Have your travel agent discuss the airline fees with Uniworld. This happened to us with Uniworld and they picked up the airline change fees for us!

Looking into a cruise to Alaska this summer and cabin 4176 is available! I could sure use some insight on this suite... Can anyone tell me if this suite has an abnormal amount of noise from the dining room below? Also is there a walkout balcony area from the dining room that dining guests can walk out to during dining service? Any other pros/cons on this cabin would also be great!

Question - on the HaLong extension - were you able to leave unneeded luggage at the hotel in Hanoi and just take an overnight bag since you end up going back there in a couple of days or did you take everything with you?

Holland America also offers an excursion to Torres del Paines. Be forewarned that the weather can be bad in Punta Arenas. The winds were so bad on our recent cruise we were unable to even tender into the port.

We sent several postcards from The end of the world on March 11th. As of today none have been received - but we are still hopeful that they will eventually appear.

DH and I really enjoyed our time in Ushuaia. The locals were all so friendly and after missing several ports due to mother nature we had a wonderful time there.

Ok .. Let me join in... Just received a cancellation notice for our April 24th 2016 sailing. It also shows on thei Princess website as completely sold out. Add another ship to the redeployment mix.

Has anyone recently stayed at the Santiago Sheraton? This is the hotel that HAL booked us in for a night before transferring to the ship in Valparaiso. It doesn't seem to have very good reviews on Trip Advisor but I cannot imagine HAL would use a bad hotel. Perhaps they give HAL folks the remodeled rooms? Just wondering what have been folks experiences there this season.. Thanks.

We are doing a cruise through South America and Antartica in March. Can anyone who has done this cruise from Valpariaso to BA tell us when docking in Ushuaia(the first Argentina port for us) -- how did you get Argentina pesos? We want to send post cards from the end of the world post office so we are thinking we will need pesos. Do you know if they accept USD$ there? If so, we probably wold be OK without having to obtain pesos. Our ship docks at 2 and our Hollland shore excursion is at 2:45. I am just concerned we won't have time to find pesos before our tour. Thanks everyone. Yes it's a flight out of Punta Arenas and costs are in the mid $3,000 range. So with the cost of the tour we are having trouble deciding upon the tip. We absolutely agree that it depends on service. Has anyone seen that reality show called below deck? The tips those folks receive are phenomenally huge. And I suspect it's based on the percentage of the daily costs... So with an excursion this pricey we didn't want to under or over tip. Appreciate all the input!

We are hopefully (weather permitting) going to do the Antarctica Landing excursion offered by Holland in March. We just don't know how much we should tip. If anyone has done this excursion would you mind sharing your decision on the tip? Does anyone out there have an opinion on tipping the folks? Given the cost of the tour - should it be a percentage of the cost of the excursion or a flat rate? What would be appropriate considering the excursion is appx 12 hours in duration?

I, as many others, have been following your journey with hope and good wishes. IMO this is happening for a reason that might not ever be understood. But I can tell you -- the one thing it has opened our understanding of emergencies when traveling and will probably help countless others in the future. Not much of a consolation to you and your DH but I appreciate you sharing your story. You have done an amazing job! I can only imagine how horrible this is for the two of you... You have always been a bright and positive light on CC and it is sad when bad things happen to good people! Get some rest and give your DH a great big hug from all of us..

We also were trying to make the same decision. We chose the Zandam in March because of their shore excursion to Antarctica that was not offered in January. The excursion, where frequently canceled due to weather at any time of year, is a once in a lifetime opportunity that made the decision simple to select the Zandam in March.

So when pre-booking shore excursions does that go to your onboard folio account and count towards the onboard spending bonus? That would be great :)

Thanks for the great advice. The tour drops us off at the airport at 4:30pm and Delta recommends that we arrive 3 hours before the flight at BA. So with an 8:15pm departure we should be just fine I think. Thanks again!!!:)

Hi all

We have booked a Holland disembarkation tour in Buenos Aires with a drop off at the airport that afternoon. The tour notes that the tour is only available for people with flights departing after 8:30pm. Well all was good when we booked the excursion but now our airline notified us our flight departure time has been changed to 8:10pm. We are typically sticklers for the rules but we are wondering if we would still be able to take the tour and make our flight? I don't know if it matters but we are flying business class which might get us through the security lines quicker? We have never flown out of Buenos Aires before and appreciate everyone's input.
