I was so happy to see you mention Yogi in your review. He was our server in Amphora during our Oct sailing and also our favorite barista. Talk about an infectious smile and personality! We'd sit and read in the Yacht Club and then magically another iced coffee w/grand marnier would appear before us...repeat.

He and his wife Trishna are the best! I showed him your post and he had an even bigger smile! And he definitely remembered you.

  2. Received the letter while on a Windstar Cruise and missed the deadline, so I am glad they are accepting late replies. They had the number of days correct but the number of cruises was off. I believe because of Back to Back and the "Star Collector" designation. Not sure that it matters but sent in my list as well.

Just got an email from WS. Complimentary upgrade from 108 (B) to 230 (AX) on our New Years Eve sailing. :classic_biggrin:

Didn't see 230 on the list above, but 228 was reported as quiet which is right next door.

We just wrapped up our cruise on the 29th in 230 on the Windsurf and the cabin was excellent. On a side note this was also the same upgrade you received.

  4. My experience has been that the 1 device internet package purchased on board is really just 1 device at a time. We were told when we purchased it that once we logged in from another device the original device was logged off.

  5. Verizon TravelPass does not offer data on the ship (only Voice) but I'm wondering if it would work for data off the island towers when Windsurf is anchored at the islands in the Caribbean (BVI & Lesser Antilles). Does anyone have any experience with this?

Windsurf Internet is $35/day vs. TravelPass $10/day

Searched through 492 posts referring to Verizon and couldn't find an answer and Google just sent me through a rabbit hole:) :)

    Any help is appreciated.

  6. This will be our first cruise on Windstar. We're leaving out of Lisbon, and embarkation time is showing as 1pm with a departure at 5pm. What time should we arrive? On other cruiselines, we normally arrive early to get oriented to the ship, have lunch, etc., but don't know what the norms are for Windstar. Since the ship is so small, I'm guessing embarkation will be very quick!
Embarkation starts at 1, usually takes 30-60 minutes to get checked in, lunch available until 3ish, depart at 5pm, lifeboat drill at 5:30, welcome aboard meeting at 6pm, dinner at 7pm. Have a good trip

  7. Husband and I are also on this cruise as the 2nd week in the Star Collector. We have only booked a few days' excursions ourselves. Here is what info I can offer. We have had excellent experiences on the shore excursions and always enjoy hearing the experiences of other passengers who chose a different trip for the day.

PALMA DE MALLORCA - Decided on Valldemosa & Chopin because we have enjoyed past trips to mountain villages. The Bellver Castle on the City Sights tour will be closed that day. Possibly the Soller Train Ride but the views always seem to pass to quickly

MAHON Hiking in Menorca, the island is known for hiking https://www.descobreixmenorca.com/en/cami-de-cavalls-3/

CALVI just can't make up our minds, they all look interesting but nothing is standing out right now.

BASTIA thinking of Cap Corse but not sure of a "bus ride", may look into a private tour for this.

PORTOFERRAIO have been to Forte Falcone and Napoleon's Summer Residence so this year we plan to walk up to Forte Stella and/or go to Winter Residence Napoleon's Residence Palazzina dei Mulini.

  8. Thank you. We just can't seem to get clarification on all the discounts and how they apply. This is causing flashbacks to the last time we booked and all the frustrations we had. We love the cruises once we get onboard but have had such bad experiences with the reservation part of the experience.

  9. We did a b2b on Windsurf in May and it was very smooth. Not your ship but I imagine it to be the same.

We were able to stay in the same room and we opted to stay on ship during the transition day but could have gone into town. We just picked up our new key cards at reception. The menu had some repeats (BBQ, desserts, etc.) but still had many choices. We only repeated a steak option at Candles.

  10. Thinking of cruising over the holidays on the Grand Caribbean Holiday 12/23-1/7. Has anyone cruised on Windstar over the holidays? Wondering how full the Windsurf will be. Our last cruise on the Windsurf was only about half full (I guess I got spoiled with less passengers) the first week and more on the second week and I could tell the difference.
