  1. I am so sorry to hear about your horse. I lost my gelding of 25 years awhile back and I am still grief stricken. My heart goes out to you.

As far as smoky balconies go, we have had some good luck and some bad luck.

Being able to cruise is the best luck of all.

    :)

  2. Hi,

I am cruising in 32 days and started trying to lose some weight in late February when I realized I weighed almost what I had when I delivered my daughter. (She is 23).

I went on weight watchers online and have lost 19 pounds. I am exercising four days a week and sticking to my point allowance. I don't intend to plug WW, just saying it has worked for me.

It isn't fun, but it is nice to wear some of my old things again and feel like I can go on my trip and enjoy myself without digging myself into an even deeper hole health-wise.

    Good luck!!

  3. My son and I came down with Norovirus on a Princess cruise 4 years ago. It was miserable. We are booked to sail on July 27th on the Amsterdam. After being so ill, I would actually consider forfeiting my trip to avoid being that sick again. (Now I will get ridiculed for the idea, but not by anyone who's had the virus:)

I hope everyone gets well or remains well. Here's to the crew and all of the extra efforts required to combat the virus.

  4. Hi,

The big building that houses Alaskan Pioneers has a small gift shop in the lobby that sells handicrafts made by the residents. Money earned goes into improving the facility and for activities for the residents. Some of my most cherished souvenirs have come from that shop. Please stop by .

  5. My son and I came down with the Norovirus on a Sea Princess cruise in 2011. I have not been on a cruise since. I realize the percentage of passengers who become ill is very small, but it was the most miserable 4 days of our lives. Confined to an inside cabin. We about went out of our minds.

We are booked on a 2 week cruise this summer. Here's hoping everyone remains healthy throughout the voyage!

    Wishing you all healthy trips.

    Karin:)

  6. We spent ten days in cabin P234 on the Sea Princess. It is forward on the Plaza deck. There are two large storage closets adjacent to the cabin, which weren't on the deck plan. Crew members were loading things into and removing things from these closets at all hours of the day and night. Furthermore, some stored items were not secured properly and they were constantly shifting around and bumping into the wall of our cabin. We slept poorly as a result.

    Don't book this cabin!!

  7. We were in this cabin for our Alaska cruise. It is very near the crew gym and

we heard loud music playing and weights dropping almost 24/7. We would call and ask if the music could be turned down, but it would be turned back up within minutes.

The space was wonderful, but I'd have traded for a smaller , quieter cabin in a heartbeat.

    Good Luck!

  8. We were assigned a handicapped JS on a guarantee booking. It was still 8 weeks until sailing. We took a downgrade (credit given)to an E1 balcony so we did not take a cabin that a handicapped person would need. (especially so far from the sail date). Now if it had been a week or two out, I would have kept it. I'm not condemning other people's values, but I have to follow my conscience and set an example for my kids. We have good legs and there but for the grace of God go us! Karma.

  9. Hi,

I'm taking my first cruise alone next month on the Oosterdam. I am a little nervous, but really excited at the prospect of not having to compromise on what to do, where to go, etc.. with a travel companion.

I plan to sleep as late as I want, lounge by the pool, socialize a little and hopefully find someone who wants to go to the Pinnacle for dinner.

I hope you have a great time on your trip. Be sure to let us know how it went!
