  1. I don't think anyone would disagree with you, Mary Ellen, but some of us consider it a courtesy to advise Guest Relations, our cabin steward, and any MDR table-mates. And you never know, in the process you just might find out a thing or two - such as the boarding time restrictions mentioned by others, or good restaurants & evening sights. :)

One thing to be aware of - for any country where visas are required for most visitors but not for cruise ship visitors (eg Turkey, Russia, Egypt), and possibly for countries where the ship provides a visa (eg Vietnam, Cambodia) the dispensation for cruise passengers only applies to those who overnite on the ship. In those places you will require a visa (or different visa) if you want to overnite ashore.

    What port/s are you considering?

    JB :)

We are sailing on the Celebrity "Millennium" and will be in port in Bali for 3 days (2 nights). We would like to stay on shore for the 2 nights. Do we need to contact Celebrity and tell them of our plans? Also, Celebrity will provide our Visa for the ports in Indonesia.

    Thanks,

    Sue

  2. Thanks for the great pictures and comments on Kotor. We were originally scheduled to stop in Split this July but we got changed to Kotor. The more research I did, the more I liked the change. We are scheduled to do a five hour private tour with some time left in the old town.

I do have a question though, HAL does not have it listed as a tender port but looking at the pictures would make one believe that it is. We are on the Nieuw Amsterdam, one of HAL's larger ships.

    Thanks Terry!

    Kirk,

We are stopping in Kotor on Oct 23 on the Legend of the Seas. We would like to do a private tour of Kotor and Budva but having trouble finding any. Who are you using for your tour?

    Thanks,

    Sue
