  1. I found this website and emailed the Melia resort about it: https://www.bookatourcaribbean.com/MeliaNassauDayPass

The Melia said that it is a legitimate website and that they would honor passes bought through them, but they still tried to tell me that I should buy passes directly from them instead. They said they're having a promotion where they will take $5 off per adult pass if you sign up for their rewards program. Even with the discount, it's still less for us to go through the website because the kids prices are a lot less. I haven't decided whether to buy ahead of time through the website or buy when I get there in case we change our minds about going.

  2. Thank you so much for the replies! I guess I'm just being overly cautious now that we have kids. I never felt unsafe when were in Nassau before, but the recent warnings have made me think maybe things have changed. I was just imagining the bad things that could happen on both the taxi and jitney, but I'm glad to hear they both seem like safe options and it's more a matter of time and money on which option to take.

  3. We are considering doing at beach day at the Melia, but I'm a bit concerned about safety getting there. My husband and I have been to Nassau a few times (even walked a good bit of the island getting to different forts), but this will be our first time taking our kids off the ship. Would it be safer to take the #10 jitney or a taxi?
