So sorry to hear this.  Sending positive energy your way.

So much has to do with where you live, the insurance company etc.

You must read the terms of the policy.

The policy we buy in CANADA states this as a covered reason to cancel:

A member of your immediate family, a member of your travel companion’s immediate family or your key-person develops a sudden and unforeseen medical condition or dies; or the person whose guest you will be during your trip is unexpectedly admitted to a hospital or dies.

I am going to say that if your policy states something similar, the key is "sudden and unforeseen".

Insurance companies are good at finding reasons to not pay so if you were to claim for this, then they would ask to see when the diagnosis was made and see that it was before you purchased the policy.

    Probably not a covered reason.

Thank you. That’s what I’m wondering. If it’ll be “pre existing” wasn’t sure if he wasn’t on the cruise it would work

I was on the Magic in November, and I just got off sister ship the Dream a few days ago.  I had a great time on both.  Both ships were in good shape with decent food and excellent crew.  I did threads on both at the time of their sailings; search around here and you'll find them.

The Horizon remains my favorite Carnival ship and the Vista is a sister to her.  But I was last on the Ho in 2019 and much could have changed in that time.

You should be happy with whatever choice you make.  Good luck!

Horizon was my fave but just got off of her and it wasn’t great. The food was awful

  3. Thank you for your reply. I wasn’t sure what to expect on an adult only cruise. Nothing phases me and I will love it all lol. I wasn’t sure if all the shows would be explicit in nature. She gets a little uncomfortable around the comedians on Carnival who start talking about sex in front of mom and dad. I am hoping there is a best of both worlds on here

  4. Hi so we always cruise on Carnival but I am finding a great deal on Virgin Scarlet lady for spring break. Will my 18 year old like it? She is very mature and likes to hang with mom but I was wondering if this cruise line is more on the risqué side? I don’t want her to feel awkward at the shows. Any info greatly appreciated before we decide to book. She is a college student so i am sure she would be fine lol but of course different with mom. Thank you

  5. Hi guys, for those who have done both, would you say the sunset is better on the beach (if so which beach) or by boat?
We are (hopefully) going end of December

    thank you

So how do you get these upsells? Is your cruise completely paid for or have you sailed many times? Some of the offers had me intrigued....inside to a balcony! Wow

Our cruise for this offer isn’t until next June so not paid yet. It took about 15 cruises to get our first offer. They offered balcony-suite. Since then we have had an offer every cruise. Idk if we are lucky, if it’s cause they know we will take it or if it’s cause we cruise 3-5x a year. This was first time I was offered an extended on same floor so I wasn’t sure but I took the 8th deck
