People who work in an industry have a tendency to be myopic . IF you conduct basic research, you will find figures that the average is 20 per year, underreported by your industry .Where the hell did you get this info??? I have worked on ships for YEARS without anyone going overboard. This is a really ill-informed (trust me, I had other words!) statement to make. Go check your FACTS!Sent from my VS995 using Forums mobile app

We took the Star to Alaska.
They converted the lounge with a view to the suites and all the activities were in the lounge on the 7th deck
No windows, no view
You had to go outside or just see what you could see from your balcony.
Same with the Epic.
All activities were in rooms with no view or the lobby. Very poor.

Another Carnival mechanical cruise disruption. Their trademark.

The tour to Florence and Lisa was amazing. Although we only had time in Florence for one museum, Accademia and The David was the right choice . Very in-depth back, especially of Michelangelo , who is the favored artist (sorry to the Da Vinci fans).
In Lisa, we were told no way to have time to go up in the tower. The van parked tantalizingly close, so I bought the ticket and did it, with relatively light crowds.
Absolutely great value for the price!

Alaska-Once...maybe but Not again

We went on Norwegian Star 8 years ago. Word to the attentive - NEVER, I mean NEVER book a ship to Alaska that has no viewing lounge. That tub had converted the lounge to suites and stuck the lounge with no windows. Inclement weather, you only see what's outside your balcony or get drenched on the deck.
We saw virtually no wildlife, but had a great time; especially Ketchikan, with three totem parks. It was great - my wife and I loved it, but my buddy said, "I never want to see another f....ing totem pole again".
Do the research - travel when the weather/crowds suite you, and for sure research itineraries and ships!
