I need some help about booking a private tour in Athens for September 2011. I contacted Dimitrius and Paul at athensbytaxi.com and was impressed with what he offered, Does anyone have experience with him?

On our recent NCL Jade Cruise Oct / Nov we used Athensbytaxi.com for our full day tour of Athens. I dealt with Paul online who made the booking process so easy for me & provided us with his wonderful son Dimitri as our guide. Dimitri was there waiting to start our adventure as soon as we docked.

Dimitri was so knowledgeable & it was amazing how much he managed to show us of his wonderful city in so short a time. Dimitri managed to get us to the sites before the hoards of big buses arrived so we always got the best views. Athens was breathtaking & we’d all love to return & spend the time needed to fully appreciate all it had to offer. Maybe next time.

Great information here. We are also discussing using RomeInLimo. We habe family members who toured with them a couple years ago snd recommend them highly.

On our recent NCL Jade Cruise Oct / Nov we used Romeinlim.com for both our airport to ship transfer & our day tour when we finished our cruise. The booking process was simple & all my questions were answered promptly which I certainly appreciated.

Our transfer driver was Salvatori who was waiting with our name on a sign as we arrived & he had us at the ship quickly. Salvatori helped us with our luggage & made sure we knew where to meet our guide when we returned.

On our return Nick was there to meet us again with our name on a sign & away we went. Nick was very knowledgeable & guided us to the sites before the bigger buses so we always got the best views. Nick made suggestions for a lovely lunch before meeting our Vatican guide … (who was also arrange through Romeinlimo). "Yoryanna" just call her Georgia was excellent! The Vatican was a delight & so full of interesting areas that the over 2 hours just flew by & it was time to say addio before we knew it. Nick whisked us to our hotel near the airport & saw us safely settled in for our last night in Rome.

I just got back from a 13 day Mediteranian tour and one of the stops was Alexandria. I was traveling with my two daughters, and my neighbors. We were on Celebrity Equinox. The tours were expensive. My daughter hooked us up with Rames Tours. The email is ramsestours@hotmail.com They were better then fabulous. Most people we talked to on the cruise after the trip to Cairo from Alexandra, had horror stories. We just had the most fabulous time. We had the most wonderful driver and tour guide. Our tour guide's name was Islam. Mr. George from Ramses Tours set the personalized tour up for us and it couldn't have been better. All six of us have decided that Cairo was our most favorate excursion. We saw everything, including the pyramids and a cruise on the Nile. Our tour lasted from 8:30a.m. until 2:30a.m. the next day. We did not stay overnight in Cairo. We returned to our ship in Alexandria

Could you please tell me if the walking portions of the tour were part of the Horror stories that you heard. We are a group of seniors (very mobile) but have seen notations of 2 1/2 mile walks on very uneven surfaces!

Where did you eat? Any favs? Did you request certain things on your tour when booking or just ask when you joined your driver?

Some of the tours listed on the CruiseLine sites state that there is approx 2 miles of walking over uneven surfaces! We are a group of seniors, quite mobile, but wondered if someone could comment on the conditions.
