  1. I really enjoy Tauras in the Sky Observation Lounge, when done properly (it varies from ship to ship...). If you can get it in a Marie-Antoinette glass without ice, it's delicious.

Otherwise, as others have said, work you way through the World Class Bar menu, they have fantastic creations in there.

The Martini Bar is hit or miss in my opinion: I've had delicious martinis and horrible ones, even in the same cruise. I think it comes from the fact that they free pour, which can ruin a martini since there's not a lot of liquid in there.

If there's a Slush bar on your ship (Equinox has one, I believe Constellation might as well), do try a few of the frozen drinks, they're really different and original. It's usually only open on sea days though, don't miss it!

We haven't done Celebrity before and we are heading out to get on the Summit in 10 days!  I have a couple questions and I'm sorry if they've already been asked/answered.

    1.  Does anyone know if the Caesar salad tastes like fish?  I know that's how it's "supposed" to taste, but where I'm from, that's just not how it tastes and I don't like fish...

    2.  Is there soft-serve ice cream at the buffet?

    3.  I know there's gelato but what is the cost?

    Thanks!

1- It tastes slightly like fish, but not overtly. It varies from a ship to another and from one sailing to another in my experience, I've gone from outstanding Caesar salad to watery and bland ones. Try it once, maybe with the dressing on the side?, and you'll see for yourself. It's on the everyday menu of the MDR and when it's good, I end up having it almost every day.

2- The is no soft ice cream at the buffet, but there's ice cream served by a crew member. It's done in house and pretty good. I remember seeing soft-serve near the mast grill on a sailing, but I don't think it's on every ship.

3- Gelato is nothing to write home about in my opinion, it's the same quality as their ice cream. Not worth the upcharge in my opinion, I've only had it as a loyalty perk (starting on your second cruisem, you get a free scoop). It's probably around 4-5$ for a scoop.

  3. Depending on what you drink, drinks are anywhere between 8 and 16ish dollars.

The classic package lets you have any drink under 9$ (beer, wine, spirits).

The premium package ups that limit to 15$ per drink and adds sparkling water, Vitamin water and Red Bull.

Starting from there, I'll let you do the math to figure out if it's worth it for you.

Our experience from 2 past cruises has always been to wait for a promotion with 2 perks included (there's one at the moment) to book and to choose the classic beverage package as a perk. I upgrade to premium, DH doesn't because he doesn't drink that much and doesn't really taste the difference in alcohols. That way, our cruises seem all-included, even though the cost of the perks is built-in the price of the cruise (although that is debatable - having saved 400$ on a reservation yesterday by going from a one-perk promotion to a 2-perks one).

Would I buy a beverage package if I had to? Most probably. Would I hate putting all that money upfront? Definitely. Would I enjoy beverage package? Most definitely.

  4. There's diet tonic on the ships? This is excellent news, I never thought to ask!

So sorry to hear of your last experience and sure hope that this one is better! With a Sky Suite, although the minibar drinks aren't included, I've had no problem with my butler emptying it and keeping it filled with my favorites ( Pellegrino and diet tonic) as long as they're covered by my drinks plan. You'll be cautioned on here that there's no guarantee that a butler will do that for someone in a "lowly" sky suite, but this year I've had no issue while in SS's on Reflection, Equinox or Summit. Enjoy your trip! I was on Reflection in May and the crew was fantastic. The MC concierges were both especially cordial and helpful. One day i mentioned that i was a little surprised that my favorite Cafe Al Bacio dessert, the salted honey tart, was not available on Reflection because I thought that menus were pretty uniform across the fleet ( a barista said that they hadn't had it in a couple of years.) The next evening a giant "fullsize" version was waiting for me in the suite. :-)
  5. Am I the only whose both muster drills were more than okay? Both were in the theater (one on Summit, the other one on Silhouette), so we got seating, could see the screen and the AC was working no problem. The only weird thing is that they make you leave the theater starting with the seats closest to the stage, which makes no sense, as if you were emptying a plane starting at the back and then making your way forward.

  6. If you haven't already, suggest you search on Youtube.

I have, the one video that's there gives a general idea, but I would love a more detailed one.

That being said, this is just me being excited because it looks perfectly fine.

  7. Hi all!

Juste booked a south Caribbean cruise on the Summit in inusual oceanview cabins and would live having a sneek peek on them. Dies anyone have or could take a video of cabin 7001 or 7003?

    Thabks in advance!

  8. Hi all!

We will be a group of 14+ gay guys in their 20ies-early 30s sailing on the Equinox. It will be my husband and my 3rd Celebrity cruise and most of the others will be new.

Super excited, can't wait to take advantage of our beverage packages!

Feel free to post if you're also sailing at that time or if you wanna join. We have a group reservation, we could even see how it would work adding your reservation.

  9. Hello!

Turns out that we are on our way to be at least 8 cabins on our March 2019 cruise and be eligible to the group rates. Do you guys know if we can simply link existing bookings or if they have to be new bookings made at the same time?

  10. Just got back from the Summit also. I upgraded to the premium package and did not regret it one bit. There still is a great amount of world beers at Cellar Masters and the menu at the Revelations lounge is very good (as good as the World Class bar, at least) and drinks are into the premium package range. I always see upgrading as my expense for alcohol for a week, and I find it very cheap (assuming you get the classic as a perk of course). Enjoy!

  11. I don't know yet about the size of the Pied Piper group, they won't tell me before a week before sailing... Last year in Scandinavia we were more than 30, so I suppose we will be more than that on a shorter cruise from NJ.

Rates have dropped a lot in the last weeks, but I don't know about the singles fares though. Maybe you could write to them and see?
