  1. We just got off the Majestic a couple weeks ago.

there is no sanctuary on Majestic.  Majestic is different than the other Princess ships.  Instead they have an area called the Hollywood conservatory.  We loved that area.  And it is open to everyone, it is not a “paid” area.  It has amazing views at the front of the ship.

The indoor pool area also has amazing views and cabana areas.  Again no extra charge for that.

I have attached a picture of one of the cabana areas at the indoor pool.  And one of the conservatory

We didn’t see all the shows but found the magician/comedian (forgot his name) really good.  We didn’t find the regular comedian very funny.

We will be on the Ruby Princess in August and wanted to see what time normally Princess will normally bring the husky puppies aboard the ship.  Trying to plan our shore trip and would like to see this is possible.

    Thanks!

On our recent trip on Majestic they had the puppies around 4pm.  But it could be different on different ships and sailings.

We went to watch from above, there was a really long line to see the puppies.  It made us glad we had done a shore excursion where we got to see puppies instead.  So my advice is you want to see them check what time and then show up really early.

  3. We got off Vision a few days ago.  The morning after we flew home my husband had a sore throat and my sinuses still hurt (started while on the plane and figured it was the pressure).  We both tested positive.  I did have a headache one day on the cruise but figured it was too much sun (I get headaches all the time).  For both we just feel like we have a mild cold and are pretty tired, but that’s also partially jet lag.

Really we acted like covid was not a thing on our trip and so did everyone else

around us.  We are all vaxxed including boosters.  We only wore masks on the airplane and on buses in Italy because it’s required.  We ate in the dining room and buffet.  We went to shows.  Used elevators.  Sat in crowded tenders and visited crowded tourist spots where almost nobody wore a mask.

We have zero regrets.  We’ve been so careful for the last 2 years.  We had an amazing trip and it felt so good to not even think or care about covid.  The symptoms we have now were so worth it.   I’ve had worse allergy seasons.

We have a October 30th sailing from Barcelona, and will present our card for the first two shots only.  We both had Omicron, have antibodies, and don't want the boosters .  Royal's policy seems confusing, what is actually going to happen?

You may also have to test to enter Spain if don’t have a booster.

We're getting ready to book a cruise.

Regarding booking direct with RCCL vs using a travel agent, do they both have access to the same cabins for new reservations?  If we want a specific cabin type, deck, location; which would be more likely to offer it to us?

Yes they do.  A travel agent would either call into royal or log into the reservation system.   They see the same cabins royal reservation agents can see.

  6. I can no longer modify 2 of my royal up bids (sailing is August 25th).   I can only modify one of them.   All three say “submitted”.

And now when I click on the original royal up email the two I can’t modify don’t even show up.

Anyone else have something like this?

  7. I can’t remember if there are spacious interiors on Brilliance.  But there are ultra spacious overview that sleep 6.  We were in one and loved it.  It is a huge cabin.  I would call and ask they put you there if they can’t give you what you originally booked.

We have boarded several times in Barcelona. After you go through security and take the escalator up there is a small liquor/wine shop.  We have always bought vodka and bourbon and then walked straight on.  Reality of two bottles of wine is two bottles per carryon.

Really? The store is after they scan your carryon bags?

We are sailing out of Barcelona so this is helpful to us.

Our 3 Royal Up bids have all  changed today from pending (which they have been for over 2 weeks) to submitted. Any idea what that means? I thought it went straight from pending to either an offer or offer expired. 24 days until we sail.

Mine have done the same.  We are just over 30 days out.

Those that have sailed from Barcelona. What is the earliest you can board the ship? The earliest option when completing on-line check in was 1pm. But I have heard people who board earlier than that. Not flying in on boarding day

If you got 1pm then go at 1pm.  There will be people that got an earlier time then you.   They may let you check in before your time.   But you don’t know for sure, and you are given a time for a reason.   It’s not really fair to those who say got an 11:30 time, if everyone else gets in line with them.

that's what I am concerned about.  Where we would end up landing.  I'm going to check into and see if I can see what upgrades are located and check with TA also.

If you are concerned about the location of a stateroom don’t bid on any category that has any in a location you may hate.  Don’t bother looking at what is available to book now, it means nothing.

Say there are ocean view balconies in areas you would hate.  Don’t bid on an ocean view balcony.   Even if you look and see what’s not booked and are happy with what is available right now.   Someone booked in a location you don’t like, could be upgraded to a suite.   Then you could get put in that balcony that you don’t like.   And there is no going back.  You can’t turn it down because you don’t like it.

Only book on a category if you will be happy with it wherever you are.

  12. This is no different from how non US citizens were treated for cruises that left from US ports.  Canadians would have to figure out tests and plan their flights home accordingly. Royal didn’t help them with that.  You just do what you have to do, including flying home the next day.

Canada had dropped their testing requirements now.  Maybe the US will do the same?

FWIW, we were on the Vision early this month.  (First cruise back after Vision resumed service.)  The crew was great, but the ship was tired.  I understand they are planning to dock her this summer and give her the once over.  We had a great time though and would happily sail her again.

They better not dock her this summer.  I’m supposed to be cruising the med on her lol.

  14. If my son talked to me like that I would tell him to change his attitude quickly or he won’t get to play any video games at all (and yes I have a son not much older who loves video games).

I believe they all have some x boxes but not sure what games.  And likely not the most recent ones.   Also they don’t have a huge number of systems so they won’t let him play all the time.   If that’s what he’s expecting he will be disappointed.
