  1. Hope to answer most of your questions:

Amber Cove - Ocean World - Nice, friendly a little small....

ST Thomas - Sea Turtle Snorkel on Castawaygirl via carnival -AWESOME!!

San Juan - Walked the fort - could of easily stayed on board

Grand Turk - Just did the beach by Jack's Shack - AMAZING!!! Margartiaville pool WAY crowded and just a drunk fest...should have stayed longer at Jack's Shack!

My 17 year old loved watching all the activities and I think if he had a friend along he would have joined in. Loved every minute of it, never bored...with a friend, they will have the time of their lives.

Boys did not take advantage of kids club, 17yr old went one night and was the oldest there and felt awkward.

Chess board is near splash pad on deck 10

  2. Thanks for all the replies! Again we are a family of 6 so having excursion/spending/tip money for all is a significant amount that I really didn't want to carry with and that's why I thought travelers checks...

    Thanks again

  3. Do most people take cash, I know you need some but I'm talking about the bulk of our vacation money. We have been saving along time and most of it's in cash.

Deposit in the bank and use our debit cards?

Deposit in to a secured card account?

    Do travelers checks still exist?

    What do most do?

    Thanks

  4. Is putting a cell phone in airplane mode good enough or should they be off completely...kids will probably want to use camera function and maybe play some games that are installed on their phone....

    Thanks

  5. WOW! You hit on just about every topic that I too am concerned with. We sail this month.

The lines - older I get the less patience I have, glad to hear minimal

Smoke in Casino - Was doubtful that I would play if over smoke, looking forward to it now.

Was wondering if the cost of the steakhouse was worth it, all seem to say WELL worth it.

Did your kids do any of the kids clubs?

Not much of a dress up a guy but didn't mind the elegant nights previous and kinda liked the idea.

    Pools - crowded?

Ship in general - feel crowded?

    Thanks!!

  6. Twice now I have found our cruise cheaper on the carnival website only to be told once that we would have to change our rooms and they couldn't guarantee to be close to each other (have two adjoining rooms)...

and secondly that there were no balconies available, when their sites shows availability....

Kinda like buying a TV, Best buy has same TV as ABC but the model number is 1 letter off just so they don't have to price match....

  7. I know the main reason to book with Carnival is they wait and make sure you get back on the ship. I just would like to do something a little more private at some of the ports...

As anyone had a bad experience booking privately? I can see booking a private sailing charter and have something go wrong preventing us getting back to the ship in time and having a family of 6 to get to the next port would be very expensive....

Maybe it's worth the peace of mind knowing you will get back on board?

    Thanks!

  8. What a concept though....you couldn't print money fast enough if some "rare" ones were only found on the ship...

    :)

It's fun and addicting...playing with my boys (using the kids as an excuse to play LOL)

    :D

  9. Wife and my 4 very active boys are sailing in August to:

    Amber Cove

    St. Thomas

    San Juan

    Grand Turk

and are looking for a beach excursion where the beach has a lot of water toys (inflatables in the water) to play on and or other beachish excursions you would recommend. Boys are 17,13,9 and 5.

    Thanks for the help!

  11. We are sailing on the Magic in August. My wife and 4 boys. We have adjoining balcony cabins 9464/9468. Which appear to be the last two towards the aft.

It's like they knew my boys and wanted to keep them far far away LOL

Seriously, how are the cabins towards the aft?

    Thanks for the replies!
