So I booked a last minute cruise. I booked Tuesday to leave Sunday. I don't have an assigned room yet and I was wondering when I could expect one. Also if it comes late and isn't printed on my e docs will I have issues at check in?

I would like to purchase an internet package (social media one) for the escape. It’s $87 but we are docked in Bermuda for 3 days. Trying to figure out if it’s worth it. Also it says 15% discount for booking online prior to sail away. Is this try and is it worth it

There was a similar thread about 2-3 weeks ago with people lamenting about the last minute deals had vanished this year so maybe find that for some feedback.

So I am looking to take the May 29th- June 4th cruise on the Breakaway from NYC sailing to Bermuda. I was planning to book it first week of May, but I have been watching the prices for the last week or so and all the sailings to Bermuda from NYC have been fluctuating. Last year I got an AMAZING deal on the Gem a week and a half before sailing. I am not locked into that specific date but any suggestions on the best time to book last minute? 1 week prior 2 weeks prior? I am price watching daily!!

Iconcierge you can use for free to check your account charges and transactions, see what is going on (same info as dailies), look up excursions, restaurants, and more.
For $10 you can message other guests (who also paid) or call them unlimited and it works great.
Internet packages are expensive!!! $75 for 100 minutes and $125 for 250 minutes $200 for unlimited. Latitudes members bronze and up get extra minutes with a purchase.
I booked last minute so I hadn't made any reservations. My family had reservations and added us to them on the ship. I made a reservation for Teppanyaki on the ship but the only available times where late.
I plan on posting a longer review Monday when I get on my computer will share the link to that when I do.

I just got off the Gem and had a great time! I ate at all the specialty restaurants except Le Bistro. I have lots of pics and all the dailies but I'm not sure how to post them (when I use cc directly they are very small). I will be happy to answer and questions anyone has also. If someone can tell me how to upload the pictures and dailies I will post them also!!!!!

I am keeping my fingers crossed!! For the price I paid I cant even complain with a low deck inside room, thats how good the deal was!! I am still hopefull for a nice upgrade!! We will see, still nothing yet! lol

Thanks everyone I called the special needs desk to just to confirm everything. It is added to her profile when I get on the ship I have to see the restaurant manager and they will take care of everything. I feel confident with all of your input, feedback, and referrals that she will be well fed and fine lol We are Italian and one thing we love to do is EAT and as an older cousin I need to make sure the little one is well fed hahahaha thank you all again!!

So here's what happened! I booked an inside guarantee Sunday online immediately after they told me on the phone it was sold out!! Still haven't been assigned a room now ocean views are sold out!!!! Is it possible that I will be that lucky and get a balcony ? Ship sails Saturday!! Any one experience similar?

We are on the Gem in August and our daughter was diagnosed with Coeliac Disease just 3 weeks ago. We have always known a whole bunch of people whose kids are "gluten sensitive" so hadn't realised that full blown Coeliac Disease is so serious (our daughter ended up in emergency and being admitted to hospital for 2 days because she was so ill...).
Anyway, I called and spoke to the reservations dept the other day and asked them to mark down the new diagnosis and the need for gluten free food. The agent put a note on the file and forwarded an email separately to the special requirements department as well. We were told that we also need to see the catering director soon after boarding to confirm the requirement.
I'm hoping it all goes smoothly...
I have done the same and will be doing the same on the ship. I am confident that it will go well, thanks to prior cruisers with similar needs. I will keep you posted as to our experience when I return. I am traveling with my 18 year old cousin who has Celiac Disease, and is newly diagnosed (within the last year). I was extremely concerned and worried since I don't know as much about what she can and can not have as her parents would, and they have entrusted her to me hahaha!! She is pretty much aware of what is good or bad but I just get concerned that I wont know if she is right or wrong lol

Hey everyone just wondering if anyone who has sailed on the Gem had experience with Gluten Free menus or options. I know they will accommodate this in the Dining room but what about other places?
Any specialty dining have Gluten Free options on the menu?
Experience with choices or options?
Was the it good?
