  1. Hi

Off on Azura in just over a week with my in laws I have a couple of questions.

Do we need to put our cabin tags on the suitcase before we fly? We fly on Jet2 from Manchester is our luggage allowance the same as if we booked direct with Jet2 = 22 kgs?

If we arrive in Tenerife on time I think we should get to the ship around 1ish when we sailed on Britannia 2nd or 3rd cruise after the restart we had a suite and had a very nice relaxed sit down lunch in a dinning room I think it used to be a small buffet before the pause, we are in 2 suites for this sailing will we get a sit down lunch or will it be a scramble in the buffet?

Talking of suites we have one port side the other is starboard side on Riviera deck midships will we have the same butler it is my FIL 80th Birthday so we would like to do something special for him, is the balcony large enough for all of us to have lunch on a sea day on the balcony? Last question can my MIL bring knitting needles or are they banned she would obviously be knitting not just having them in her luggage LOL.

  2. We did the free testing in Barcelona, but was just as easy as Southampton didn't get a text but we all sat down in a small area and when they had tested about 30 people if all clear they came over and said we were all clear and we could carry on with the rest of the boarding process. I know it could be different in Athens but was excellent in Barcelona.

  3. Had a call from the suite concierge yesterday asking if we wanted to go to the happy hour for drinks, asked him when the happy hour was he said it could be from 8am he would make it happen for me 🤣we went not long after he called, we were offered red, white or fizzy wine 🍾with cheese, we both had 2 glasses each before dinner at no cost and not added to the drinks package. Enjoying our balcony today, breakfast room service is not the best order was missing poached eggs yesterday and they missed  eggs with bacon & sausage today, back to Sabatini's tomorrow. Having a great time on board, Marseille tomorrow 😁

  4. I am also on the cruise, we arrived at the port at 11am did the free Princess test at the port and we were on board by 11:40am. We had a lovely lunch in the MDR. We are in a suite and ate the first night in the Crown Grill. I was very surprised that out cabin steward delivered a kettle with tea & coffee didn't have the heart to say I never drink tea or coffee.  Last night we ate in the club class restaurant it was only club class quests in the whole restaurant. The ship seems very empty plenty of loungers everywhere. Had a letter in the cabin that says suite guests can use the Enclave went down there boarding day and they confirmed it was true although they gave us a quick tour they didn't seem impressed that they could not sell us anything.🤣 Internet is very slow and the medallion app does not always allow you to order from it but the crew are walking around on deck taking orders so not really a problem.

  5. We went on the Regal in August this year 1st time in a suite on Princess, 1st night we went to the Crown grill, not impressed the steak was not good the meal was so disappointing we said that we would never go again, even if we were in a suite & it was free the service was very good though. The MDR, we were in the club class section the menu for me was uninspiring very heavy on the sea food (I don't eat sea food) so not many options I like veggie food but don't want to eat it as a main meal. So usually there was only one option for me to choose from, not sure what the club class special was or if there even was one.

  6. Sabatini's is open on disembarkation day

Why any suite guest would settle for a lesser meal outside of Sabatinis is beyond me.

It's a partnership I do things my partner wants my partner does things I want, my partner prefers having breakfast on the balcony watching the sea. I prefer having a better breakfast over the view. We had a suite on P&O last month and the breakfast in the suite on the balcony was fabulous much better than Princess so no need to go to the speciality restaurant which was about the same as Sabatini's breakfast. We did the speciality restaurant the  first morning but the butler persuaded us to have it on the balcony the second morning and I am glad he did. Everyone is different we all need to be accepting if others like different things.

  7. Thought I posted this last night, guess I had to many drinks 🤣🍾

Thanks for the reply's sorry been to dinner and then to Crooners hence a late response, I would go to Sabatini's every morning but my partner is not a breakfast person so on the balcony is a good compromise. Just got back to the suite and we now have the full room service breakfast menu. I will

absolutely try Sabatini's the last morning hopefully one other day as well. First time in a suite on Princess and loving it.

  8. Hi Currently on board Regal Princess, we had breakfast on the balcony this morning ordered from the card in the room last night, the room steward did mention about an enhanced room service menu but he has not given it to us. breakfast turned up on time but cold it clearly came from the Horizon court buffet, tomorrow we are going to try Sabatini's for breakfast but my question is can we order a proper full breakfast from the dining room  to be delivered to our suite, a full English with baked beans etc? Thanks in advance

When I get back I will do a report on the cruise and compare it to P&O's Britannia which we did at the start of July.

    Thanks for the info.

What time was check in to enable you to get the 'suite lunch'?

Our check in was 11:30 we arrived around 11:00 waited till 11:30ish the porters took your luggage after checking what check in time you had, if it was after 11:30 they sent to you the back to deposit your luggage at another line. Then the process of checking in started checked vaccine dates and insurnace then covid test, health questionnaire even though done on line had to go through it again then wait for covid results. Then get passport checked and wait in the suite waiting area ready to board. got on board around 1pm went to the lunch around 2pm not many people in the dining room when we arrived was lovely and quiet. had a great lunch. there is a menu that was posted on the staycation thread. We loved our suite  and have a suite booked on the Regal Princess next month so will be comparing the two products.

  10. We were on Britannia for the 1st July sailing our first suite as well, we had priority boarding, daily canapes or though nothing special, dinner menu in cabin after the 1st night, room service was free had a full breakfast (absolutely fabulous) and late night snack, didn't ask the butler to unpack or make dinner reservations, chocolates & champagne were in cabin on arrival. The suite lunch was great had turn down service every day (some have reported they did not get a turn down service) we have a suite on the Regal Princess next month so shall be comparing the two products.
