  1. We are doing a B2B cruise starting in March 2018. 14 day Asia cruise to Yokohama, followed by a 29 day Asia and Trans-Pacific crossing. At this point we also need to change cabins, moving 3 doors up at the end of the first segment. This may change around the time of final payments due.

We would like to travel from Yokohama to Tokyo (and back) at the end of the first segment.

Wondering if we need to attend a second muster drill? We don't sail till 8pm, so some extra time for Tokyo would be fantastic.

We did a Collectors Cruise in the Med last year and only had to do one muster drill.

  2. Sadly, no. The only reciprocity I know of within the Carnival group is HAL's recognition of other lines as a 1-star mariner.

I feel your pain. I was Platinum on Cunard when I was only a 1-star and could have used reciprocal benefits for quite a few years.

The good news is that the Cunard onboard experience does not vary a lot by World Club level. No such thing as priority tendering for high level members. The main things you will miss are priority embarkation and disembarkation.

You will miss some financial incentives like a few hours of free wifi.

Have a great first Cunard cruise.

Thank you for the fast reply. I had a sad feeling this would be the case. But will still book the transatlantic. Will allow us to get home to Perth, Western Australia in a more relaxed way than flying home from New York (about 30 hours+). Qantas is introducing direct flights from London to Perth (and vice-versa) next March. Will get to do the transatlantic, which we want to do, spend a few days in London and have a shorter flight home. Bonus in every way, even without the 4 star Mariner benefits.

  3. Bolding mine.... this is worth noting as you can make purchases in the shops that are quite high but, as stated here, you can only "earn" as many "spending cruise days" as the length of the cruise. You can only earn 10 "spending cruise days" on a 10 day cruise, 13 on a 13 day cruise, etc.

Just to add, if you book a suite you get 'double' cruise day credits. Book a suite for a 10 day cruise, you get 20 cruise day credits. But, you can only earn a maximum of 10 'spending cruise days' credits (equal to the length of the cruise). For example, the maximum you can earn on a 10 day cruise, with a suite booked, is 30 days credit.

  4. We used Shareashoreexcursion in Livorno in June. Everyone in the group of 8 had been to Florence before. Shareashorexcursion was able to recommend alternatives for us.

Our driver met us at the ship, great van, very comfortable, lots of room and great view from large windows for everyone. Driver was professionally dressed, excellent driver.

Drove through the Tuscan countryside to San Gimigiano, arrived before all the crowds. Great timing. Onto Greze, stopping at a market in a small town on the way.

Shareashoreexcurion had suggested a winery tour (they made a recommendation of a winery) and everyone had agreed before we left for the cruise. We went to Castello di Verrazano, tour of the gardens and the winery, then a fantastic lunch, with a wine tasting that will never be forgotten. Not just little glasses - and amazing wine.

It was an excellent day and a highlight of the cruise.
