we currently have a regular aft facing balcony (no suite, just regular) so the balcony is a bit larger than a standard balcony. Would having the oversized balcony on the aft affect your decision to upgrade?

Ha!! Thank you so much for sharing! I would never have considered the Haven rooms if not for the size of the aft room.... we most likely wouldn't do the ensuite dining or concierge services but the room size is what we are looking for.... the ship is the Breakaway as well and its the aft penthouse. I just cant decide if the $1800 is worth it just to not feel cramped for the week lol!

DH and I cruised many times but not since we had a baby. We never felt overly cramped and were satisfied with the standard room and never felt the need for extra room or amenities. We are ready to start back up our cruising fun with her included....my question is, has anyone who has travelled with a toddler (3,4,5 year old) felt too cramped in a standard balcony cabin? We are toying around the idea of upgrading to a haven aft suite for $1800 more. I don't know what to do. What are your experiences and would you consider paying $1800 more for almost triple the space since there will be 3 people in one room?

Just wondering....what is the cheapest you have seen for a Haven room? Any room category or type...even with an upsell...how much did you get it for?

thank you for the responses... I don't care about the first 3 miles or so but what I would care about is if Bermuda was one of these ports that also charges the tax. Does anyone know? Is it just NY or is it Bermuda too? Also, does this tax just get added to the onboard bill?

We are leaving from New York to Bermuda. What is the sales tax? How much is it and how do i know when it's in effect?

if a person has the UDP, is it effective the minute you get on the cruise and for the entire duration? I feel like I've read few reviews mentioning there wan extra fee for drinks wile in port but I cat find any definitive information. Are there any other fees we will have to pay for drinks while having the UDP?

Hello everyone! I am brand new to these boards- they have been so helpful in providing information to a new family ready to start loving crusing!

We are booked on the Breakaway. Its me, DH, and DD (3). We have SDP for 4 nights booked. Here are a few of my questions!

1. What exactly is included in the SDP these 4 nights? It says one entrée but what about appetizer(s) or dessert?

2. What do we do about DD (3)? She eats very small meals and is not included in the SDP.... do we pay OOP for her?

3. Does NCL offer a specialty captain night in the MDRs with a fancy menu? When is this night typically? which brings me to my next question....

4. How can I know which nights to book my specialty restaurants in advance? What I mean is, is there any way to know what the MDR will offer in advance so that I can make reservations at the other restaurants when I don't prefer the food?

5. Are there any boards/websites that I can go on to look at guests photos of the Breakaway? I would love to see pics of food!

6. Is there somewhere that lists all the restaurants, if they serve BLD, and the hours? I see I can view deck plans online but I was looking for more of a paper with hours and what they serve.
