  1. Thanks…..the ship docks at 6:00 and the group I have booked a transfer for 8:00. Two have 12:30 flights, two have 1:30 flights and my wife and I are overnighting in Fiumicino.

i did not realize there would be no passport control. What time should I tell the others to start heading out to meet the transfer. I was thinking 7:15

  2. We are off the RCCL Oasis in Civitevecchia and must catch our transfer to FCO at 8:00. A large portion of the ship’s passengers embarked in Barcelona so for them it is merely a port day. About how much time should we need to self disembark and go through passport control…..thanks

  3. We usually tale the P11 bus to Porto Venere from near the cruise terminal. This trip we will be four…..any idea how much a taxi would cost? Looks like a twenty minute ride

  4. We will be porting in Marseille and spending the morning in Aix and the afternoon in Cassis. Any suggestions for a restaurant for lunch? Nothing that requires a reservation, good views would be great. Also a shop to purchase nougats. We will be there on a Tuesday, Mid May. Thanks

You might  be lucky,Oceania Marina is a small ship , but there is plenty  of space on the main terminal quay

It's  a long walk  just  to get the gates at westerly quay ,but I think they will have shuttle buses or you can get a taxi.

    Thanks

The Oceana is small so we might be lucky. We have been to Palma a few times….taxi to Mercat de l’Olivar and then stroll back eventually ending near the Cathedral

  6. I know I can take the Blue Bus to the WTC and walk from there. For us Barcelona is a port stop. For a large number of passengers on this Oasis cruise, Barcelona is their debarkation. I’m thinking getting a taxi to go the short distance to Placa Real might be difficult. We would be getting off to meet a walking tour about 9:30

    Any advice is appreciated.

  7. We arrive in Barcelona on a Sunday in May off the RCCL Oasis……for us it is a port day but for the vast majority of the ship it is debarkation day and for a new set of travelers embarkation day.

We simply need to go to Placa Real to pick up a walking tour. Too far to walk from the pier and I doubt a taxi in the queue would want to take us that short distance.

Any advice……should we take the Cruise Shuttle Bus to the WTC and walk from there? Are there usually long lines to board the shuttle bus?
    Thanks for the help

  8. Hi…….we have a group of about 60+ from a different forum.  Day #2 is a sea day…….Day #3 is a short port day in Barcelona because a large number of passengers are ending their cruise and new passengers embarking. Any thought on which day to plan our own little meet and greet and where on the Oasis to do this? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

  9. Is it easy to get a taxi at the cruise port in Naples? We want to go to Piazza Dante to meet a walking tour.......looks like a 15 minute ride. Do taxis use meters or do you negotiate for a predetermined price? I know we can walk but we prefer taking a taxi and saving the walking for the tour and after. Is there a particular pier that RCCL uses? Thanks

    Hi Marty,

Happy New year  to you as well

Yes this sounds perfect if you have not seen  the Cathedral  it should not be missed .

The whole area around the Born is great for shopping.

Look  for Rialto living  it's a design shop in an old mansion  fantastic .

Taxi to Mercat Oliver about 20eu .

No Snow here vveiw from my terrace.

    Best Roger b

    Very, very, very jealous☀️

is Carrer Sant Miguel a good route?

    thank you

  11. Hi Roger B………first, Happy and Healthy New Year and thank you for all of your advice. We port in Palma Monday, May 20 from 8-4. We have been there twice before. Our preference this trip is to take a taxi and arrive early at Mercat de l’Olivar…..there is a cappuccino with our names on it. About what would the taxi cost from the port? Euros or CC?

Our main plan is to stroll, shop, grab some pastries, end up strolling through Placa Major, Pg del Born……would Carrer de Sant Miguel be a good route from Mercato Oliver or do you have other suggestions? Any other streets, plazas we should not omit?

What would be a good end point around 2pm to grab a taxi back? Placa de la Reina?

Thank you from New York City where we await rain, sleet and snow through Sunday☃️
cannot complain…….NYC has not seen any real snow since February 2022.

Stay safe and thanks for your traveling guidance…….we do appreciate it❤️

First of all, there will be no problem asking a taxi but, if you need it, you can book a taxi or even call one taxi by phone. It will cost 7 euro plus but you have assured a taxi.

But no passenger has reported to have a problem for a taxi in Barcelona pier.

Secondly, do you mean ideas for a day-tour in Barcelona (after you have already been there)?

May I suggest a day trip to another city?

Thank you. Unfortunately it is a short port day. We must return to the ship by 17,00h

Appreciate any suggestions……….was not sure about Montserrat on a Sunday as we would not see the choir.

  13. My question pertains to Barcelona as a PORT STOP.  We port off the Oasis on a Sunday at 6am because a large portion of the passengers will be ending their cruise and disembarking. Those of us who boarded in Rome are merely heading out for just the day to enjoy Barcelona.

Conversely, a score of new passengers will be starting their cruise later that morning😳 So loads of passengers and  their luggage coming and going much of  the morning.

What would be the best choice for passengers getting off the ship at about 9:00 to head out for their day in Barcelona. I’m guessing grabbing a taxi might be very difficult. Would the blue bus be a better option at least to get us to the WTC/Colombus Statue? We have been to Barcelona several  times…….another option was to book a BarcelonaDay Tours half day to Montserrat?
Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you and Happy New Year.
