Since you have the Princess Platinum Insurance, you can cancel for any reason and get 100% of your cruise cost (minus the insurance) back in future cruise credits and since the Cruise with Confidence program started, you can do the same for cancellation within 48 hours of the sailing.

If you prefer cash back instead, that will be made available to you if Princess cancels the sailing.  There is a very slim chance that this cruise will happen with the governor of California calling for seniors to self isolate in their homes and the latest advice from the CDC to cancel events where the gatherings involve 50 or more people for the next 8 weeks.  I was just thinking of booking a sailing out of SF as well for early May but think I will just be setting myself up for disappointment.  Just my thoughts ...

Has that really happened on the other cruises Princess has cancelled....option to get cash back?

I thought the 100/125/150% FCC. offered Depended on how many days before your cruise sails...ie back to the cancellation % chart.

  2. My Alaska cruise round trip San Francisco is scheduled for May 13th.

    questions/confusion TIA

    1) Does this cancellation chart in the Passage Contract still apply...in terms of how much $$ refund to my credit card vs FCC I would get when/if either I cancel or Princess cancels:

Today I am at Day 59 until the cruise...I have $100 FCD deposit. I have Princess Platinum Insurance

57 to 89 days    Cruise fare    Deposit^ Amount
29 to 56 days    All Items    50% of Total Charges

Just thought of this....variations depending on the dining room or other area:

Specialty dining: Large sized bottle water and maybe large sized sparkling waters

    What about VINES?

Also, are there nuances....or different beers or ? available at PUB LUNCH?

PUB LUNCH..... any special drinks or beers that only are available at PUB LUNCH?

    thabks

This was not true from my recent experience on the Caribbean Princess in early February. We had the Sip and Sail promo. The only sugar-free soft drink from the fountain guns was diet Coke. Since my wife cannot handle caffeine, she was charged every time she ordered a diet Sprite. They told her any canned soda was not covered under the promo. In fact, she once ordered an alcoholic drink and asked for diet Sprite rather than regular Sprite in the mix and she was charged for the diet Sprite because it came out of a can. I spoke to the Beverage Manager and Hotel Manager about this and they both said it was company policy.

Good to know...that’s what I’m trying to uncover....tips and tricks...thks

  8. Was on the Grand Feb 11th to Mexico.... in Mazatlán....

We rode the free, mandatory, trolley to the terminal....then you walk thru the terminal to the access to the town.

(there's a nice OXXO store....think 7-11 right here....that you can buy any drinks you need, cheap)

From there you can walk the BLUE LINE on the street to the central Market area....

From there you can walk 4-5 (small street) blocks to the Cathedral...

then return to the central Market

Then we went WEST from the central Market 10-12 small blocks to the BEACH...small access

we were able to go down a few steps and walk in the water.  I think from here you can

take the sidewalk....all the way to the Golden area....but we didn't want to walk that far.

There were lots of cruisers on these main pathways.

AND there were a bunch of what looked like ex-retired-Americans in BLUE TSHIRTS all over the blue line corners helping people stay on track and answering questions....

There were also POLICE cars, trucks, and crossing guards along the blue line to the market.

My in laws live there right now and say it is very safe. I've been there and it is a wonderful place with amazing people. Just be smart about your decisions like you would traveling anywhere in the world! I second Stone Island!

Once you boat over to Stone Island, where do u go?  Are there free beaches or only hotels/bars that control sections of the beach? Thanks

The next promo is coming January 2nd through Feb. 28th and is called "All Aboard".  The free gratuities are going away and will be replaced by the free specialty dinner (for up to 4 passengers per cabin).  The OBC is increasing in all categories (for the 1st and 2nd passenger per cabin) and will still be for up to 4 passengers in a cabin.  A good thing is that the deposit will be refundable (vs. the current Anniversary Sale with nonrefundable deposit).  This promo will cover Summer 2019 to Spring 2020 cruises.  It also has a limited time, select voyage only EZ Air credit.

Any idea how much more OBC? I'm specifically looking at OV 10 day cruise which is currently $75/pp. Thanks!

  12. Was onboard another ship in October and we were told that the blue cups that normally come when you buy the soda package were out of stock.....instead we were give a coupon for free bottled water.

wondering, anyone been on Ruby, lately?   Did they have the blue cups or did u get the water offer?

    thanks so much

Yes, at San Pedro Port for Princess ships, there is a Priority Check in counter .   There is also an Elite lounge with offerings of Continental breakfast items.  There is comfortable seating different from general seating in an walled off section separate from general seating. There is also a Platinum seating area outside the enclosed Elite lounge.

Can't remember answer to this. If I'm platinum and my cabin mate is not and our friends coming with us are in a separate cabin and it's their first cruise.... who can come with me to Platinum check in, if anyone...….also, who can board with me.

Also, has anyone been on board Ruby lately, leaving Dec 1st... how are embarkation times running?  Thanks!
