  1. I don't believe you will be able to use the OBC on Bingo. The sales of the Bingo cards and the payouts for Bingo are controlled by the casino staff.

Thank you! That was my guess but thought I’d double check!

  2. As stated above, I tried snorkeling all along the beach area at Harvest Caye, including near the rocks by the pier (since fish often hang around rocky areas). Practically nothing to be seen; maybe a few very dull looking fish.

Apparently there were jelly fish though, as I got stung. Really, the most blah snorkeling I've ever done. It's just not an area with any fish, coral or anything interesting.

Good to know. I’ll plan on booking an excursion. Thanks

  3. Got off my first NCL cruise in February and was blown away by the Epic. We are looking at the Escape and was just curious if the UBP can't be used at any of their specialty bars?

For instance on the EPIC the Ice Bar wasn't included

    Mostly these 3 bars:

    Sugarcane Mojito Bar

    The District Brew House

    5 O'clock Somewhere

    TIA

  4. We did a b2b on the Epic last month. We have mostly sailed Carnival and Princess but decided to try NCL after a 10 year hiatus. The UBP did it for us, and it was great.

Fell in love with the Epic! Great ship! Going on a b2b again next year on the Epic.:D

When you get on the ship, make sure and make your reservations for any comedy shows or tender tickets that you need. This can be done in your cabin, on the tv. If you wait until Sat. night like we did the first week, then all of the comedy shows will be booked. Also, if you don't pick your tender time early then you might not get off of the ship until after 11am. We were off at 8am but our friends did not get off until after 11.

O'Sheehans has a Prime Rib night which is awesome, the prime rib is cooked to perfection and about 1 inch thick. Also, they have a Rib Night, those were the best ribs I have ever eaten out! They are the type that melt in your melt and fall off of the bone!

The Beatles imitator band plays in the Cavern but they also play in the theater on the first night. Catch them there, then you don't have to fight the crowd in the Cavern Club. They were really good.

If you have any questions, just ask.

Ah thanks so much! O'Sheehans is one of the complimentary restaurants correct?

  5. Absolutely. My FIL booked it when they offered UDP with interiors and they are paying so I can't complain about the interior. He paid less person for the total cruise cost than just the UDP would've cost. Booking shows and stuff is different for sure but we are more of a bar crawl group! Excited to not having the 15 drink limit like on carnival!

We booked the interior too. We did a quick 4 night recently and literally only slept in our room, when vacationing with a group I think the room is the least important part. My husband and I are also bar crawl people, but I was hoping to have info for the rest of my group. I try to be organized, haha!

And the 15 drink limit is fine for me, but my husband can drink that for breakfast ;) Hope to see you on board!

  6. I will also be on that same sailing as my first NCL cruise. I've only done carnival, but I am excited to try something new. There will be 10 of us for my inlaws anniversy.

We also have ten in our group! The Ultimate Drink Package is what made us try out Norwegian! I'm very excited. It just seems like shows and dinners are booked differently on NCL, but I'm sure we will figure it all out!

  7. I don't think I've every seen a bar in Coz that has a slide into the water. Cancun - yes, Jamaica - yes, but not sure there is one in Cozumel.

Thanks. I found one in Ochos Rios but won't have time at that port so I thought I'd ask for Cozumel.

  8. Will be in Cozumel Feb 20th on the Epic. I believe we will be docked at the Punta Langosta pier. Looking for a bar that has a water slide into the ocean? I've been to Margaritaville years ago, with various water fun but there was no slide.

  9. Eden Rock and Devil's Grotto

    What Is It?

Eden Rock and Devil's Grotto are located close together about 4 minutes away from the Cruise Ship Terminal. Here you will find a magnificent coral formation in just 10 to 30 feet of water and fish everywhere! You cannot fit all that fish in an aquarium! This is Grand Cayman snorkeling at it's finest!

    How To Get There

Walk to the right as soon as you get off the tender at either South or North Terminal. Walk along the water passing the Blue Iguana, you will see the road taking a bend with beautiful pine trees overhanging the coast line. Look for the sign for Club Paradise. (By now you have walked about 4 minutes.) There you will find an easy entrance to the reef.

George Town, Paradise to Eden Rock/Devils Grotto

Eden Rock and Devils Grotto are a favorite amongst snorkelers and divers alike. Free

The site sits a few yards away from shore, do not get discouraged when the bottom seems to get deeper (30ft) without any coral to be seen, at that time you are getting very close to the formation that rises up from 30ft to a mere 10ft of water.

Fish feeding here is also very popular. If you have ever wanted to jump into an aquarium, this is the perfect chance.

Eden Rock - Grand Cayman Dive Site and Snorkel Site

Clouds of sergeant majors and yellowtails surrounding snorkelers feeding them; this has become the trademark of Eden Rock, a popular snorkel site found just south of George Town, Grand Cayman's main port and centre of commerce. Stairs cut in the iron shore allow easy access to the water. Meander out over the shallows until you find yourself hovering over a mass of huge coral heads connected by tunnels and caves. A dive shop on the shore provides rental gear and instruction as needed. If you continue to the south, you will find other great sites such as Devil's Grotto, a unique extension of Eden Rock. Devil's Grotto features the same massive, hulking coral heads with even more open chimneys and swim-throughs. Sprawling out along the shoreline (to the west) off these sites is a spur and groove formation of coral peaks and gullies leading out to the edge of the wall. This is segmented into reefs named after the resorts sitting on the shoreline. You will find Parrot's Reef, Seaview Reef and Sunset Reef. Each resort gives you gear rental, instruction and guidance.
