We have set up our Medallion and on both of our phones the 2 of us appear. Yet under my name I get a profile incomplete. It is asking for email and password. When I try ours it says it is already being used by the second name in the room.

    We share the same info.

Does that info have to be different? We are in the same room and will use the same Billing Info.

    What if I ignore that?

That happened to us as well. The wife just used her own e-mail address on her phone and made her own password and it worked fine.

  2. Princess often has sales that only require a $100 deposit, the same as your FCD. You don't get the OBC though unless it happens to be included with the sale.

You could book your Fall cruise this year with the $100 deposit and wait until your cruise, then book your next Fall's cruise while onboard under the 3 for Free sale that will likely happen this Fall. Then you could get free grats, obc and a minimal upgrade.

Then while you're onboard, buy a couple more fcd's and stick them in your back pocket.

  3. Although I grew up on the San Francisco Peninsula and still live in the bay area that is something I think would be worthwhile seeing. Does the Patters give you any idea when that will happen?

I believe the time is listed when you arrive in SF. I remember it being around 5:30 to 6:30 and sailing in is a slow process so you'll have plenty of time. You do want to get up there before dawn. The air has been very clear that time of morning when we've done this. The buildings are lit up, the bridges are lit up and it's crystal clear through the morning darkness.

    Perfect photo ops.(y)

  4. I would love to see the “3 for Free” sale!!! I am seriously thinking of booking a cruise for October with the refundable deposit and free gratuities. If a better sale comes along then either cancel or rebook.

Decisions, decisions!! Have a good day.:)

In the past, the 3 for Free sale involved cruises pretty far in the future. For example, they usually have it in Sept to Nov. But the cruises available for that sale don't start till Spring the following year.

  5. My DH is an avid stargazer. Do the Hawaii cruises have the Discovery Stargazing program?

Yes they do. You have to sign up the morning of Stargazing event. There were 2 or 3 of those if I remember right. The space is limited because you meet at the tallest deck and only so many people can fit there. I have always wanted to do that but it never works out time wise. Also, you never know when it will be cancelled because of cloudy skies.

Someday, I hope to catch it.

  6. Depends on where you're coming from in many cases. We're in Northern California so we take the cruises out of SF when possible. Also, it's usually a fun Sail Away from SF and going under the Golden Gate. The band is playing, the ships horn blasts as we approach and everyone is waving to the people on the bridge as we pass under it. It's pretty cool.

However, on the last cruise, we got a late start, it was dark, cold and rainy and there was only ONE person on the Golden Gate waving at us. lol

    YMMV.:beer-mug:

  7. I've taken several Alaska cruises but last year we took HAL's 13 day triple Denali/Dawson Cruisetour. It was GREAT!

However, I think you have to go with what makes the others comfortable. I can assure you that all will have a wonderful time if you choose to cruise only. You can always go back and do a land tour later. You don't want to have somebody with you that's uncomfortable with all the travel. On the ship they can be as active or relaxed as they want and the ports and excursions available are first rate.

    It's Saul Goodman.(y)

  8. What they mean about a "carry on" for the train or bus isn't an actual carry on. They mean a small bag or daypack that you can keep with you on the bus or train. You would keep all meds, maybe gloves, snacks or whatever you may need during the ride. Regular carry on luggage is okay to take but they send it ahead on truck to meet you at your hotel when you arrive.

  9. So good to hear! We are looking forward to it!

They also have a good display of photo's and artifacts of the Klondike gold rush in the downtown building. They have a small theater where they show a movie on the history of the gold rush and the building of the White Pass RR. We saw the free movie there first before we boarded the train for our excursion. Though there was a narrator on the train, the free movie from the Park Service had us informed about what we were seeing. We had the afternoon WPRR excursion.

The Park Service in Skagway = FREE. You don't see that too often in Alaska.;)

  10. Be very careful about booking a cruise based on the CD forecast. It's much like booking a cruise to get to a "must do" port, not a good idea. Ports can be missed for multiple reasons and staff can change with almost zero notice. If not getting Kelvin Joy would "ruin" your cruise, you might want to rethink your priorities.

Please show where anyone said the cruise would be "ruined" if Kelvin Joy was not CD.

The OP was asking if anyone knew if he was a cd still and if so what ship as they found him to be an enjoyable CD.

    No reason for snarkiness.;)

  11. My first cruise was a 4 day Baja cruise on the old Viking Seranade. Just when we started to get the feel of a cruise, it was over.:( It's not for me.

We like 10 and 15 day cruises best. We also like the shareholder benefit rate at 14 days too!

Not sure that I'd like more than 15 days though. I get a little antsy at the end..
