  1. Thank you I was not complaining at all, I fully understand the rules and that it is the CDC not Carnival. I was just asking for advise if anyone knew of a work around. And I did learn from you all that there is a rapid PCR test which I did not know. Unfortunately my closest airport is about 2 hours away. I do not have a problem paying for the test, however I am considering just canceling the cruise due to the timing and hassle.

  2. We have a cruise booked for November 28- December 5th and my 8 year old granddaughter got approved for an exemption. Problem is with her being under 12 she has to have the PCR test done on Thursday. Thursday is Thanksgiving so that's a no go, then Black Friday which means they will have minimal people working in the lab. I am concerned this test will not come back in time. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you

  3. I will be cruising out of Manhattan Cruise Terminal May 2020. Parking is so expensive at this terminal so I am looking for alternate parking. I found cheaper parking at Columbus Circle Parking, has anyone used this alternative? What are the cons to using off site parking? Sorry if this has been addressed before, I looked and did not find anything on it.

  4. This will be my 6th Carnival cruise. I have always sailed out of Baltimore. I have been to all the ports sailing from there wanted some new ports. This will be my 1st time sailing out of New York and would love some advise on the ease or difficulty of getting on and off at this port. I am super excited for the ports of call.

  5. Now I am wondering if this is your (or your granddaughters) first cruise. Cruises are a lot of fun for all ages. I don't think missing out on Disney as a kid makes a big impact on someone's life. I didn't go to Disney until I was 22 and had a great time. I also didn't get to go on a cruise until my late 20's with my own money. I think at an older age it will be more appreciated. My suggestion though is to use the money you would have spent to do an unforgettable excursion, such as swimming with the Dolphins, in another port depending on where you are going. I don't think there are very many people who can say they got to do that when they were a kid.

Actually this will be my 4th cruise and my son has problems so yes I think this still bothers him. We did the Swimming with dolphins on our last cruise. Going to Disney at age 5 and age 22 are totally different experiences, you will have fun either way however it will impact you in different ways. This is just a shore Excursion something to do in a port of call. I figure we can do and see about a dozen things in 7 hours parades rides etc. All I wanted was some suggestions however all everyone is saying is it's not a good idea. I think everyone thinks this is the highlight of the adventure; it is not the cruise is it is just something to do at that port.

  6. So as I explained my situation sounds like most are in the opinion that even though this would probably be the only opportunity I have to take her to just not let her experience it at all. I am much better now off than when my kids were little (but still can't afford a lot) and I remember my son always wanted to go to Disney World. He is now 25 years old and I still think he feels that was something he missed out on in life. I will probably save my money and stay on the boat which we will be on for 7 days so I don't think that will be as exciting as Magic Kingdom for her but I also don't want to throw money away. Thanks for all of the great advice.

  7. Thank you Steerage Joe this is exactly what I was looking for I can actually care less about the rides we take her to six flags and other amusement parks all the time, however I would like her to get a few rides in. It's more about the magical experience.

  8. Just to help everyone understand why I want to do it as a shore excursion of only 7 hours is because of 2 reasons: I can't really afford to go to Disney for days hotel and airfare. The other more important one I live in Pa so that would mean flying my husband is so deathly afraid of planes and he does not want me getting on one either ( I tell him all the time planes are safer than cars and he gets in 1 of them everyday). It is a 21 hour drive which is too much for me. I am not looking at this as the time of our lives it is something to do at that port of call and the little bit of research of reviews for this excursion sounds like if you go with a plan and organized it's a great excursion. I have never been to Disney neither has my grand daughter so there isn't any must see or must do things that we have to do. This is the only way I will be able to take her to Disney and because I really don't know anything about Disney whatever we do I am sure will be fun. Everyone has given great information however now I am in doubt as to whether we should do this shore excursion which kind of breaks my heart because this is something I really wanted to do for her and probably the only opportunity. Thank you everyone for the great advice.

  9. I would like to plan a day at Walt Disney World when we are in Port Canaveral, I have a few questions I hope some of you can help with. My understanding is because there is only about 7 hours in the park you need to go organized and know what you want to do. We have never been and will be taking my 5 year old granddaughter. Any must see or must do for a 5 year old? We are going in February on a week day should we waste our money on a fast pass. Does anyone have a itinerary that they did that seemed like they got the most out of such a short visit? Any other suggestions is greatly appreciated.

  10. Here is a quote from a fellow cruiser "We will be back on Pride in July. Just got off the Splendor, my friend and me, were so let down. Our standards have been set high, based on service on the Pride. The Captain on Splendor made a appearance at the Diamond Party, I saw him walk in a back door, did he stop and say Hi to us or any others that I noticed NOPE. Next function the past guest Diamond/Platinum party, he did not even make a appearance, only a few officers were present at either function. The appetizers could not even compare to the choices on the Pride. We are so spoiled with the service and cheerfulness of crew on Pride." I have only been on the Pride so I can't give advice about the Splender. I can tell you I have sailed out of Baltimore in March and the weather wasn't bad, the ocean was a little choppy the 2nd night other than that it was great. I will be back on the Pride in 2 weeks and scheduled another cruise in February 2018 to sail out of Baltimore. I love the Baltimore port the ease of getting on and off through customs is amazing hassle free.

  11. A few years back we stayed in 4218 and loved it no noise. Last year we got the extended balcony on upper deck 8157 and all you could hear is the Lido deck from above sounded likes carts rolling on the floor above. This year we booked on the 4th deck again room 4182 I am hoping noise level is not bad. I also like the 4th floor better because it's closer to the ocean...better view.

  12. I love FTTF and will not cruise without it if I can help it. My 1st cruise I did not have it and even though Baltimore Port is not that bad of a wait it was awesome on my next cruise just walking past everyone else getting my sign and sail card and boarding. Also you get priority luggage so they deliver your luggage before cruisers that did not purchase it.
