  1. I found it!  If anyone cares, it is in a new development called Dania Pointe.  There is a brand new AC hotel just next door as well.  It is about 1.5 miles south of FLL and they are supposed to have a shuttle.  There are several restaurants and retail places in the development as well.  The hotel doesn't open until "late August".

  2. Suzanne,

We are staying on Oct. 2 and the rate for two rooms, two people each, is $334.48.

I did see that Google Maps thinks it is right next to the Courtyard, and it may well be.  The web site shows some artist renderings and it looks like another hotel sharing the parking lot.  My problem is that three different sites show three different locations.  It probably doesn't matter, but I like to scout out neighborhoods online before I go somewhere. :-),

    Enjoy your cruise!

  3. The Marriott site shows a relatively new Marriott hotel near FLL.  I have booked two rooms there for our October 3 departure on Odyssey OtS.  My problem is that Google Maps, Bing Maps, and the Marriott web site all show the hotel in different places.  I like to know what is around where I am staying, but the maps in this case don't really help.  The address is 166 Radiant Drive in Dania.  I don't think it is actually open yet.  Any FLL residents know where it really is?

    Thanks.

  4. I got emails this morning saying our drink and Internet packages for Indy had been refunded.  They were purchased during a sale and the current prices are much higher to rebook.  I called and was pretty much told "tough luck, wait for another sale".  We had onboard shareholder credits that also didn't transfer, so we have to reapply for those.

We were booked on a back to back and when they moved our cabins to the new ship we had different cabins for the two cruises.  They did this on three reservations.  I spent an hour on the phone getting that straight.

Things aren't as seamless as they should be.

  5. My party will be five adults with cruise luggage arriving at YQB. I am unable to find much on the taxi web sites for Quebec City. Is it normal there for taxi companies to use minivans as cabs? I am kind of thinking we will need two vehicles to get from the airport to our hotel, but if there are minivan cabs available we may all fit.

  6. Those cabins are not on the ship yet. I booked 1104 for a re-positioning cruise next October and the agent at the Royal call center told me they would be added in the dry dock scheduled for February. What is amazing is that the web site deck plans don't show them. They show that deck 11 has JS class cabins on it, but the picture shows no cabins at all, even when you click the link for after April, 2018. I asked if there was a PDF or something they could send to me, but they told me there was nothing they could "release to the public.". They also told me I got the last JS on the ship for our cruise. I hope I didn't buy a pig in a poke, but I am not to worried because I have never been disappointed (yet) by RCL.

  7. As mentioned, the library is on deck 8 next to the midship elevators. Based on our experience over the past two weeks, it is also the coolest place on the ship. I walked through one morning on the way to the iLounge and you could have hung meat in there.

It appeared to be a nice location. Our room was on 8 and we saw people there most times we walked by. It also has three new books, travel guides for Cartagena, Panama, and Costa Rica that I didn't want to carry home.

  8. Celebrity was merged with Royal in 1997. You would think they would have combined the loyalty clubs by now. Apparently they have their reasons for not doing so.

We are Diamond on RCL and will be getting 80 points on Celebrity in October, but they won't show up in my C&A account Bummer.
