  1. I have read a couple of peoples reviews that stated they saw people smoking on their balconies, and other people saying they could smell people's smoke from their balconies, that's why I was confused as to whether you could or can't smoke on balconies. Well I for one am glad, as I can't stand the smell of it. That policy should adhere to everyone, it's not fair that some people don't care about the rules and the others abide by them, anywho, thank you for your replies, I forgot to look at Carnivals FAQ page!

  2. I'm asking for my sister, who smokes. Can you smoke on your balcony? Were sailing on the Carnival Spirit in Feb next year. I know there is designated areas around the ship, but I keep getting conflicting stories about smoking on your balcony.

  3. Well thats what I am hoping, that we will be too busy during the day and tired at night, I hope the entertainment on Carnival Spirit goes until late at night, as I read somewhere on a review that they stopped the entertainment around 9.30-10pm, thats why I was going to bring my laptop, for something to do on the days and nights that are not busy!

  4. I was going to have a look at Strandbags a couple of weeks before we go, just to have a look, make up my mind whether I need it or not. I was thinking last night I might just take my Iphone, its big enough to watch videos and stuff on, its one of the bigger phones as I can't stand looking at small screens!

  5. What about Laptop's? I'm planning on taking mine, but I get worried about the airport and ship staff throwing the cases around. I did have a case for it, don't know where it is at the moment, will have to find it, but has anyone had any issues with broken electronics like laptops when they have received their luggage?

  6. Sorry about the confusion, I had read the other person's post wrong. I thought they meant Carnival were taking the mini bars out, but the person said the minibars are empty now, so they must stock them if you want them stocked, but leave them unstocked if you don't want to drink from the minibar!

  7. I just read someone's Facebook message about how there were no mini fridges in the cabins on the Carnival Spirit, is this true? I was hoping to keep our drinks cold and whatnot that we bring aboard!

  8. Hi, seeings how I cann't make a new thread on the Carnival Spirit board(no option to make one), I thought I would try my luck here! I was wondering what suite guests get fr perks or what not? i know we get embarkation and disembarkation and priority checkin and such, but I thought I read somewhere they are bringing in new perks for suite guests, does anyone know anything about this?

  9. Thanks everyone, I love coming on here and reading everyone's comments and such. Actually I got a little concerned about my son's Passport progress as it was saying 80% for the last 3 or 4 days, so I rang them today to see how it was progressing and the lady said it was finished and being sent out either with tonight's mail or on Monday, so I'm stoked once again!:D

  10. Thank you all for your replies, I'm getting some quotes on flights today, so I was thinking if its an early flight, I will book the hotel, if its not an early flight then I will think about it, plus my son would love it, watching the planes go in and out, he's 15 and really into all things auto! Again thank you for your replies, and yes, life is too short so do the best with it you can!!:)

  11. We stayed at the Parkroyal Hotel at Tullamarine, Melbourne the night before our flight to Adelaide in October last ear, I absolutely LOVED this hotel, the beds were sooooo soft, the food both in the restaurant and in room service was delicious, and sitting there just watching the planes come and go was relaxing. So I am tossing up whether to stay here again the night before we fly out to Sydney as we are staying at the InterContinental in Sydney the night before we go on the cruise! The only thing that is stopping me is money of course as we are staying in a suite at the InterContinental, so I feel that staying at another hotel might be too indulgent? The thing is, I want this holiday to be big, its my 40th Birthday, my son's 16th Birthday, and I'm also getting over having done chemo for Ovarian Cancer which resulted in a full Hysterectomy last year, so you can see why I want this holiday to be a memorable one. We aren't staying at any hotels on the way back, just catching the plane straight from the cruise. I just want this holiday to be out there! Fun, relaxing and active at the same time, plus it will be the last holiday for a long long time. So what I am trying to get at, is, would any of you do the extra hotel before Sydney or just go with staying in Sydney and let the cruise and the InterContinental be the holiday? I know its ultimately up to me, I would like input from anyone else. It also depends on what time the flight is, we haven't got that far yet, waiting on our passports to get here then we are booking the flight and travel insurance!:D

  12. I might, its annoying not being able to post new threads on the specific line I am cruising with, and thought it odd that there was no "new thread" sign up where it usually is. I am glad its not just my computer as it was playing up there for a couple of days!!
