Hello, Great review & thanks for sharing this info, getting excited for our May 28 sailing. Can you tell me if there are house phones ( I am guessing each room has a phone) , but can you call from a Ship/"house" phone to your room phone and possibly leave a messages.

one last question: If you take the VOOM surf voyage internet package can you message somebody at home with either KICK or WHATS APP? or do you need to take the more expensive one for that.

Hi, Current sale going on for their internet packages which has been discounted. also try their Royal IQ app option.. If you just want to text on the ship (to the passengers in your party) for just texting , no internet needed on ship. app is 14.95 per phone.

Anyone else having poor response times from rcldining@rccl.com lately? When I first used them a few years ago, I got a response in a day or two. This time, I sent an email on 4/1 with a follow-up on 4/7 without a response to either. Anyone having better luck? Maybe I just need to give it more time, but we sail on 5/20, so I'd really like to get it squared away. :D

Hello, I called and spoke to a supervisor ( about an issue) and referenced that I sent an e-mail) , she advised they are about 10 days behind in responding to e-mails.

We have Verizon and we text all the time on cruises. We just make sure that our data is turned off on our phones. We don't pay for any international plan or ship internet.

I understand what you are saying, but to most people, the phone is in airplane mode when the airplane icon is displayed.

Hello, I see your dialogue about the WIFI/Verizon, etc. I am a first time cruiser & very confused on the options, ect. we do have verizon, family of 4 traveling on RCI Anthem in May.. I only want to be able to text each other on the ship if needed. Do I need the ships WIFI AND The Verizon International package.. or just the WIFI on the ship or Just the Verizon package. thanks for any clarification on this

You could also try using post it notes on the cabin doors:D

I really do not want to spend $$ on wifi ( although Son 19 & Daughter 17 ) would love it ) .. we are on vacation so do not want them on their phones, BUT I want to be able to text them if needed..do I have to buy internet packages..any personal experience with this..thanks
