  1. At orient beach now as I write this, seaweed is making the water unbearable imho.   Tomorrow we go to st Thomas.   Looking for someone who has been there recently or in March/ April to help me decide which beach has less seaweed!!!!

also is sapphire beach rocky ?  We love maegens but would like a more commercial beach with chair options and food options !

  2. question about Flamigo Beach.   If you book a room for the day you arrive to Aruba on the ship, will they give you access to the private island and pool before your check in time ( 4pm).  Obviously, we want to spend the day at Flamingo Beach and the room is just to let us have access to the private island?  We depart Aruba at 11pm that night, so we wont even be staying the night....maybe showering before heading back to the ship.

Is the beach nice?  We are beach snobs,....no rocks, or seaweed!

What beaches are the best for NO rocks, or seaweed?   First time to Aruba but seasonsed cruisers!

  3. I used UBER in Miami the last two times ( Feb 2018, April 2018). I had good experiences. Both drivers didn't speak much English, but they had no issues picking me up and taking me to my destination. The cars were all fairly new and clean. I would use UBER again in Miami without any hesitations.

In February I used just UBER ( three people, four bags). . In April, we used UBER XL( four people, seven bags).

  4. We have sailed out of POM two times in the last two months. It was our first experience with POM also. The first time we stayed at the Holiday Inn Port of Miami. There is a large shopping( outside) touristy area directly across the street. Shops, dining options, some sight seeing tours on a boat options, Hard Rock, Chilis, ect. The Holiday Inn was a very nice Holiday inn and we were very happy with it.

The second stay we stayed at the Intercontinentall of Miami It is just down the road from the Holiday Inn we stayed out the prior month. It was SUPER nice and very upscale. It was a short walk to the shopping/dining area.

I would stay in either hotel without any hesitations.

We used UBER XL for all transporation need. It was less than 10.00 from hotel to POM.

    POM-Miami Airport Uber XL

  5. We were on the glory 3/31-4/7. Enjoyed her very much except the temperature. Our cabin was HOT, the dining room was WARM, and the theatre was hit or miss. I asked the steward several times to check the temperature, he said it was within limits. Thank goodness, I always travel with a FAN, but still I was on the brink of misery several nights.

I am not trying to beat a dead horse, but I really miss the network channels on the TV. It was my way to wind down at night, and I keep me entertained while I got ready in the morning/evening. I did watch a lot of 1980-1990 movies I hadnt' seen in ages from the TMC.

all in all, it was a great cruise ( Eastern route).

  6. Maybe I am out of the loop, but why are there no Ships in Fort Lauderdale this summer??? I am trying to book a Caribbean cruise, I prefer Fort Lauderdale over Miami and it looks like there is NOT a carnival ship in Fort Lauderdale in June, July, or August? Anybody know why???? I guess, I will have to adjust my plans.

  7. I find this very sad. Sometimes, I just wanna go back to the cabin and watch some NETWORK TV , my TV is on 90 percent of the time when I am in my cabin. The movie selections last two cruises were sad, and I watched 100percent network TV. Listen here, Carnival...this might be the last cutback this girl sees......almost platinum too, darn it!

  8. We have booked a short cruise after my daughter's wedding for the bridal party and family to meet the newlyweds after their solo trip to Tennessee.

My daughter is a NP online program and she finally got her spring schedule and has to have a PROCTORED online test on the Thursday we get on the ship. She can do it the morning/noon /early afternoon.

We are on the Sensation out of Miami. I was wondering if anybody has any ideas where she could do this online test that obviously requires internet connection and quiet area. My idea was the library but I did not know if the internet service that was NOT ship but her own HOT SPOT from her iphone would work in the library. We will still be in port so Verizon service will be available, I just don't know how good it will be in the library? Ship WIFI will be too slow to use for testing purposes ( and probably too costly)

    Any ideas???

  9. YES.....YES....YES

I am very disappointed about this change! I would never have booked my upcoming B2B on the Splendor if I knew this would be the case. I would have selected a ship with a nicer Serenity Area if I had the chance!

Agreed, I kinda wish they would have announced this and had a start date of six months or more. This would allow people to adjust or pick their ships with an adult area. I thought I did, but now learn that it has been changed? Not sure , thats fair.

  10. agreed, but we booked Splendor for the adult only AFT pool....( love kids, have 3, and one Granddaughter), but I would like to read quietly and relax without the splashing and such. I read something about Carnival having certain ships that are more catered to families, is this true? maybe we as consumers who would like a more adult experience could just avoid the ships that cater to the famlies. ? Is this true anyway??

  11. Last year, getting off Oasis in FLL, we originally had a 3pm flight back to CT, but we got in so early and got off so quick, we were able to change it to an 11am flight back (Southwest).

Did you just do this at the desk? Was there a fee involved.. We dont sail out of FLL until 4:10. I was afraid to book the morning flight( the latest was 10:30).
