  1. Hi, I'm looking to book two rooms on deck 2 that are part of the Family Harbor series.  I've talked so a few people and they said there was so much noise from above.  One had a room below the club/bar and one below the Galley.  The Galley takes up a huge part of deck 3. I really don't want to pay a premium for these rooms to then not be able to sleep.  Anyone have any other experience and can tell me which rooms you booked.  We currently have 2409 and 2423. Thanks

  2. We are booked on the seranade to Bermuda in October the week of Columbus Day and I'm wondering if there will be anything related to Halloween? We also cruise disney and they offer halloween themed cruises the entire month of October. We decided on Royal this time due to the price and are wondering what to expect.

  3. ROFL!!!!! Lets teach people how to circumvent the Cheers rule too. Priceless.

Well to be fair, they need 2 rooms with 5 people so it's not their fault that they don't charge the whole family. I don't drink so why should I have to buy a package just because my husband does?

  4. I'm taking advantage of Cheers with the two room option. My son and I are assigned to one cabin, my wife and two daughters are in the adjoining cabin. When I ordered Cheers for my cabin, I was charged for only one person.

Yes so this was also her situation, but she was trying to tell me that even if her and her husband were in one room they wouldn't both have to pay which is false.

  5. Your friend is mistaken, this copied from carnival :

Each adult assigned to the same stateroom must purchase the program.

yes I saw that on their site and mentioned it but she is arguing. I figured there was not a loop hole especially for this package!

  6. Someone mentioned in another Carnival group that they were told on board that they didn't have to buy a Cheers packages for both adults in a room. That being said she did say her and her husband were in 2 separate rooms so I think they were confused by that on board. But she swears they told her even if they were both in the same room they would only have to buy one. I barely drink so it's pointless for my husband and I to both get it, but he would certainly benefit from it. I'm prepared to just pay per drink at this point but if there is an option to just get him the package I would like to. Hopefully this post isn't too confusing :)

  7. Check in normally starts at 9:30 outside in the plaza, formerly at the Queen Mary. Boarding normally starts around 11:30. Wedding parties go first then Diamond, platinum and balconies, then FTTF. Process normally takes 15-20 minutes. Then they start with Zones. Staggered check in is not enforced in Long Beach yet, however you still have to pick a time or one will be picked for you. After the dome opens for boarding and plaza is cleared from guests that have already checked in,then all check in is inside the dome.

Normally = all things go right with debark and customs.

With FTTF, I would get there about 11:00 check in outside in the FTTF line, if you want to be on the ship as soon as possible

Thanks, JB! This is exactly the kind of info I needed. I have gone through my online check in and it does not give me an option to pick a check in time, but I do not cruise until 3/2018 so maybe that is why?

  8. Yep. Celebrity. They allow absolutely no indoor smoking and outdoor smoking is restricted to just a couple of areas. Its quite wonderful. You are going to pay more than you would for a comparable five day cruise on Carnival, but in addition to the restrictive smoking policy you will have better food, more polished service and less noise. Plus with the perks promotions they run you may not really pay much more if you get paid gratuities, free internet, free beverage packages and/or shipboard credits. We like Carnival fine and will still sail with then when it makes sense to, but Celebrity really does a very nice job.

Reading through this my first thought was Celebrity too, we sailed them in July it was fantastic!!

  9. Your comment is rude and unnecessary. I've never cruised with my children before, and when I checked my cabin configuration on the deck plan it mentioned only 2 twin beds, nothing was said about pulldowns. Also, my confirmation on the Carnival website says 2 twin beds. It's obvious from my post that my main idea is that I would not pay for a whole separate room-period. I stated clearly in this post that we'll figure out alternative sleeping arrangements if there were indeed pull down beds. In the past, my husband and I had the twins converted to a king so this wasn't an issue.

When you log in to manage your acct there is somewhere that shows the twin/king configuration. I just switched ours the other day!

  10. They do give out phones to the parents of kids in the 3-5 age group (not sure on the exact age but I do know its for the little ones). I always get a phone due to my son having epilepsy also so if your kids have any medical conditions they will give you one. It also depends on how many kids are registered.

Thanks, I'll have one in the 3-5 group and one that will be 10 so I guess I'll have to figure out what to do for him.

  11. I saw on the website that there are some phones I can rent for when my kids are in the clubs. How does that work? Are there enough phones to go around or is it possible I won't get one. How else would they notify me if my kids want to come out of the club?

  12. She was giving her personal experience about the situation

I have also been on the Disney boat and asked for milk in the evening and every night after that it was there when I arrived for dinner

Same here with Disney, I just expected it to be like that on every cruise line. Glad to hear milk is an option. I'm trying to make sure I know all the differences between disney and carnival

  13. I tried looking up FTTF on the website but I keep getting a "bad request" screen anytime I try to navigate from the main things. What is FTTF? I see from the other responses it gets you on board quicker, if you didn't book it what time would you normally get on board? We normally cruise disney and are on by 11am. What does FTTF cost?
