  1. If you have a Alaska cruise out of Seattle in April and May it may not happen, the Washington Governor Just banned any group of people over 250 getting together so the Mariner's opener won't be in Seattle or any other events at least through March but probably much longer. This even includes weddings of over 250 people. The cruise season out of Seattle could be a disaster.

  2. Hi guys, Just want to say how much i enjoyed your review. Just to give you an idea of where people live that get up and jump on line to read what and where you are  today on your cruise. My wife and i live in a tiny farming and grape growing region in Eastern Washington State  with about 3000 other people. We have been on many cruises but love Celebrity, last year did the Rome to Greece and back to Rome. Same cruise you did before us and it was so helpful reading your review before we went. Hope some day we end up on the same cruise would love to meet you and PS. Try some good Washington wines we make a lot of great ones.

  3. Just back from our 3rd Celebrity Cruise in three years and i don't really get the complaining, yes it's crowed and you may have to stand for 30 min. Is it unsafe no if it was they would not do a night where they jam hundreds of people together and put head phones on them and dance around. . No one likes the drill but it has to be done. I'm guessing the only way people will not complain is until they let you sit in your cabin the watch the video. Suck it up for a half hour then get a drink and enjoy your cruise. It's not men't to be mean but your starting a cruise what can be better.

  4. I pre-booked 6 dinners in the Specialty Restaurants and had 4 dinners in the Main Dining Room including the two "CHIC " nights.

First , I want to say on the Chic Nights people were dressed ! Tuxedos , suits , sport jackets and me with just a long sleeve shirt and dress pants . I would guess 85% of the men wore sport jackets or nicer !

The women ..... forgetaboutit.... gorgeous.... dressed to the nines ! I'm not kidding . It reminded me of the old days on the cruise ships. I was impressed.

Comparing the specialty restaurants to the main dining room ( remember , I ate in both ) , THERE WAS NO COMPARISON ! In the specialty restaurants , there were more choices , the quality of the food was much better , the service was unsurpassed EXCEPT in the Tuscan Grille where we were disappointed.

Specialty Restaurants order of choice for us : Murano then Q - Sine ( La Petite Chef - a lot of fun and cute as hell ) , then Lawn Club Grill ( also a lot of fun ) then The Porch ( for lunch - the seafood tower ) then last was the Tuscan Grille ( meat was tough and service was poor ).

Now don't get me wrong , the Main Dining Room is pretty , food good and service ok but no comparison to the specialty restaurants !

Also FYI , show times are 7:30 and 9:30 pm !

We were on the same cruise we did Tuscan, Murano and Q we loved all of them in fact Tuscan for us was the best. The main dining room was good but we wish they would change the menu up it seems to be the same every year we go. Overall nice cruise now if they could just do something about kid running wild night and day.

  5. Comparing Mediterranean cruises for summer 2019. I love the Infinity itinerary and ship but have ruled it out because I assume airfare into and out of different cities (in this case, Rome and Venice) would be much more expensive than flying into and out of the same city (i.e., Rome). Is this a safe assumption? Or does the cruise line get you a decent price with the different cities?

And to piggyback, if you book airfare through Celebrity, can you arrive a few days before the ship departs and/or days after your ship arrives?

    Thanks so much!

If you shop around there are deals to be found, we are flying one way non stop Oakland to Rome in July on Norwegian the fare was so cheap we upgraded to premium class, then after the cruise we are taking the train to Venice for a couple days then a cheap flight to London then using some Alaska miles first class ice land air to Seattle for $400.

  6. Hi Adam,

Following along! We ( My husband and two kids) are also from Massachusetts (West Newbury) and are on the July 20th sailing of this itinerary. This must be a welcomed vacation after the horrendous winter we had in Mass! Looking forward to your posts as I have been planning our excursions over this past week.

We the also on the July 20th sailing My wife son and daughter in law, it's getting closer.

  7. We were on the Constellation from Barcelona to Venice two years ago and love it, Best vacation we ever had. We had no problems at all with the ship. We are going back this summer and are on the Reflection just because it's taking us to some different ports we want to see. We are finishing out cruise in Rome and taking the train to Venice for a couple days because we loved Venice so much so starting or finishing in Venice is a winner,

  8. We did the same cruise on the Constellation 2 years ago and loved the the itinerary and the ship. It is a little hot but we went the same time of year to it's the only time we can take vacation but we don't mind hot weather. The age group on our cruise was really mixed and we met people we still keep in touch with from the 20's to the 60's. Be sure to spend a couple days in Barcelona and a couple in Venice at the end both great city's with so much to see and do. Not sure if your cruise stops in Croatia but it was our favorite we did Kayaking down a river and 2nd best a stop in Montenegro sea Kayaking to the Blue Caves. I know you will love the ship and all that goes with it, have a great honeymoon !!

  9. Take the cruise we did Barcelona to Venice two years ago with 2 days in Barcelona before the cruise. We loved Barcelona so much to see and do and great food. On the cruise it's so nice to go to another city and or country each day then come back to your same room and great food and entertainment on the ship. We did not go to Greece so this summer we are on a 10 day cruise with 4 stops in Greece. Have a great trip and Happy Anniversary.

  10. In 2016 we met a couple on our Europe cruise, They sat at are table for dinner each night and they live in Australia we are from the Seattle area. We had so many fun nights talking and joking over what we did each day they were just the best. So the cruise ended in Venice and we said our good by's thinking we will never see them again but we did keep in contact with Facebook. Fast forward to last August and we get a message from them they are flying to Vancouver and would like to meet us in Seattle for a couple days so we met up and took them to there first NFL game Seattle versus San Francisco and showed Seattle now in the next couple years our plan to see them in Australia

  11. We did a cruise on the Constellation in 2016 from Barcelona to Venice. We did two days in Barcelona before the cruise and i wish we would have done three it's a great city and so much to see. We did two days in Venice at the end and two days were perfect for us to see what we wanted to see but Venice is a very expensive city so plan to spend some money.

This July we are doing a cruise on the Reflection starting and ending in Rome, I would have been fine with the Constellation again but the Reflection had the itinerary we were looking for.

  12. We are ending our cruise in July in Civtavecchia and we want to take the train to Venice for a couple days. Any advice like how far is the train station from the port, how much time will it take to get off the ship and get to the station, do we change trains in Rome? Any advice will help our planning.

    Thank You,

  13. Crime happens everywhere, we wanted our daughter to go on a cruise with us to Europe two years ago and she refused saying its not safe then her and my wife go to Las Vegas in October for this great country music concert and by the grace of god made it out safe with just cuts and scrapes. We were in Cozumel and Costa Maya on the Equinox last July and never felt unsafe. We did not care much for Costa Maya but really liked Cozumel we did the Cozumel Amazing Race with our kids and had a great time.

  14. Nice review, We will be on the Reflection next July 20th for the same cruise and we have a balcony on deck 9. We did a cruise in Europe for the first time two years ago and had the best vacation ever. We were on the Constellation that was older and smaller but still a nice ship. We were just on the Equinox the past July and really like that ship. I read a lot of reviews good and bad but i can say we have never been disappointed with a Celebrity cruise.
