  1. Tallnthensome...

To answer your rather harsh question of "did they poison you?"....As I had already mentioned in my previous post the medical team were wonderful and did their very best for me with the equipment that they had on board.

I developed a partial blocked upper bowel obstruction the result of some major surgery in 2013 that left a lot of scar tissue that will have to be surgically corrected....very painful and very uncomfortable.

As to our main reason for never venturing on another MSC cruise again, if you had read my entire post, it was the 90% attention to Europeans vs 10% attention to Americans.

This had a great deal to do with their food selections and food availability. Their staff were very pleasant and tried their best for us and others as we observed.

Please keep in mind that we were not the only ones that had this opinion.....we spoke to many other Americans with the same experiences on board.

We knew before we booked with MSC that this company was trying to break into the American cruise market, which is a wonderful idea, we just think that they need or needed to do a lot more homework...our opinion for sure.

MSC is just not for us......

  2. We cruised 2/17 - 2/24, and we would have to say after 14 previous cruises, we should have known that when the majority of CC posters have such negative comments....go with your gut!!

This was one and done for us, that is for sure! We had cabin 11180 Fantastica on deck 11 starboard, and the sewage smell was daily and very bad!

Unfortunately, I became very ill from the second day on and had to spend a great deal of time either in our cabin or in their medical hospital....never even got to see the islands.

The medical staff were absolutely wonderful, were able to keep me somewhat comfortable until we disembarked in Miami where they had an ambulance waiting for me.

Since we only ate one meal that first day in their MDR it was fine.

We have previously cruised on Carnival, Celebrity, Princess, and RCCL and have loved every one of them. We just thought that we would try something different and fly to the east coast also.....from now on we will stay with the ones that work!!

We feel that we were treated as second class citizens as most of our fellow cruisers were European and we are Americans. MSC will have to do something different to cater to everyone....not just Europeans.

Beautiful ship if you like very, very, very modern decor.

The fee for their cruises vs our other cruises were very close.

Never, never, never again for us on MSC!!!!!

  3. OK.....you had to get me started!!!! I love my animals as much as the next person, however, SERVICE ANIMALS are TRAINED, and in AZ a person who brings their doggies into grocery stores and/or restaurants need to understand that unless they can provide the proper paperwork, these establishments have the right to ask them all to leave.

It is called Title III, and it states that these people are violating the ADA section III, and if they lie about their animals being true "service animals", it is considerated a FELONY!! Look it up!!!!

All true Service Animals are to remain on the ground, with proper paperwork indicating exactly which disability they have been trained for. I have seen these animals in grocery carts with their little behinds right where I would be putting my fresh produce.....NASTY!!!

There is one and only one reason that grocery stores, restaurants, cruises, etc. will not abide by the rules....$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The first time I step in some animals' fecal matter inside and happen to sustain a serious fall or worse, it might get some attention......we shall see!!! Any attorneys cruise?????

Another way to fight them is to join them, and I assure you the first time a person were to bring in their pet boa constrictor snake, cat or whatever animal they have, and they were asked to leave, I can see the attorney's on the billboards having a field day in our courts!!

OK.....rant over....and I love animals, just use common sense people!......thanks for listening!

  4. Would be delighted to have the answers to #5 and #6. I see the menus for the specialty restaurants, however nothing so far on the MDR menus.

Also, is there a charge for the food in the sports bar or is it complimentary? I !have seen one reply that said there is a fee, and another that said it is complimentary......clarification please if anyone really knows! Thank you so much......driving me crazy (which for me can be a slow walk!!) hahahahaha

  5. Hi All...

I originally posted this on just Cruise Critic, and was directed to the MSC Cruise Critic board, so here goes again:

    1. We are booked on the Seaside in February/2018 in a Fantasia balcony and would like to know if there is bottled water available both in the cabin and during lunch and dinner in the MDR? I am a Type 2 diabetic and drink a lot of bottled water. From what I have been reading is looks like they offer sparkling water? etc., etc. We are on the 2 for 1 booking so we also get the free drinks at lunch and dinner in the MDR. We would be willing to buy the bottled water either way.

    2. Would it be possible to ask for one of their small coffee pots for in the cabin that we have seen posted? My husband loves his coffee all day long (just plain coffee, nothing fancy).

    Thank you for your replies:D

  6. Thank you everyone for all the great information! Now, of course, I have a couple of questions and apologize in advance if these were already answered.

    1. I am a type II diabetic, therefore I am also a huge bottled water drinker. We are booked on Seaside in February, in a Fantastica class balcony cabin. We also qualified for the 2 for 1; beverages at lunch and dinner in the restaurants, and some OBC. Can I request bottled water in our cabin and also at mealtime?

    2. Also, my husband loves his coffee all day (just coffee nothing fancy). Would it be possible to get one of MSC's coffee pots for the cabin?

    Thank you

  7. Thank you spidybabe for the prompt response:D We are currently booked on the Seaside for February 17 - 24th and were concerned that perhaps there won't be too much to visit in Puerto Rico, St. Maarten, etc.

I guess we will just have to keep a close eye on what happens as the months go forward. Our thoughts and prayers to everyone in harms way from these hurricanes:(
