  1. Hi...we will be having our first cruise on a Cunard ship in November...its a short one to Bruge from Southampton.

We thought we would try it as a change...we have done Princess, Disney, P&O etc...what are these short cruises like?..can you get a real feel of Cunard? Or are they completely different all together?

Still really looking forward to it what ever happens and also looking at booking a short Queen Victoria one.

  2. Hi...I have booked a cruise to Cuba on Easy pay and have paid just over 500 dollars....it's for April 2020...for my husband's 70th all being well.

It looks like I will have to cancel it...I am in the UK and everything I look for ie the terms etc...there is an error saying not your area.

I know I will have to forfeit the deposit ...will the rest of the money go back on my card?

    Thanks

    .

  3. More a question, I think, of no two people being alike. We found the food last time to be excellent in the MDR and the buffet (not keen on the way people behave there, though) - and we're both pretty fussy about food.

Some people do like to complain, though. A guy on our table kept banging on about the poor quality of the food, but a little further discussion with him pretty soon established that he knew as much about food as a clock. Full of bluster and bravado, trying to impress, but actually making himself look rather silly.

    @

We are not one for complaining...all though we had every right to...we were were not saying the food was bad just really cold every day.

We have a lot to compare with...it's not much to ask for.

  4. Awfull being cold every day...DH never complains about food...but he never had one hot meal...either in the MDR or buffet.

The cruise itself was enjoyable Norway stunning and we met a lots of nice fellow cruisers on-board....maybe we have been spoilt with Disney etc...but DH was expecting more from P&O.

  5. We came off the Azura last week...A Norwegian Fjord cruise.

The food was really awfull...we only ate in the MDR for two nights...the rest in the buffet which was not much better...everything was cold...and too many curries.

But we got to Norway after a Force 11 Gale and the place was stunning.

  6. I think so 😃

    It's on A deck...looks good.

Just glad to have a balcony really...as apart from one Disney cruise we always have an inside.

    DH does not know yet😂😂

I have just looked at it properly and it looks like I done well..I had booked H/F at the beginning and got H/A.

  7. That's great so hopefully we won't have to wait too long we sail 16th May

Were you happy with your cabin?

    I think so 😃

  8. I just love the sea, but I think we 'got the bug' when we did a 3 day mini cruise to Egypt / Israel from Cyprus for hubby's 40th birthday. She was only a small Louis Cruise ship, the Princess Marissa, but we had an amazing time and the views from the cabin window were incredible. I remember sitting at the back of the ship under the stars with a pot of tea (yip, we have changed somewhat since then!) and decided there and then that we would look in to cruising for a holiday. I remember being docked in Limassol by what we thought was a HUGE cruise ship and never thought in a million years that we would have been able to go on so many cruises since. We've since noticed in our photos that the 'huge' ship was the Celebrity Millenium, so am guessing that the Marissa was smaller than we thought! :D

    I could of wrote this!

Our first time was also Egypt from Cyprus...we went again the following year and then went onto bigger ships...that's how we fell in love with cruising.

  9. We have done Princess twice..Carnival once... NCL once and Disney once...but also have two Disney transatlantics booked and another one on NCL.

We have enjoyed everyone of them! each have their own merits

Princess was for our 25th Wedding Anniversary and my 50th Birthday and it was fabulous for meeeting eveyone and really dressing up! Very Expensive price

Carnival was because we were doing all the theme parks in Orlando and wanted a little cruise for DGD1 to end her holiday and it was so good we all enjoyed it and had so much fun with her! Really cheap price.

NCL because I wanted to go to Belize and Costa Maya and they fitted the bill!

And met some lovely people also. Reasonable price.

And last year we done Disney with our two youngest DGDS who were 5 and 8 at the time...it was a fabulous cruise ...we all had so much fun...they were so happy and so were we...everything fell into place...so much so that we have booked two more and will be going with adults. Very Expensive ...but the Transatlantics so cheap!

The NCL one is for my 60th Birthday and is going to the places I want to in the Med. Really Cheap!

We also done a Cape Canaveral cruise in its day when I got to sit next to the Captain at dinner and we only paid buttons for that cruise and it got me to swim with dolphins in Grand Bahama!

At the end of the day a cruise is a cruise and any cruise is fabulous...its what you make of it and not what you pay for it and we have only ever done inside cabins:D

  10. Hi ...we have booked the WBTA for 2015...does anyone know if there a luggage forwarding facility to the airport from the ship ...Disney Magic...to the airport?

We recently done this when we got off the Magic in Barcelona and it gave us time to see abit of the area without taking all our luggage with us.

    Thanks

  11. No, I don't consider myself a "fashionista" BUT - I love planning every detail of every outfit. When all the work is done before SailAway, so much time is saved onboard. I would LOVE to hear what other like-minded clothes-lovers have to say!

Surely, there are others out there who love the tropical clothes and enjoy the process of planning and the comfort of knowing each outfit will be interesting, fun and appropriate???

It has nothing to do with pleasing strangers on a cruise ship, but rather the same kind of self-pampering one gets from having a really good mani-pedi or massage.

In a spare bedroom I assemble every possible clothing item, shoes, jewelry, accessory; then start to build outfits for each occasion. The first is for travel to the ship and (usually) SailAway the same day. We've been leaving out of Baltimore recently so there's no overnight stay in Florida.

Every outfit gets tried on - under garments to accessories - assessed, tweeked and put into a spreadsheet for each occasion. Sometimes DH is consulted - "Which shoes (earrings, top, etc.) looks better?

When it's time to pack, every item gets ironed the day before and layered in the suitcase(s) with tissue paper.

    Surprisingly, I only take 1 big suitcase + a carry-on - and a big purse.

Your a girl after my own heart!

  12. I feel exactly the same way...we are taking our son [33] and grandaughter [10] on there first cruise ...there is no way he could afford to do this himself being a one parent family....[ flight from Uk..week in Orlando..theme parks..shark dive..dolphin swim...2 nights Miami...cruise to Mexico and Key West] while we have our health and can afford to do it we will...knowing what fabulous memories we will all have.

As a friend of mine always says 'there are no pockets in shrouds' and who knows whats round the corner...be it a cruise or a tent in a field...share it with your loved ones whilst you can...they will always remember it not the new kitchen or new car.

  13. This photo was taken when I was on the Dolphin, and got asked to sit at the Captains table!!:) It was the highlite of the holiday and I still do not know why I got picked to this day, as I took an evening dress to wear, but the A/C was down and i could not stay in the cabin to long so just put a summer dress on!! I have been done up to the nine's since on other cruises but never been asked back to the Captains table:mad:

    Lovely memories.
