Just booked the Carnival Magic sailing out of NY to Bermuda this Summer for $320pp for a balcony. Not nearly as good of a deal as some mentioned above, but still a great value!

I've never bought any stock, how would I go about it? TIA
Do you have a Roth IRA? If not, and your adjusted gross income is below $122,000 you can contribute up to $6000 in 2019 up until July 15 (the new tax deadline for 2019) into a Roth IRA. The great thing about a Roth IRA is that our money grows tax free and there are no taxes on your withdrawals in retirement.

Then go to an online broker, I use Vanguard (Roth IRA) and TD Ameritrade (taxable account), and open up a Roth IRA. After you link your bank accounts with your brokerage, you will be able to buy stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and more.
Of course, you can do all of the above in a taxable brokerage account, but that should be your last resort since you will pay taxes on capital gains. Please post again if you have any questions as many people here are willing to help.

CCL is up around $10 in pre-market trading. Could see a pop today due to a short squeeze. I also think the secondary offering is ultimately a good thing as it will keep CCL afloat (sorry for the pun) during these rough seas (sorry, not sorry).

You think it will go under $8
I don't know. But I will add to my position if it goes to $6.

What was the low last week? We have a limit order set at $8 for 200. Started at $9.50 and have lowered it as the day has gone by.
It hit $7.90 on March 18th. I shorted it from $12.62 the other day and covered today for a nice profit. Just purchased 100 shares at $8.68 because....why not? Oh wait...bankruptcy. I don't think that's going to happen though.

I'm in for 100 shares at $8.10. Looking for another good entry point to double up so that I can sell 1/2 for a profit down the road...that is...if CCL doesn't go bankrupt.

Share prices dip below $20.

Can't wait for our April cruise! In fact, I might even be rooting a little bit for schools to close so I can book a few back-to-back cruises to extend the vacay! Prices have never been lower.

No. It states inside the chase portal that anything booked with award miles is not eligible for upgrades.
You must book what you want when you use points.
Thank you!

We booked our 4/11/20 cruise on the Epic using Chase Ultimate Reward points (nearly free cruise....yay). We have 70 days to go and have not received an upgrade offer. Can anyone confirm if it is still possible to get upgrade offers after booking an NCL cruise using Chase Ultimate Reward points through the Chase portal?

We are currently on the Sky and will update this thread if we hear anything about the 8/31 cruise. We have to disembark the ship here in Miami and can then re-board and stay on overnight. We are required to disembark by 6am tomorrow (Saturday) though.

If detected, your bags go to the naughty room and you will spend several hours in line at security (along with all of the others with contraband) on the first night of your cruise.
That wasn't my experience when our wine (2 bottles) was taken from our luggage this past April. The process was quite simple...walk down to the mid-ship dining room, pay the corkage fee, and they returned our wine for us to enjoy in our cabin.

Where did you keep It? RCCL will let you bring a bicycle but it has to be kept in your cabin. I would worry about the cabin steward tripping over a full size bike. I wouldn't want them to get injured.
I kept it in our cabin (inside cabin) and just leaned it up against the wall. One of my concerns was that the bike might be in the way of the cabin steward, but it really didn't take up much space.

Do all cabins (specifically M147?) have hair dryers?
No hair dryers in our inside cabin last week.

Any recent Platinum sailors who can tell me if the gift was the binoculars?
As of last week.....yup.

I was just on the Magic a month ago and I think thry do ask it you want surrender if an ace is showing. Never really paid attention since I never take it.
I think you may be referring to "insurance." The dealer will offer insurance against BJ whenever he/she gets an Ace. Surrender is when you forfeit 1/2 of your wager in order to limit your losses.
You can go online and print out a basic play chart....it will tell you the best thing to do in any given circumstance. That way, you're playing to give yourself the best odds.Good luck!
Yeah, I've memorized the basic play chart and am working on splits and soft hands now. That's why I am curious if Carnival allows "surrender." Do you know?

Blackjack newbie looking to play on the ship. I have been learning basic strategies, strategies for splitting, double-down, and surrendering. I was wondering what the rules are for Blackjack on Carnival ships? Specifically, do they allow early surrender?

Thanks. I was hoping that they opened at 6am, but I guess 7 will work. :)
