The "Best Way" to get from MCO to PC and back is in a stretch limo with a stocked bar! 😎  Price will depend upon how stretch you are willing to pay for.

As suggested above, one way car rentals are a good option as is Cocoa Beach shuttle (we have done both) and other shuttles.

This is my plan for taking us (a party of six) from MCO to a Port Canaveral hotel (yet to be determined).  What limo companies have you used or recommend?  We are not sailing until April 2023.  Cruise paid for so now focusing on a good hotel and transportation to and from port.  Was thinking of using Disney shuttle for return to MCO from port (at cost of $39/person) but depending upon cost of limo may use limo for return as well!

  2. I am so ready to book a solo cruise and I will very shortly but do not want to hastily make my decision.  My husband passed away last year and his dad passed 10 months later.  Because my husband was an only child, I have had to handle his estate and now I am in the midst of cleaning out his house and it is not an easy task.  This man saved everything.  Needless to say, the past few years have been without a vacation and I am so looking forward to booking a solo cruise.  Just when I begin to research a cruise, I get sidetracked by something else.  When I get a minute or two free time, I do enjoy reading this board on solo cruising and value opinions and recommendations posted.  I can't wait to put down a deposit and start counting the days.  i finally see the light at the end of the tunnel!

  3. Have spent the past few days on CC researching solo cruising.  I love to travel and haven't been able to travel for a while due to family obligations.  My husband passed away in 2018 and my kids are all grown so I can now come and go as I please and travel on short notice.  I love the idea that I can just make up my mind and go!  Just checked for some last minute cruise deals out of Boston to Bermuda...I am not fond of inside cabins as I prefer balcony or above but they have an incredible deal for a solo inside leaving in a couple days for 7 day cruise at rate of 299.00...total is 512.00 with taxes, fees, etc.   Can't do this one...just checked my passport...it expired a year ago!  Need to update my passport asap!!

  4. One thing that has concerned me about traveling solo and I haven't seen it addressed is the feeling of being safe.  I have been contemplating taking a solo cruise since becoming a widow in 2018.  My family thinks I am crazy and have discouraged me from doing so.  I am 63 and currently planning a cruise with a friend who has never cruised before so not sure if this is any better.  In the past, I have always taken taxis to and from the airport but I don't think I would feel safe getting into a taxi being alone.  I think I would opt for the transfers from the cruise line for that purpose.  From what I have read, your experiences all seem positive and I am now considering booking another cruise for myself!  I look forward to relaxing on the promenade deck with a good book and coming and going as I please.   My main concern is the safety.  Have any of you that have traveled alone ever felt unsafe in your travels?

  5. Thanks for everyone's replys...After much discussion, we will be doing the family Disney cruise in 2020...but planning on family Disney World trip in the fall 2019.  However, I am having major cruise withdrawals, so daughter and I are now researching our options for a relaxing girls week away...

  6. I am planning on taking my family on a Disney cruise and was hoping to cruise early in September.  My son's family are big Disney fans and travel to the parks a couple times a year.  I now have a grandson who will be 2 1/2 in September.  I realize the age group he falls into doesn't qualify him to be in any of the youth clubs and I know his parents won't want him in the nursery.  Will his age restrict him and his parents while onboard?  I don't want the parents to feel they are confined while on the ship.  I will be booking 3 verandah rooms so before I reserve and place a down payment, I want to be confident there will be fun for all.  I really don't want to wait another year but need to be assured everyone will have fun!

  7. So how is the piano bar on Enchantment? Love spending time in the evenings at the piano bar if it is a fun piano bar...have been on previous cruises where the piano bar scene is one of the hottest spots on the ship and have been to some which were at the complete other end of the spectrum....
