  1. Looking for recommendations for Skagway bicycle tour with kids under 13 (about 8-12 years old). My wife and I were in Alaska years ago and had a blast in Skagway doing the jeep tours into the Yukon. We are now returning with our children (9,13,14) and friends with their children this summer. Looks like most jeep tours have had it at this point so looking at other things. The bicycle tours look great, but both independent and through the cruise it seems the age limits are 13 and up which eliminates a lot of the kids in the group. Most of them are 8-12 years old, good at riding gear bikes and somewhat large for their age. I can see the reasoning on the limit for the downhill one, but the rainforest bicycle tours seem perfect. Are there any recommendations? We are trying to not to make every stop a hike so would be open to any excursions people have to recommend. We want to be on the adventurous side (not just sitting on a tour bus) and around $100 a head (so no float planes etc). We are already planning to do whale watching in Icy Strait. Thanks
  2. Thanks for the review! Their new boat is supposed to hold up to 24 it seems.
  3. Thanks for the confirmation! I talked to one of the owners and she was very nice and sounds like a nice operation.
  4. Our group of friends and all our children have Icy Strait for one of our ports this summer and while I have heard great things about Glacial Winds and others, we are going to be a group of 23 total. I wondered if anyone has gone with Captain Duane on Icy Straight What Adventures? Looks like a solid operation and I nice boat. I searched and didn't see any reviews. Thanks
  5. Thanks for the reply. I'm sure you know what your talking about, but just trying to help out. I had been watching the official alaskarailroad.com site for a some time and they didn't open up tickets until last week. Are you sure you didn't book with Alaskatrain.com, alaskatravel.com or one of the other sites? There are many sites that have obviously replicated the look and feel of the official site to make it harder for people to tell the difference. It seems that they are legit, but often third party travel offices that are charging more. No worries if you aren't worried, just thought I would try to help out. I'm all booked for my group as of last week.
  6. Just an update for anyone waiting. The official Alaska Railroad site (https://www.alaskarailroad.com/) opened up their bookings for next Summer (2023) yesterday.
