  1. We just came back from our first cruise. After doing many hours of research on how to organize, what to pack, and other assundry ideas here is what we decided on and it worked for us.

    • It is easy to overpack. Even when you think you are cutting back, most people still overpack.
    • The over-the-door-organizer worked great for us. Lots of things at our fingertips without being out and in the way.
    • In rooms with the couches. Many of them have 2 storage drawers under the couch.
    • Walls are metal. Use small magnets with clips to hang items. We always hung up our S&S cards when we came into the room. We also hung up the "Fun Times" each evening after it was delivered.
    • We had room service deliver coffee to the room each morning. Enjoyed having coffee on the balcony.
    • We took an extension cord for husband's CPAP machine, duct taped the cord on the floor and ran it under the bed.
    • Took additional outlet with two USB ports for charging.
    • Stored our luggage under the bed.
    • Even though the rooms are smaller than what you are used to in hotels, they are really well laid out. Lots of storage places.
    • Just because others say it's a "must have" use your own judgement.

  2. Am a newbie going on our first cruise in August. Have read the boards learning a lot of information. This topic is one that still confuses me though.

    • I know Cruise Cash is "use or lose"

    • I see people talk about putting "Cruise Cash" on Sail&Sign.

    • I see people talk about using credit card on S&S.

    • I see the option of putting money on your S&S when you are doing your online check in.

Why would you choose something you can't get back? What am I missing?

Just haven't been able to get my head around it. Maybe I am overthinking it.

  3. Hi Silverspringcruiser :)

My answer is slightly outside of the box and really doesn't have anything

in common regarding having more fun, however it is has a common aspect

concerning the title of your post, 'Stuff you didn't think to do until you were

    a repeat cruiser'...

After our very 1st voyage 31 years ago, my wife & I wrote down everything

we experienced when we got home. From our 2nd voyage on, until the present,

we decided to keep cruise journals.

Prior to going to sleep each evening my wife & I discuss the days events and

    log them.

We have been doing this for over three decades now and have many journals.

The strolls down memory lane are wonderful. In some ways more entertaining

than the photo's or video we have collected over the years.

Even picking out/purchasing the journal prior to the cruise has become

    a fun task in itself.

To us, it is another way, an interesting way, to save and also relive the

    voyage...

    :)

    Great ideal!!

  4. Hello! Me and my soon to be husband will be going on this cruise for our honeymoon. We were thinking about doing the Catamaran Sail & Snorkel in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Spectacular Shore Snorkel With Mexican Lunch in Cozumel, Mexico. Amazing Turtle & Wildlife Adventure in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands. We decided we wanted to book through the carnival line to ensure safety and that we make it back to the boat. Anyone looking at doing any of these excursions and want to meet up?

We are on the same cruise. Haven't decided on excursions yet.

  5. Have read this thread while trying to decide whether or not to purchase Cheers. We aren't big drinkers, so an extra $700 seems like overkill.

Haven't seen anything about what the average cost for a mixed drink is, can someone chime in on that?

    Thanks in advance.
