! Thank you Chloe and Big Sexy!

  2. My husband and I just came home from a 15-day cruise to Hawaii and I was told by our cabin steward that the laundry crew would accommodate my wishes of a 'cold water wash' and a 'low/medium heat dry'. This is what I can tell you: My clothes came back somewhat tighter and shorter but not as much as they have on previous cruises. Also a few of my husband's underwear came back 'pinkish' in color. Many of our clothes were still damp as well. So I have some doubt that they followed my instructions (shrunken clothing) completely but who knows. It's possible that they tried to do as I asked but with thousands of items to wash/dry, maybe they just didn't have the time. All you can do is send a few of your items out and see how they look and fit when they're returned. Don't take chances with your more expensive clothes!

  3. I tried to post this on the Miracle site but for some reason, the 'start new thread' button was missing for me to clik on. So, I will post it here and maybe one of the administrators will move it over there... Here is my question: I will be going on the Miracle in January. Room #8159. I need to find out if the cabin door opens from the 'left to the right' or from the 'right to left'? If anyone is going on this ship soon, could someone find this out for me and if possible - take a picture? I would really appreciate it! Thanks!! :D

  4. I went last year in November and this year in March and it seemed fine to me, although it may be because I arrived at the terminal right before departure time... Blame school schedules. :p

I was just there on August 15th and it was a mess. They didn't start boarding anyone until 1PM and we were told by one employee that all priority (diamond, platinum, suite, and FTTF) passengers were going to board at the same time.

When it came time to begin boarding, people were getting impatient, it was hot, and everyone was squished together at the entrance. They finally allowed only diamond, platinum, and suite guests to enter, so many of us had to find our way through the large groups of FTTF passengers who were waiting in front of the entrance. It wasn't a pleasant boarding experience and by 1PM most just wanted to board and head to the dining room. :D

That's what I wondered! I know they could get it right if they tried harder. Thanks...

  5. There are a few sites on FB about door decorating and they keep in touch with Carnival about what is acceptable for use. Here are a few to share:

    1. NO Scotch/Duct tape! (blue masking tape is ok but isn't very strong!)

    2. NO Velcro.

    3. NO Contact Paper

    4. NO Colored Gel Clings (might bleed)

    Things allowed:

    1. 3M Command Strips

    2. Loctite fun-tak (which is a blue putty)

    3. Scotch removable mounting putty

I have found it is much easier to just take a cut down to size piece of fabric, wallpaper, wrapping paper, or plastic tablecloth from the dollar tree. Then I cut it to size (72x22) (leaving room for the vent) and affixing my decorations anyway I want too. Then nothing touches the door.

As far as a dry-erase board... have done it in the past but do be prepared. Rude and thoughtless drivel and art have been known to be left.

If using a regular sheet of paper, card stock, etc... please consider using something other than a marker. (Or place them higher up!) I have seen a few unsupervised children using the markers to draw on the doors and walls. If it's permanent - much more work for steward! Just a thought...

  6. We did the Miracle 15 day to Hawaii last January. We were very lucky to have smooth sailing both going over and coming back. the Miracle is one of our favorite ships but we sailed on it before the drydock, so can't speak to any new improvements on it. The food is good and we greatly enjoyed all the Hawaii themed activities on our way to the islands. All the islands were wonderful and each different in their own way. However, I must agree that seeing the islands on a cruise just doesn't give you enough time to see everything! You must make choices and sometimes be disappointed that you miss something you really wanted to do. Definitely do a luau, it was a highpoint for us,we loved it. It was a great cruise and we had a wonderful time on the ship but we wouldn't cruise again to Hawaii.

My DH and I are doing this trip in January and am hoping you will share more about your trip. For me, it is overwhelming trying to figure everything out. For instance: Is there a certain Luau you would recommend compared to the others? What kind of Hawaiian themed activities did you experience? Any info on the islands would also be nice (what you found worth your money and what you didn't), etc... Thanks!

  7. I sail the week before you on 1/9 and would like to help. The timing might be too tight, although I am sure there is a way to communicate mid cruise. I really don't know exactly what you are looking for though. The Art Gallery employees are all Park West employees and therefore would have a Park West email address, not a Carnival email address. Let me know and I would happy to assist. The walls of my home are pretty much lined with Park West Art but I have stayed away from the auctions the last few years, you can give me a good excuse to venture back in.....

I appreciate that! Is there a way to get in touch with you off-site? If that bothers you... I understand. Thanks for your kind offer to help either way!

  8. I am trying to get an e-mail address for the art team onboard the Miracle. I will be traveling on the ship come January and need to have a question answered BEFORE then. Park West will be of NO help in what I need answered. So I was wondering if someone who is either traveling on the Miracle (now or will be soon) would be kind enough to -

Request a 'contact' e-mail address for the ship's on-site Art Gallery? I am not asking for a person's private email. - just the Galleries. And once again, Not a Park West email address. I am willing to wait.

I do thank you for responses in advance. :D

  9. Later this year I will be traveling with a group of friends, one is bringing their 19yo daughter. Daughter looks much older than 21 and could easily be served a drink by an interested young man, who may not know how old she is, and she has a rep of drinking underage. My question is if she is caught drinking underage, what will be her punishment? Will they put her off ship, will they put her and her mother off ship or the whole group?

I had my objections about her coming as I do not want to have to baby sit her and am afraid of what she might get into, but I was over ruled.

I want to know so I can let the group know what can happen if she does not behave.

You're not her parent or her keeper. If she wants to drink, nothing you or anyone else might say to her, will influence her to stop. And unless any of you in your group contribute to her underage drinking, your group will be fine. My advice is to quit worrying over someone else's responsibility. You were 'overruled' so walk away... and have a GREAT cruise!! :D

  10. For those who are wondering who John Heald is and his 'role' in Carnival is simply put: He is the Brand Ambassador for Carnival Cruise Lines. Before that, he was the Senior CD (Cruise Director) of CCL. John writes his own blog and answers questions about everything Carnival and much more. He has millions of followers who adore him but his sense of humor is not for everyone. I have had the pleasure of cruising with him many, many years ago and can honestly say, he was one of the funniest CD's ever.

So with that being said... yes, he does 'speak' for Carnival' in his own way. If it is his personal opinion, he will tell you that. Being the Brand Ambassador carries many responsibilities and I have no doubt that he talks with the 'beards' on a weekly (if not daily) basis - especially if a question needs a policy answer...

Like it or not - the man is of high importance to the Carnival Cruise Line and usually what he says - will hold great weight. I'm not saying he doesn't sometimes get it wrong. What I am saying is that most of the time, he gets it right.

PS... I meant to add this before I submitted my earlier post but something came up and my 20 minute window elapsed. So I thought I better get back on and add this as well - There are hundreds of people (if not thousands) on this CC site that can do a much better job of describing JH and his job description than me. My only intention was to write a 'quick' summary for those who have no idea who he is. And my last sentence... 'What I am saying is that most of the time, he gets it right', is only IF the info he receives is correct or up to date. Otherwise, he is as much in the dark as we are.

Giving us the wrong answer very well could put his job in jeopardy.
