We're leaving in 11 days (YIPPPEEE!) and I have a few questions, cruise lines seems to change their policies often.
Can I put a luggage tag on a small case of water?
Is their a mini-frig in the cabin?
How much is the internet package for a week?
Where is the best place to eat lunch for a vegan meal?
Thanks!

We will be in STT on 1/2/17 on the Epic. We dock at 12pm, and are there until 7pm. We are going to do the Paradise Point sky tram, and then head to the beach. There are two other ships in port that day, both docking from 7am - 5pm.
My choices are Morningstar, Sugar Bay, Magen's Bay, and Sapphire. Which would you pick? :)
My favorite beach is at Secret Harbour. Google it

Sophia was now begging to go back to the arcade. We talked her into playing at the playground a bit instead. Unfortunately, it was closed for Camp Carnival use. She could have stayed to play, but we would have had to go inside and check her in. We weren’t wanting to leave her, though. So we decided on some more mini golf. We even managed to catch the sunset out there!
The taste bar wasn’t open tonight, so we just went back to our room. Our towel animal was there waiting for us.
Coming up… Nassau!
I'm enjoying your review and thinking of our first cruise with our girls (ages 4 and 12). Lots of work but the memories were worth it. They are now 20 and 28 and we cruise alone. :( ENJOY!!

Is it true that not all cabins have a min-frig? How are the shows? Where can I get a listing? I'm a vegan, do they have a stir fry at the buffet?
Thanks

We want to do a 7 day western Caribbean cruise. NCL has free drinking on basically the same cruise as Carnival. It would save us about $130 to do NCL plus would save us air money since we could drive to New Orleans and not to Miami.
I know nothing about NCL or the ship Norwegian Dawn.
Anyone have an opinion on which would be better?
Does Carnival ever include the "free booze" package on their cruises?
We were on NCL (2nd time) last year and I WILL NEVER GO ON ANOTHER NCL AGAIN! They seem to nickel and dime you for everything. Many people had the booze package so they only had a few waiters before a show taking drink orders. Less waiters, less "free' booze! I don't like freestyle seating because you really can't get seated anytime you want - coincidentally many other people want to eat then too and it's usually a long wait. Room service was not free (only coffee). There was a charge for everything. They confiscate your luggage if you bring a wine on board. I carried my one bottle on (1.5) and was charge a $30 corkage fee.
Carnival is great as is RCL, Celebrity and Princess BUT NOT NCL!

Loved the rum runners for wine! Sure beats spending $10 for 6 ounces of chap wine on the ship!

Both your cabins have great balconies. We had 9318 two weeks ago. Here are some pictures, not taken by us. Very quiet and near the aft elevators. :) Both cabins will be exactly the same of course. The one next to 9320, 9322 is narrower.

Here is a video of 9318 on the Getaway, which is exactly the same.
THANK YOU everyone! We love aft balconies on all ships - and the view...spectacular! Never had a min-suite before and if it's only plus is a bathtub, I can live without that!
(If you ever have a chance to go on Celebrity Summit's corner aft balcony - you can party with 10 people comfortably on it!)
My parents have 9320. Janetz do you think the balcony divider looked as if it could be open?
One week away...NOW I'm really getting excited!!

We have the aft cabins 9320 and 9318 on the Breakaway. Our TA called the other day and asked if we wanted a free upgrade to mini suites on the 12th floor mid-ship. We only had a few hours to decide and we told him that we would keep our aft cabins.
Did we make the right decision?

You pay the corkage fee to bring the bottles on board. You are then free to consume the alcohol where ever you want. If you want to avoid the hassle, you can get an Adult Beverage Package which allows you to have as many drinks as you want throughout the cruise. Or pay by the glass (which is obviously what you are trying to avoid).
We once had a wine package and ordered a $29 of wine at a specialty restaurant. The waiter brought it over and did all the fancy hand waving movements as he poured the "expensive" wine. I took a picture of the label (thought it was pretty) and googled it when I got home. It was a $4 bottle of wine!!
Maybe he was trying to change cheap wine into good wine with all the hand movements.

Yes, it applies wherever you drink the wine. The corkage fee is payable when you board, so they have no idea where you will drink it.
Thank you!
I just noticed a whole thread on this topic on page 345.

The NCL policy is: Bringing wine or Champagne onboard: It's allowed, but you'll have to pay a corkage fee for all wine that is brought onboard. Fees are $15 for 750ml bottles, $20 for 1,000ml and $30 for 1,500ml. Boxed wine is not allowed.
My question is: Will the corkage fee apply if you want to drink wine in your
cabin?
Thank you

We have 2 aft balconies on the Breakaway on the 9th floor. Will they be able to open the dividing wall up? Who should we ask?
Thanks

I'm a (99%) vegan (I'll have shrimp once in awhile. Be careful while ordering if you don't eat dairy - they put cheese in everything!
Also, at stir-fry stations, I ask them NOT to put my food next to meat dishes. I once found a piece of pork in my food!

We just booked aft decks on the Breakaway with my parents. I was wondering if they could be opened.
Thanks
-
RC allows you to bring one (or is it 2?) bottles on board for the cabin.
Will Norwegian?

I read that the largest balconies were on 9, and then 12, 11, 10, 14 and 13.
We just booked neighboring aft cabins on deck 9 for us and my parents.
I am also a 99% vegan (I'll eat shrimp and clams but no meat, eggs, dairy...) and hope they'll have a nice stir fry.
It'll be our 2nd Norwegian cruise but first time on Breakaway.

Once an aft - always an aft for us!
-
Decks 9 and 12 have the deepest balcony. 9318 and 9320 have the widest balcony, avoid 9322 because it's more narrow.
There are youtube videos of 9318 and 9322 (Breakaway or Getaway).
Thanks! We booked 12906.

My husband and I are planning an October 2015 trip. Can anyone recommend a nice aft (B1) balcony please? Pictures and cabin number would be very helpful.
Thank you

Hi folks.
for our 25th anniversary, my wife and I decided to try something different so we booked a 9 night cruise on EotS leaving from New York in May.
Make sure you are outside while going under the Verrazano Bridge with a drink in your hand. This is the starting point to your trip! Enjoy!

Once you have an aft balcony you'll never want your cabin to be anywhere else on the ship.
Shhh - don't tell anyone.

Thinking of a Bermuda cruise this summer.. For anyone that has gone, did you enjoy it?What did you like/dislike about it?
Thinking of one in August that leaves from NJ/NY on the Explorer OTS.
We've been to Bermuda a number of times and LOVE it. I'd think twice about cruising in august though - hurricane season. LOVE the beaches, the cleanliness of the town, the people. Didn't like the price of the food on land.
-
The balconies in the cabins in the aft (width wide) of the ship are much larger than the regular balconies.

I wanted a nice cup of tea on my last cruise - but NO ONE DUNKED MY TEA BAG for me!
