I've found that the RCI and Celebrity drink policies both work OK for us. My wife doesn't drink at all but she wants a couple of bottles of water for our stateroom. I drink maybe a glass of wine in the evenings. We used our RCI drink allowance mostly for specialty coffee or bottled water.
We are Elite Plus so we get all the specialty coffee / tea we need on Celebrity.
I did like the old Celebrity Captain's Club Happy Hour in the Sky Lounge as we met a lot of great people that way. But we can make do.

I have also booked a couple of specialty restaurants for our Feb 17, 2024 sailing. I was worried that if we waited until we were aboard our desired times might be booked up.

I honestly have things I like about all Celebrity ships. Try the Edge class…it may surprise you!
Maybe if a good deal becomes available on a Transatlantic cruise. I think we'd probably just get an Oceanview if available.

We did a *lot* of cruising on Celebrity from 2006 - 2018. Then after a 2019 cruise on RCI came COVID. Last year we went on another RCI cruise to use up credits we had from Canceled COVID dates.
Now we are coming back to Celebrity as we got a good deal on a Caribbean cruise on Reflection.
We'll see how it goes. We don't have high expectations, we have Elite Plus status so we get a number of perks.
I doubt we'll ever cruise on E class - the IV "balconies" look ridiculous and we would never pay the kind of money Celebrity is asking for a suite. We also don't like the creeping stratification going on with Edge where you can't even go near the bow of the ship unless you pay a premium.
Fortunately at our age, the S class ships will be around as long as we can cruise.

@senorbanda any decisions yet on your next TA? We really enjoyed meeting you and it was great to hear from you after the cruise.
Haven't had a chance to gnaw on a T-bone since. :)

Does anyone know if Captain Dimitrios Kafetsis is back on Silhouette?
Yes he was on our Feb 21-28 Western Carib. cruise.

Of the 3 we've sailed on I like Silhouette the best. Silhouette got all the funky art from the Mercury and then some. The Hideaway lounge is one of my favorite spots on the ship.

Could not disagree more with above comments about Mellissa. We are not super Elite nor do we bully anyone, but when we met her this time she remembered us by sight, the fact that we usually travel with our small grandchildren. She was around the Lounges every evening to say hello to the folks who were there. We did not have an Elite lounge per se on the Transatlantic this time. Nobody got ignored as far as I could see.
I do agree that Jenny is also a terrific CC Hostess.

:( had so hoped Jenny would still be onboard Infinity when we sailed next month
Not to worry. Mellissa is wonderful. Have sailed with her 3 times and she's our favorite CC Hostess.
Jenny needed a break after a couple of extra months work.

Yes Captain Sympouras is the Master of Infinity as of May 13. Tom Hinderhoefer continues as Staff Captain.
I do not know who replaced Alejandro as Cruise Director. He left the ship at the same time we did to go to Silhouette.
-
We were on Infinity for the British Isles Cruise that ended May 24.
CC Hostess Jenny now off on vacation and Mellissa Snow has returned as CC Hostess after a cruise of training someone on Equinox.
CD Alejandro moved to Silhouette but he didn't say who was replacing him on Infinity.
How is Celebrity for kids?

My grandkids loved the Kid's Club activities on Celebrity when they were younger. Now they would likely prefer RCI. However we still base our choice on itinerary. I'm sure the grandkids would prefer a Celebrity cruise to staying at home.
