  1. When we were getting ready to get off in Victoria Canada, Oceania  Used facial recognition software When we exited the ship and when we came back on. I was wondering if any of the other ships use that recently?

  2. You are correct I could have done that I just didn't even think about at the time period the only cruise line that I've ever been on is on is this cruise line and they used to serve With all the fresh fruit there Where you get the smoothies. It really wasn't that big a deal.. I love this cruise line and will never go on any other one

  3. I was disappointed that they don't use Fruit to make the smoothies all they use is a liquid,     strawberry ,banana. I just got off the cruise ship yesterday From Alaska.  I tested myself for  COVID-19 and tested  Positive.  I had a good cruise Just throwing out that information. I have several cruises on Oceania

  4.   Good evening, I have been on several Oceania  Cruises. My husband and I will be cruising on the vista next August London to London.  I was wondering what's the best way to travel to the cruise ship port .Not taking the transfers  I probably will stay In a hotel near the cruise ship the night before. I realize this is still over a year away II asked the question on the vista row call but no one responded. Thank you

  5. Good morning delee78:

Thank you for all the information. We are arriving at 4:30 a m. Because I wasn't getting information about the holding room last week we purchased the transfer. Only because I had talked to a travel agency that told me that either they put you up in a hotel holding area or Pier area probably what you mentioned.

We picked this particular Cruise because we love the sea days. Husband and myself were both in the United States Navy, so being on a cruise ship is absolutely wonderful because we don't have to work a 16-hour day. And we can just relax. We are on inside cabin so I know from previous Oceania Cruises that we will not get aboard until 1 p.m. .

Thank you I am so pleased that I finally found somebody to be able to answer my question about the holding room. This is our fourth Cruise on Oceania and honestly it's the only Cruise Line we've been on because we've had no negative experiences.

  6. Dear cswhister, I like to thank you for your positive and very informational response.

Sometimes when I read these boards they are so negative. But every once in a while I will get informative answers & enjoy getting information

    Thank you very much

  7. Good morning everyone. I asked the following question on the Regatta forum for March 16th Cruise from Tahiti to San Diego.

My question is we have paid for a transfer from the airport in Tahiti to what they call a holding area near the ship I assume, before we can board at 1 p.m. that day. My question is I realize you can visit the island but does anyone know what this holding area is like if we chose to stay there for the five hours or so before we board the ship? Has anyone ever done this?

  8. I am taking the cruise on Regatta March 16th 2019. The cruise goes from Tahiti to San Diego. I was wondering other than using the cruise lines transfer what people recommend transportation from the airport to the cruise ship import.

I will be flying and using Oceania air transportation. Also was wondering if anyone else has used the cruise lines air? Do they just put about two or three hundred people on a charter plane and fly over to Tahiti leaving Los Angeles late at night? Thank you in advance for your information

  9. Thank you everyone I have found that I always learn a lot by reading these posts. I was wondering if anybody could tell me if will be able to pick our seats on the charter flight or well the charter flight pick the seats for you. Someone told me that the configuration in the plane is two 4 two. I was just curious

  10. First I want to thank everybody for posting their responses to my question about Tahiti. But I did have another question does Oceania transfer you to the ship from the airport inother words do I need to pay for a transfer from the airport. I don't mind spending the money if it is the safest way to get from the airport to the cruise ship and I was wondering if anybody knows what that cost. And also do we get to pick our seats on this contract flight or does the airline do the picking of seats. We are not taking the airfare back home. I'm trying to get a military plane back home. Thanks again everybody for your help this is the first time I've ever posted anything on a computer at all I usually just read Cruise critic's questions and answers

  11. Thank you for responding I don't mind taking Oceania arrange flights I would imagine that I would be leaving the day before. I guess I probably should pay for the transfer from the airport in Tahiti to the ship. I really can't afford business class the way I'd like to go so whether I'm going economy on United or an airline of Oceania choosing really doesn't matter. We don't have any excursions planned the next day so if I'm tired that's okay too. I was more curious to know if the contracted flight they pick the seats or do we get to go on the airline and pick seats to travel there. We pick this Cruise because my husband and I are prior Navy and we really like to see time on a cruise ship so much better than the seat I'm on a Navy ship where you work 16-hour days

  12. I'm cruising on Regatta March 16th from Tahiti to San Diego has anybody ever taken this cruise and flown out of Los Angeles. Wondering what Oceania does as far as airliner do they contract out and if so what is that like or when do you leave
