  1. I'm going on the Carnival Valor in February, and I'm wondering if anyone knows if the Valor or any of the ships have crepes? Thanks in advance.

I do love crepes and I asked the same question on other similar app for my upcoming RCCruise which is tomorrooooow. Yay

And I didn't get straight answer. I would love to find crepes on Oasis of the seas. That would be fabulous. Unfortunately I don't have any experience with carnival cruise ships. Wishing you luck!

  2. Guys thanks for your all replies! We live in Florida and I still have eczema in the summer. We have low humidity in the office and home, 35-45% during summer and it is very low for me I know that for sure. So hopefully when fall will come and we don't need to use so much air conditioner it might get better. But seriously to have eczema in the summer it is awful when you live in Florida where enough of humidity but you spend all time in air conditioned box. Hopefully I will be outside much more on the ship.

  3. Thanks everyone for your answers. The cause of my eczema is unknown. Some certain foods make it worse. And we don't have a doctor, we do it ourselves. No need to waste money and time. They prescribe steroids creme and we don't want them. We shook off last year we should be able to do it again.

I just was curious how eczema sufferers were dealing with it on the ship.

  4. Less than in two months we are going to a cruise on oasis of the seas and we still fight my hand eczema. It is under control now , it is flees up sometimes. I am on strict limited diet and when I get to the ship I don't think I will stick to it. My eczema comes in winter and usually goes away in spring but this year we can't shake it off. Are there any eczema sufferers who done cruising or keep cruising with it?

  5. Agree about RCI desserts in WJ buffet. Sometimes you can get a nice actual layer cake, but too much gelatin abounds, I agree with you! The cookies are delicious if they are not over baked... nice and soft - yum!

The carrot cake USED to be my favorite dessert (moist cake, delicious icing!), but recent cruises have seen the change... they are now little mini-muffin type servings and so awful. The sugar-free Key Lime Pie is also terrible now, like a gelatinous mousse. *ugh* I think I shed a tear... :(:(:(

etokay, you might like the Key Lime pie in the dining room. Also there are different flavors of hard ice cream each night and they are served with a little cookie, very nice. :)

    .

Thank you, yes I think cookies and ice cream will be my option. I will give it a try to key lime pie.

  6. Yeah, I know what you mean. When I was on freedom of the seas I was kinda disappointed due too many gelatin based cakes. Ben and Gerry ice cream was my escape for a good chocolate kick.

I was hoping oasis would have more choice but seems like they all the same. The only thing so far I am disappointed with Royal Caribbean is dessert menu. On the other hand my husband likes their dessert menu since they are not too sweet.

  7. I will be on the Escape in a couple of months and would love to know what desserts I should not miss. I already know, from other posts, that the lava cake is good.

What else is out there? Are there any great chocolate desserts?

    :)

Are you chocoholic? I am. :-D

Our next cruise ship less than in three months but on oasis of the seas. I do wonder what kind of desserts they have as well. Never been on Norwegian so can't suggest. But I do want to create a post where ppl would suggest the best cruise for chocoholics! :))

    Have a sweet cruise!!!

  8. I just checked a cruise web-site (sorry, I cannot give its name as I have already been given demerits by Cruise Critic for doing so) : there are several sailings from Port Canaveral in your time frame and within your budget.

That said, the "best" time to book a cruise is as soon as you find what you want at a price you can accept. There is always the chance that prices might drop in the near future - but as good a chance that they can go up. As long as you are outside final payment date, there is a good chance that you might get a break if prices do drop after you book.

I wish you could share the website you are using. I am still at researching point. Browsing huge amount of websites but can't get really good deal. Also we have been on one cruise before Freedom of the Seas and now for us to choose Carnival Valor or Magic is kind of tough.

  9. If you book before final payment most cruise lines will give you any price reductions just by asking.

Certain sales are for 'new bookings' only and require cancelling and rebooking. Again this would be before final payment.

So if you book now and the price goes down you may get it...as long as final payment has not passed.

After final payment it is not so easy. Upgraded room or OBC is a more likely scenario.

As you likely know, your early choice (august) is super close to final payment, depending on when final payment is required. 75 and 90 days are common numbers for final payment. 60 days shows up once in awhile.

Have you tried to book before final payment and then ask for reduction?

  10. Thank you everyone who wrote advice and thoughts.

I am flexible to sail from 2 weeks notice. But where can I find such a deals and how? How can I find canceled or last minute deal? Should I sign up to some sort of newsletter? If yes where can I find it?

We do know about other expenses and our budget should include gratitudes. We don't drink alcohol, don't do shopping, not interested into casinos and excursions so no worries about that.

  11. Hi everyone!

My husband and I want to book a cruise for this coming fall (August-Sept-Oct) but we have just $1300 budget. Looking to cruise to Western/South Caribbean, 7 days.

Now we live near Orlando so Port Canaveral is preferred port of Departure.

I am wondering when is the best time to book a cruise and how to find the affordable cruise that can fit our budget.

Any suggestions or advise would be very appreciated.

    Thank you in advanced.
