  1. COUPLE OF QUESTIONS!!

I have finally read through this whole thread and made a document with all the great info provided.

Augie, BEAUTIFUL PICTURES!! I saw some that said White Bay. Absolutely beautiful. Where is this??

Also, we have been watching youtube videos for the last several hours on all the different beaches. Cinnamon looks to have more waves than Trunk Bay. Is this true or did it just happen that the videos we watched were bigger surf? Now that Maho has a bathroom, we may look into that.

But Trunk Bay looks incredible. We have never been anywhere except Disney, Carnival, RCCI private islands and Nassau. So we can't wait to see this!!

  2. I have not read through this whole thread but here's my question. My cousin just returned from the Elation to Cozumel. They had a group of 14 and hired a shuttle bus for $20 pp. He stayed with them all day. Just took them to the beach (GREAT BEACH, SHE SAID), waited all day for them, then took them to Carlos n Charlies and Margaritaville to shop.

Our group will have 12. I'm a planner and would love to hire someone like Lazaro or Gerri. I think my cousin got lucky and got a good driver!! We don't necessarily want to tour the island. We'd just like the beach and some shopping and visiting those restaurants for sure. Should I contact the above email and see if they are available? Do you think the cost would be in that range? 12 X 20 for the day would be 240. Any suggestions?

  3. We visited Costa Maya back in '07 and LOVED it!!! Had a great beach day at Cat's Meow. We are going to Progresso in July and traveling with family who did not go to Costa Maya with us.

How would you compare Progresso to Costa Maya? Once again, we had a great day there. Of course, we all have great attitudes and just love being on vacation!!!

  4. Last night on Hotwire I won the "Staybridge Suites by Holiday Inn." It is 6 miles from the port, located in SE Jacksonville.

    Amenities:

    Suites

    complimentary breakfast

    fitness center

    pool(s)

    business center

    laundry

    Internet access

    spa

    $47 a night plus tax/fees.

This is a brand new hotel. Each room is a suite w/full kitchen, flat screen TV, granite counters. Looks like there are several restaurants along with a Publix nearby.

Just wanted to throw that out there in case anyone is interested.

Just checking to see if this was a good place and if it was six miles or twelve which is mentioned later in this thread.

  5. You say you know it, but you dont seem to understand that if you cannot book more than 2 into the cabin, you cannot move a rollaway into the cabin to sleep 3.

You asked 3 times, so we are thinking you don't really get the answer. The difference is some cabins are rated for a rollaway by Carnival. Yes, they really do have some cabins that they allow this, not every cabin that is a inside cabin can have a rollaway, only some. None of the 1As are so designated, thats why you never can book more than 2 into these cabins, they are designated to only allow 2, that is the limit. If Carnival puts this limit on them, it means you cant get another bed for a 3rd person.

The site with pictures of different actual cabins is a pay site, thats why people usually post the cabin #'s here to see if anyone else stayed in that cabin.

Gosh, I'm sorry to be such a bother. I DO understand. This is not my first cruise. I booked the 1A's because of the price and was just trying to get a good understanding. I HAVE got a rollaway brought in for my child before in a 2 person cabin when I had to use her name on my dad's cabin to get him the double occupancy rate. The reason I asked again was to find out the shape of the cabin and size of the cabin, how much floor space. I assume there's more floor space in this 1A since it's still 185 sf and there's only one twin bed on the floor. (maybe not). I was not familiar with the cruisedeckplans site and was just looking at Carnival's site. Thanks!!

  6. If I have a cabin number, is there a way to find out the shape of the cabin and what's exactly in it?

Also, I have booked two in a cabin before and had a rollaway brought in for a child. I've had to do that for kind of the same reason, to get my dad in a room by himself. To add a little humor here, Dad needs the room by himself because he SNORES and also makes a few other sounds, if you know what I mean.

It was cheaper and actually a PVP told me to do this. We've been on several cruises with him, but this is the first time we've booked upper/lower and it was because we got a really good price. It was like $75 less than the inside per person.

  7. We are sailing on the Carnival Fascination. I know the upper/lowers are for two, but could you request a rollaway so you could fit a third person in there? In our case we have two up/low with my father and son and two college guys. I'd like to let my father have a cabin by himself and put the three guys together. Anyone ever done this?

  8. When we were on the Fantasy this past summer, we placed our one-ring, small blow-up pool kind of under the slide. It worked great and no one said a word. Everyone thought it was a great idea. It definitely wasn't in the way as people can't walk under the slide. We used water from the shower and dumped it down the drain after use.
