  1. Everyone has offered really greAt tips. May I also suggest lubricated eye drops? Not medicated. I often find that my eyes really feel dry on flights.

Have a lovely time on your vacation. We sail next May on Princess Rome/Barcelona.

  2. The HOHO bus does come to a dock, but there are several docks and it may not necessarily be your ship. On cruise ship port days the HOHO is overwhelmed by passengers with full buses arriving at stops and no one able to get on. I would be very reluctant to advise you to depend on the buses to get to your ship. We spent 5 days in Copenhagen before our Baltic cruise last August and the Regal Princess was docked quite far away and not on the HOHO line.

  3. I take one pill in am and one at night, starting before my flight. Letting the chewable kind dissolve under your tongue is is best. Ask at your pharmacy for the "behind the counter" brand.[/quote)

Exactly. I start 24hours before my cruise, and take one chewable tablet morning and night for the duration of the cruise.

I use ginger "chewable" candies as needed.

  4. Dear Cotswald Eagle,

No, I did not contact a physician in the UK, however I definitely would have seen a physician before running out of medication. It was only because I was confident of assigned seats on a flight for home that I instead split my medications for four days and did not ask the hotel for a physician referral. We have used the UK health system on a previous trip and had a very good experience in an otherwise uncomfortable illness. As I said, lesson learned!!

  5. Sauer-Kraut....your comment to pack extra meds is spot on. We completed a Regal Princess cruise in Copenhagen on Sept. 9th, flew to Gatwick and were unexpectedly delayed to Orlando for 5 days due to hurricane Irma. I did not have prescription bottles, but had pre-packed daily doses in the "weekly" containers. I ended up splitting my blood pressure medications for the last four days to make them last. Won't make that mistake again.

  6. Having just returned from Carnival Paradise to Cuba....our Visa was tAken by immigration and kept. We had our passports on us at all times while ashore, they were needed to go thru passport control to 're-board the ship. We felt safe and welcomed by everyone we met. Person to person requirements are discussed at length on other sites. Enjoy yourself. A very interesting e experience. We would definitely go back. Yes, walk around and explore. Enjoy every minute!

  7. Lois, May I suggest trying out your Skechers before you travel? I have a pair that initially felt wonderful but rub my heels to the point of blisters. I only wear them at home for short times. As others have mentioned, I bring 2-3 pairs of shoes to rotate. I find that although my shoes fit well, they wear differently, and at the end of a long day walking I have somewhat different "aches" from different shoes. I would prefer to use luggage space for shoes than extra clothes. I can do laundry on a cruise, but having sore feet makes for a miserable and long day.

  8. Our first Carnival cruise was on Fantasy for New year's day 1998. We were travelling with three teenage girls aged 19,15 and 11. We were off to a horrid, teenage hormonal start...and had to go to a muster drill in our life jackets. It was awful, until we met the other couple who sat with us. The man must have been a stand up comic. He charmed all three daughters, turned their moods completely around, and had us all laughing to start our cruise. I was very grateful!!! (And I still have the pictures). We thought about posing for a 20 year anniversary picture...
