  1. As I've said on other posts on this subject, the St. Kitt's RR is a wonderful experience. My wife and I did it several years ago while aboard the Carnival Miracle. It is a combination bus and train trip. You need to remember that this was originally a working train associated with the island's sugar cane industry, so everything you see isn't paradise, but what this (or any other) Caribbean Island is really like. Please know, however, that the majority of what you see will be truly breathtaking. Also, the "locals" working aboard the train are very proud of their country, and are anxious to present that pride to their visitors.

  2. When the U S government mandated that distilled spirits sold in ths U S had to be sold in metric weight units in 1979, it also became illegal to sell any distilled spirit in any size larger that 1.75 liters, or .46 of a gallon. Previous to this change, spirits were available in full gallon bottles, or 3.79 liters. So...anything that you see for sale anywhere that is over 1.75 liters is unavailable for purchase in the U S, and therefore would have a definate "novelty" factor in anyone's home bar.

  3. DW & I enjoyed a wonderful cruise aboard the Norwegian Dream in 2005, when she was sailing out of NOLA. Although the Dream was an older, smaller ship, my wife and I considered that cruise memorable because of a wonderful, caring crew, and a well maintained, clean vessel.

I know that the Dream was sold out of NCL to another line belonging to the parent company to sail elsewhere. I also believe that for some reason that deal fell through, and the Norwegian Dream is now "laid up" somewhere, awaiting, well, whatever.

Does anyone have info as to where the Dream is, and what her future is? I truly hope that more cruising is in this wonderful ship's future.

  4. Mud Diver-

I feel your pain. I had the same dilema several years ago while cruising aboard the Norwegian Dream - they were out of stock - and I was out of luck, and my fleet of our cruises was incomplete. After many phone calls and emails, a kind soul was nice enough to purchase one for me while they were aboard the Dream and then mail it to me, at my expense of course. I now will be in a situation to repay a kindness. My daughter and her husband will be sailing aboard the Triumph in several weeks, and I will have them purchase a model and bring it home with them, and see that it gets to you.

Please post here how to contact you (email) and we will make all the necessary arrangements.

  5. Wife & I cruised Norwegian Dream recently, & would like a "model" to join our other cruises ( all Carnival ). They had none on the ship during our trip. Does NCL have them for each ship? How does one go about obtaining one? Thanks !!
